Reaper Invasion - Kraken at Kizoku

Post by Best Girl on Tue Dec 01, 2015 10:13 pm

That huge thing sitting atop the building...!
Just looking at it feels like it's drilling holes into your mind...!

[Boss Battle: Squirm Deletor, Lourelou - Codename "Kraken"]
Modified Skill:
[AUTO](VC):[Counterblast (3) - "Deletor"] When this unit's drive check reveals a grade 2 or higher card, until end of that battle, this unit gets "[AUTO](VC):[Choose one of your rear-guards with "Deletor" in its card name, and retire it] At the end of the battle that this unit attacked, you may pay the cost. If you do, delete all of your opponent's vanguards.". When this unit's drive check reveals a grade 3 card, Counter Charge (2). (The deleted unit is turned face down, its power becomes 0 and it loses all text. It turns face up at the end of the owner's turn)
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks a vanguard, this unit gets [Power]+3000 until end of that battle.

Damage Threshold: 15 to 20 Damage over the course of 3 or more fights.

Seifer hadn't gotten the text, didn't even look at his phone. Just made his way here to see... This, panic all around and a monster. A chill went up his spine. He hated that feeling as he stared at the monstrosity atop the bridge. The fear emanating from his Link Joker deck confirmed what this was as well: A Reaper. The pounding in his head from looking at it didn't help. Well, dammit. Looking away, he tried to see behind him, and to get rid of his migraine. The others were coming right? That's what he hoped. As far as he knew, he had no real means of fighting it off. Nouvelle was no longer in his hands.

Cero found Hikari's reaction and the text very very sudden and very confusing.  However, it made sense when he arrived in Kizoku and saw that...  Thing.  It was disgusting, yet radiated this aura of umatched power and danger.  Before he had even stopped, a severely bad headache hit Cero, causing him to fall off of his motorcycle which went and crashed into a building.

"W-what the hell is that thing...?" Cero was thinking out loud, trying to look at that eldritch abomination. Even he had to admit there was no way he could take it on by himself.

Rosalia, being the klutzy-stealth girl that she was, followed the blonde to wherever he was going. She wasn't about to let him out of her sight; she had an obligation to be with the male after all, being his fiance. But just where was he going? She didn't get a text or anything, because her phone was still dead. She frowned as a wind picked up, tossing her hair about to which she had to stop and fix it. But when she looked ahead to see how far Seifer had gotten this time, a shiver ran down her spine. What she saw wasn't just Seifer, but a.. a... monster?! Just what was that thing!?!

I-i.. I disappeared.. during the Link Joker Invasion... Wh.. what is this.. Why is there something else now attacking our home?... The panic started to take over her thoughts again. She should run, run as far away from here as fast as possible... But she couldn't leave without Seifer. So, the brunette ran in the opposite direction of fleeing bystanders, heading straight for the male's side. "S-seifer!"

Karin ran as fast as she could- which is faster than most people- to the source of the trouble at Kizoku. A huge monster on the top of a building, looming over the main bridge. Karin was already speeding across it when she saw it, but when she looked at it, her head suddenly felt like it was being split apart. She immediately stopped in her tracks, clutching her forehead as she looked down to the ground.

Then the pain was gone.

What? No, she had no time to think about this. She had to find a way to get to it, and find a way to fight it. Or, at the very least, keep it busy until Hikari or someone who knew how to fight it showed up. She picked herself back up and continued her run across the bridge, until she encountered someone.

"Seifer!" Karin stopped again, next to him, looking up at the building where the behemoth of a monster was, but trying to avoid looking directly at it. Even with its appearance just barely out of her peripheral vision, she could still feel her head begin to throb mildly. "Guh... What in the world is that thing...?"

Haruka made it on foot after a good few dashes over brushes and on top of benches through the park. The most flexible vehicle is the human body. He made it in breakneck speed, but only due to a few other mistakes on his travel did he realize how bad of a decision he made.

And that's when the sound hit him. Or rather the lack thereof. Ringing in his ears pierced his ear drums... Not fun. He turned a corner and down a block to find exactly what Yukino must have texted about. A... what the hell is that thing?

______________________________________________________________________________________

From the forest to the city in near lightspeed, Sera saw it happen before it even hit the surface. The things were here too... And just when he thought he'd escaped the fate he and Haruka had nearly had to deal with in their original timeline. Of course with Haruka's wipe, Sera was never going to show him what those from Brandt were capable of... yet he had to assist him in any way possible.

Sera followed up behind Haruka as they arrived at roughly the same time to the area, with his shirt sleeves rolled up and his bright red suspenders somewhat tattered. Heroic D was sent back to the manor for now....

Sera actually just carried him down and let him into the wild, secretly hoping the cat would be at the manor.

"So... see you found it too..."

"Found it?"

"Just... hold your horses... Is that Seifer over there?"

Haruka and Sera dashed over to him, where it seems Rose was also here. She was a ninja indeed. Haruka caught notice of something hitting a building. The sound was very quiet, compared to the piercing metallic cry in his ears, but he could vaguely make out someone....

"What the..."

After Noel's crushing defeat, she kept walking aimlessly while thinking about Mirai and her Seekers. They were really powerful and that power seemed bottomless. It was almost well hidden. The strength while fighting without a care in the world already gave her trouble but, Mirai going an inch serious made that strength multiply. What was her secret? That troubled Noel because she knows she got stronger as well. Anyone else would of been in trouble. She thought about what Mirai said, is her own frustration blinding her from becoming stronger?

That was when Noel heard panic and screams coming from the bridge by Kizoku. Instinctively, Noel ran towards the scene and that was when she saw it. A giant monster terrorizing the area. That was when she knew, the brief moment of peace is over. Another threat to the world showed itself once more. "That thing is huge! What is that?! It doesn't look like a Star-vader... whatever it is though, this isn't good. It doesn't seem like it can be stopped easily with a single fight...

Carlos was going through the modifications of his deck. He could have taken all the night to do that but suddenly, he felt... Something. Like he was needed elsewhere. That same feeling made him took his deck with him, just in case. He didn't know anything about the streets, but in seconds he knew where to go. He followed the direction people where running from. He even paid a taxi to get him there. "Oh man, I hope its Godzilla".

He knew it wasn't Godzilla when he saw some weird tentacle monster on top of some buildings. "... I'll have to pay the driver a lot thanks to this". The excitement made him ignore that the more he watched that creature, he was starting to feel some kind of headache. The driver felt it too, to the point where he refused to drive. Carlos just ran all the way there.

People were running and there was a lot of chaos. But some brave people were standing in the middle of it, watching the monster like the headache had no effect on them. Whatever they were using, Carlos needed it. Urgently. "This hurts so much!!!" He said while collapsing on the floor. "I can't even make fun of the tentacles in this situation!!!".

Just hearing that thing try to speak is a migraine in itself.

"The fuck is that thing?!" Bashiro shouted as his boys and his younger brother were already turning tail. That thing fired a laser that tore one of their favorite bars right in half! The thug couldn't even get mad, he was just in awe. Two seconds of looking at that thing made their heads feel like they'd tear open, so they began to flee like the rest of the masses. Then he bumped into someone, a woman it sounded like. Not the best time to score, nor the best time to really try. "Ah... God..."

"O-Ow..." Aoi cried, rubbing her head, having fallen down in the opposite direction of the man.

"... Aoi?" Bashiro asked, seeing the China girl.

"... Bashy?" Aoi responded with a cute nickname. The robotic hissing cut off their little reunion, and Bashiro checked back to see it looking their way. He couldn't even look all the way back without him feeling as if he'd faint.

"Oh shit, okay, time to go!" The man acted responsibly, quickly rising to his feet and yanking the girl up to her own. They barely avoided a silent shot of void energy that left a crater in the ground. Almost instantly, a laser followed up, nearly hitting them, and proceeding to slice a bridge clean in-half. "Run, run!"

"Everyone run! Get the hell out of Kizoku!" The commander Chosen Sword barked an order. "Help the citizens evacuate! And don't look directly at it, it'll blow your damn mind!" Yukino shouted in tandem with Ahmes with everyone getting ready to assault the Reaper on both planets. The accessory on her wrist - the Reality Bangle shined and opened a holographic screen. It had... detailed blueprints of the incomprehensible monstrosity above, labeling it with the name "KRAKEN". "Those of the Resistance - able bodies, I need you all to put on the bangles! It's the only way you can start to understand the design of the Reapers to be able to look at them!" Hikari added on, utilizing the power of the Meister with her glowing Legion-symbolized pupils to rapidly duplicate the accessory, then toss it into the sky for them to rain down the area. Kraken was having no such antics, and destroyed a good number of them with a roar alone.

Two slid over to Bashiro and Aoi, still in-tact, thankfully.

"What the hell do we do?!" A panicking Valrod inquired.

"You must at least drive it away", a voice spoke.

"Zenon!"

"Uh, what the hell did she say? We can see it with these things?" The eyepatched thug questioned, having stopped running and adjusted one he put on his wrist.

"They're not here to play games with us, so I had to modify the Reality Bangles! They'll let you summon cards into reality to fight against it! You can use vanguard to stimulate a fight with it!"

Yukino showcased an example, holding up File's card, and letting it react with the device. The card itself vanished, and the Advance Party Seeker was summoned into reality. That... was quite shocking to him.

"Stop Kraken! Even if you can't kill it, just do what you can, and stay alive!"

"HOW MARVELOUS! A DEVICE CREATED JUST TO UNDERSTAND US! I'M... THIS FEELING... THIS EMOTION BEYOND VOID. I FEEL AS THOUGH LIQUID WILL OOZE FROM MY EYE SOCKETS IN A SENTIMENTAL FASHION. ... CRY? YES! I WILL CRY! AHAHAHA! BEAUTIFUL. I WILL CRY TEARS OF JOY. YOU MAY UNDERSTAND ME, YOU MAY ENTERTAIN ME!

MY CHILDREN WILL MEET YOU AS WELL. LET US ENJOY OURSELVES, MORTALS."

Kraken's booming voice was intelligible now, and it was quite feminine with a mix of metallic sounding. Its tentacles caressed its own face gently, the teeth permanently on display on his face curling into a deranged grin. Its limbs slithered against the glass of windows, as did it rub against mountain soil on Cray, finding delight in the very feeling of touch.

It couldn't hold its excitement, it wanted to delete these soft, tender existences.

He had to take one of those damn bangles? The wound on Cero's pride was severe. Having to resort to relying on something created by his rival of all people... Disgraceful. He grabbed the bangle nearest to him regardless. That thing was enough of a threat that even Cero wasn't willing to just let it sit there. Putting a bangle on, looked at the blueprints. He turned his head back to the reaper, now comprehending its grotesque structure. Cero allowed Judgebau to react with the bangle, summoning it to reality. This was going to be a fight to remember.

Seifer snatched one of the bangles that weren't destroyed as it came down, attaching it to his wrist, locking it in. "These things again?" Turning to face Yukino and the group, the normally free spirited Seifer had an expression that could almost kill, before turning back in the direction of the beast. The headache, the annoyances from before... The stress. Cracking his neck, the blonde stepped forward, pulling a deck out from inside of his jacket. "You know, normally I'd be scared. I'd probably try and run away because I have no idea how to fight you. My other deck is terrified. And yet..." a purple and white aura surrounded the male, though it was faint. "Right now? To me, you're nothing more than a good stress reliever." Holding up a card that the others couldn't see yet, a form appeared next to Seifer. It wasn't... Link Joker. Standing next to Seifer was a twin blade wielding, silver-white haired male in armor: Starting Legend, Ambrosius. Royal Paladin.

No way...

Sera didn't take a second thought before snatching up a bangle from the area, and clicking it on his wrist with good speed. Safe measure, after all. Haruka did the same, blinking about trying to fix it on his wrist. Took him three or four tries before fully equipping it and nodding over to Yukino.

"Don't tell me that... that's what I think it is."

Sera walked up front and center to the creature. He knew taking this thing head-on was worse than suicide. Instead, he simply adjusted his view of it, looking for weak spots. Physical harm was not possible, but being able to deal with the menace from a position where your units had an advantage was probably best.

"Haruka!"

Sera shouted down to the boy. Haruka scrunched his eyebrows.

"Swallow your fear."

Haruka blinked. What an odd thing to say given the circumstances right now! Haruka shook his head, bracing himself. He had the same idea as Sera; no way he'd be able to take on the first fight. He and his deck weren't 100% synched for battle, and... sad to say it...

Tidal Assault was nowhere to be found at the moment. His presence was simply not there at the moment. He grit his teeth standing back from the monstrosity, allowing the first runner-up to get in the brawl. Haruka would take a fight soon. No use dawdling...

"Captain, prepare yourself! This isn't going to end as easily as you'd like it to be."

Finally, Hikari arrived. And with her, she brought... Bangles? Wait a second. Karin looked at her arm and-

Nothing. Just her wrist.

Weird. She had sworn she was wearing something just like the Bangles Hikari tossed out just yesterday. Or, did she? She couldn't remember, but something about it all seemed very familiar. Regardless of these mixed-up memories, Karin reached into the sky and snatched one of the bangles, quickly slipping it around her wrist and dashing over to join Hikari's side. Looking up at the monstrosity, she realized the bangle was clearly doing its work. The creature still looked hideous, but the splitting pain was gone. But, "The only way to understand their design"... Was this being of a higher dimension?

"I'm here with you, Miss Hikari. We'll fight this monster off as best we can."

Rosalia was terrified to say the least. She wanted nothing more than to curl up in a corner far... far... very far away. Her head was killing her, and havoc was all around her. Nowhere was safe; what was even going on anymore? But when she heard Yukino's voice, something about bangles... what are those? Something shiny flew passed, just barely missing her face honestly. She managed to at least tap it, making it lose momentum so she could fumble around with it for a moment, before finally catching it. Securing it in place around her wrist, it didn't help with the headache... In fact, she could hear the creepy monster talking!? This was beyond any nightmare one could imagine...

Rosalia lifted her head though, seeing what the others were doing. She watched Seifer and Yukino most of all. Before her very eyes, cardfight monsters came to life! That was how they were going to defeat this creature... She... she had to help some! But... The brunette took out her deck, holding it tightly with shaking hands. I... I've never used this deck before... Not even in a normal cardfight....

A tear rolled down her cheek, the female taking a deep breath as she moved to Seifer's side, obviously not the one where the Royal Paladin stood. She gripped his arm, more so because she needed some comfort for herself. "B-be careful... I-i... I'm gonna help..." She then took the first card of her deck and held it up, a quick flash appearing from it as a girl in holy, violet-colored garbs and bright green hair appeared next to the brunette, wielding a single pistol. It was not the Pale Moon that the brunette was known for before; it was Battle Sister, Eclair.

Carlos thought he heard someone yelling about attacking the creature, but the headache was so strong that he believed he was losing his mind. Gathering all his strength, he stood up and ran the hell away from that monster. He noticed that the headache was decreasing, but he later found his way to the floor again. This time it was thanks to tripping over some king of bangle. "What the-!? Who leaves stuff like this on the floor when there a monster tearing down the city!?".

Suddenly, he noticed a woman, wearing the same type of bangle, placing a Vanguard card on top of the bangle. Not only the bangle reacted, but the Unit depicted in the card materialized on front of her. "... Ok, what?". Letting his curiosity win over him, he put on the bangle and placed the Spark Kid Dragoon card on top of it. Yeah, the Unit suddenly appeared and nodded to him.

"Now this is officially the best... Trip... Ever!!!" He shouted, forgetting the situation. He noticed that a lot of people that were standing, now had this bangle and had already materialized their Units. "Oh, so we're all players here? Nice. Maybe we stand a chance". With Spark Kid Dragoon, he ran toward the monster hoping that whatever caused the headache was gone.

Giggling could be heard as Sophie came out of the shadows, her arms crossed under her chest as she stood between the group of brave 'heroes' and their units and the terrifying monster they were bravely preparing to defeat. "Oh my, to think a nice stroll could lead me to such a beautiful play. To think there are actually real monsters and heroes like the fairy tales and movies. And using Vanguard units to fight too? Its like something out of mangas and animes!" She uncrossed her arms and clapped. "This world is truly blessed to have such a thing. Ah but I suppose its my duty to help even out the odds stacked against the hero and help take out the monsters in front of me? Its no fun if you all gang up on the poor hero, isn't that right Catherine?" With an almost bloodlust, feral grin, Sophie snapped her fingers and a humongous doll appeared out of the ground. The Nightmare Doll, Catherine. "I hope you don't mind if I join the fun Mr. Hero?" As she said this, she was looking at Kraken.

The fight was very. Very. Very. Frustrating. In the early game, he kept getting blocked and a heal trigger prevented him from using Judgebau. After that, he was constantly getting deleted, which didn't hurt as much as normal because of a surplus of G3s. Even so, it was extremely difficult to survive the constant waves of attacks. When he finally had the opportunity to Legion, and Yunos appeared on the Vanguard circle, he looked back to Yukino. With a grunt, and an edgy-tsundere look on his face, he turned back to the battle as he charged at the abomination by Phantom Blaster Dragon's side. However, the power of the Abyss wasn't enough to turn the game around as it was stopped by two perfect guards. Cero, having used up most of his resources guarding previous Delete turns, was defeated. Though, he managed to deal significant damage to the abomination.

Kraken took on Seifer and Cero both at once - Royal Paladin from the former, surprisingly enough, and Revengers from the latter. The reaper general summoned a massive horde of "drones", other "Deletors" of lesser power and purpose. Both "fights" were... something. Honestly, the majority of the people there barely understood Kraken's movements. They were rather flamboyant and taunting, yet encouraging and excited by human will and emotion. "Link Joker" is supposed to be a clan without feeling. The reapers so far seemed to be exactly the opposite.

Thing Saver Dragon and Phantom Blaster "Abyss", a guardian dragon and the Dragon of Hell stood to fight the eldritch abomination. Yet, while the Reality Bangle translated "damage" being taken, the Deletor seemed mostly fine. There was some visible bruises and the like, yet, it didn't even comprehend them. The beast was so far beyond mortality, "pain" did not exist. Yes... "pain" was deleted.

Wait, no, some exceptionally strong hits wound up getting a reaction. ... One filled with pleasured screaming. How fascinating! The power of Delete was revealed, temporarily deleting the vanguard in the "game", yet, in the war, a massive level of that victim's life force was no more, if they were even still existing. That is the true form of terror - the power to annihilate the "Vanguard". Even worse, it was revealed that they were even above the Star-vaders, having lock at the drop of a dime. They even erased units from the drop zone.

It just kept happening.

"Since... when does he have Royal Paladin?" Yukino inquired, seeing Seifer's Seekers. More overly, a Blaster Blade Seeker... Wait a moment, she gave that to him, didn't she? A sole Blaster Blade... for Nouvelle! To see the dreams of Nouvelle! But it was a Liberator! Time altered that too?!

"Hey sweet-pea, I'm gonna go help out", Bashiro told his little buddy.

"Huh?! Are you crazy?! That lady gave us something to be able to look at it, and my head still hurts!" Aoi shouted in the middle of the chaos born of units flying around the city and attacking the eldritch equal of Godzilla.

"I know that, but I'm gonna feel worse if someone got hurt when I could do something about it. Let your sleazebag buddy handle it, alright?" Bashiro grabbed her shoulders and said the most shounen thing he could think of. Then ran off.

"... Stop reading manga you dummy! I'm not letting you die out there!" Aoi screamed, following behind.

The Brawlers appeared, and in one fell swoop, combined with the earlier damage from the first fights... the synchronized might of Bashiro and the summoned Big Bang Knuckle Dragon did a massive number of Kraken, knocking it off of the building even!

"HOW D̷̸́̕A̵R̵̢È̛ ҉̛̀͢Ý̷̛O̷͏̀͠͠U͜͠" Kraken screeched, spewing out more void ooze that it drooled at the Brawler and the Abyss Dragon nearby. Bigbang Slash, however, gallantly jumped forward, and took the shot. ... And a copy of it ceased to exist, the dragon vanished.

"H-Holy shit", Bashiro repeated the same phrase for the eighth time, sweating and losing his breath. The delete spread out on Cray, devouring several Royal, Shadow, and Narukami fighters of the front lines, and even sneaking in the backlines, in a deathly sphere of nothing. It was beyond units being "sealed", they no longer existed. Several copies of those units vanished from the face of the earth, those left being those victims struggling to remain alive.

"Well, it took a Guardian Dragon Zenon summoned out of his ass, an Abyss Dragon that happens to be the Dragon of Hell, and the head of the new Narukami faction, along with a huge chunk of our forces... to scratch it?!" Octavius analyzed and cried out in disbelief.

"Pain" didn't exist again. Kraken simply wriggled and slithered about on the ground, traversing the earth with a myriad of tendrils for legs. In a way, "pain" may have never actually existed. Perhaps a little show to make humans and Cray fighters feel good? To think after the effort of three Vanguards, including two superhuman, they had a chance?

Maybe, Kraken didn't actually think about it. It simply enjoyed the way everyone reacted to it getting up as if little happened.

"Can I erase you too?" The abomination inquired of a young lass who approached, along with others all at once.

Seifer teamed up with Royal Paladin. Wait, how? How did he have it? Zenon would probably explain it to Yukino later, after the threat had passed. Unfortunately it would remind her of what she "took" from Seifer, even if he was standing there before them. "Let's go Cero!" it confused him that Cero had Shadow Paladin, but didn't complain at all. There was no time. Oddly enough, Royal Paladin came to Seifer's aid, much like they would for any well known Royal Paladin player. None of it made sense, especially when Thing Saver Dragon, and Blaster Blade Seeker appeared together. Blaster Blade glanced back at Yukino, quietly nodding before going to help the Guardian Dragon and Seifer. They managed to deal significant damage together with Cero's aid, and... Bashiro? Lazy man's being a hero? Good job dude. In any case, the fight wasn't over. There were others that were stepping up as well to help. Seifer himself had Blaster Blade Seeker at his side, using the blade that he was named after as a prop, while Thing Saver Dragon continued to stay in front of Cero and Seifer to ward off any other attacks. "C-Cero... You alright?" the attacks had taken a lot out of them. It was time for others to move in and mop up, as the Royal Paladin/Shadow Paladin pair had done their part and had to pull back.

Re: Reaper Invasion - Kraken at Kizoku

The Resistance were quickly understanding what real fear was like.

A massive horde of units assaulted the Kraken reaper and its "drones", Karin and Rosalia of all people standing up to lead the charge. Such bravery was met with... respect... sort of? From Kraken. The translator waves weren't working perfectly, and most of his speech wound up garbled. "D͜͠͝I̕̕͢͡͝F͟͢H̨͢Ņ͘͟͝Ḱ̷̀͜͞L̡͢͞G͏̸̕͘͢F̨͠I̴̛͟͞S͏̷D̴̢N̵҉̀͢͢" was something it screamed, they think. The beast was becoming more eccentric and violent, smashing its tendrils on the earth while whacking away at Kagero and Oracle Think Tank. The Perdition forces and Magi. The Reapers were no strangers to either, even revealing that Kraken alone had seen Magus sixteen times and erased them all the same.

There was an even worse matter.

Aoi rushed in with Militiades and Genovious having performed Legion while Karin was being assaulted, and Lavisse led a hefty charge of Ripple units to back up the Magus brigade. While doing so, Karin attempted to... transcend upon request of the Deletor. ... And it didn't work. Nothing happened. Yukino saw this, and attempted to summon Aurageyser Dragon or Holy Squire Dragon, yet, neither responded. There should be welling up in the chest, some strain, some reaction from the Reality Bangles!

Then Kraken cackled.

"Sovereign" talked about "transcendence". And erased it.

How... is that... even possible?!

The battles were insanely drawn out, being far too close for comfort. Seeing Kagero of all clans be viciously beaten, despite not being total deleted, did incredible damage to morale. Even Overlord couldn't stop this thing?! The Magi units had all the shielding in the world, Rosalia doing her best to survive, and yet... a Miracle Heal was revealed too early. Kraken played around it so it would be wasted by being drawn the next turn.

Units were deleted by the dozens not by void ooze, but with a tailwhip. Ripis Magus was caught, and a copy of her disappeared.

"Nooooo!!" Aoi screamed, grabbing her head, wincing in pain. As if this happened before...? It... it happened before. She saw the Reapers before. Did she? Her head hurts, even with the bangle. It's killing her, and the sight of others getting beaten like this made it worse.

"Dammit, stay back if you can't-" Bashiro was cut off.

"STOOOOOOP!!" The Aqua Force prodigy screamed, just as Kraken deleted Supersonic Sailor and Rescuing Turtle Soldier. The Ripple leader - Genovious of all people, took a blow, having a copy of himself deleted from Aoi, and who knows how many from the world overall?

"Genovious!!" Militiades called out to his partner, and he was lucky. He wasn't entrapped in a sphere, yet, his eyes were devoid of color.

"A-Aaah..." Aoi was panicking.

The Meister summoned two swords: the Sword of Courage and Brutus' blade. Having found an opening, the first weapon was thrown at Kraken, distracting the foul devilbeast for a moment in order to come down and cleave him in twine with the second. ... That was the plan anyway. Brutus and Egbert even came with her, and the trio were all intercepted by Iggy, another gigantic Reaper drone gripping onto them.

"T͏̷̵̀͠H̷̛҉̷Į̸̡̢͢S̵͝ ̴̷̡I̛͢͢S̴̷͘҉҉ ́͏̧̨G̕Ŗ̴E̸̷̷̶͘A̷͢͏҉Ţ͢͡͞ ̵̨͢͞F̴̧͟Ú̸͏N̵͘,̕͢ ̧̛̕͘A̡P̸̕È̕͘͜͡S̶̨ ͏̨Ò̷̢F̸̧ ̛̀T̸̡H͞͏̛̀͠E̛ ̶̀E̵̢̨͘͝A̸͜R̛͢͢T̷͢҉͏H̵͟͏̷̨.̧̨̡͜ ̧̨͟͞T̴H̶̛͏E̴͢ ҉̢͠O̵̧̕V̶̡̡͘͡É̴͏Ŗ̧̛̕L҉̴̷̕O҉͜R̷̶͘͢͟Ḑ̧̀͏͢S̸͘͢ ͘͞͞W͘̕͢Ơ̷̢U͡Ĺ̵̷̢D͢͡͝ ̶̷̨͘B́͢͡Ę̶̴͘͏ ̶̀͝M̨̛͟͝Ǫ̵̵̀͟S̕͝T̶̷̡̛ ́̕͜͡J̧͠Ò̴Y̷̕͜͟Ǫ̢Ų͝͝S̡̛͜ ̷͏̸͘͟I̷͝F̴̵̕ ̶͘͜Ţ̸̧̛H̶̀E̶҉Y̶̡̕͠ ́̕̕̕Ć̕O̸̶̸͟U̷̡͟͠͏L̴̢͏D̡҉̶ ̶̸̨͟S̴̛͞H͝҉́҉̕Á̢̡͠͝R҉҉̢E̷ ̵̡̀͠T̵̡H̶̢͠I̷̸͘̕S̢̕ ̷̧͡S̵̶̀͘͠P̨͜҉L̵͘͠E̷͞N̷͠Ḑ̕͢O̷̢Ŗ̛͢͡ ̷̢W̵̨͞I͘̕͢͞T̵́H͘͏̨̕ ̷̵̶̶I͢͡.́̕"

Shit, Yukino can't understand him.

The Chosen Sword was flung away with the Seekers.

Locrinus was deleted trying to go help out.

Re: Reaper Invasion - Kraken at Kizoku

Post by Rosalia Izanami on Wed Dec 02, 2015 2:49 am

Rosalia, having never used this deck before since returning from the rift, wasn't exactly confident in her abilities with the upcoming battle. But slowly, she seemed to start understanding what the Magi were meant to do, who they were, and how they played out. Most importantly, she started to recognize them; they were the figures in the background of her dreams, silhouettes coming to light in a variety of shapes and colors. Most importantly, she started to recognize what it meant to Legion...

Yet, the monster itself distracted the poor girl, terrifying her to no end. I-i have to pull through... she told herself... But those tentacles were seriously creepy. And when her Legion was Deleted, twice, was there really any hope left for her? She had to believe so...

But, perhaps it was all in vain. She couldn't deal enough damage, and her own skills ended up revealing the future to the monster itself: a sixth heal. And the monster used it to its advantage... There just wasn't a way to save it. Come the final damage, Rosalia stared up in shear horror at the impending attack, and yet, it was Ripis Magus who took the hit. "R-ripis!... A-ahhh!!!" The force of the tailwhip extended passed Ripis being deleted, sending the brunette flying back with a pain-filled shriek. She... lost?... Just like those other sixteen times this monster had come across Magus...

Well, that pissed Seifer off even more but... First thing's first. As the brunette flew back, he struggled to run from his kneeling position to leap in front of her. That was a mistake, since he didn't expect the force. Wrapping his arms around the flying girl as he flew with her, he felt... No, it was audible enough that everyone could hear it. One of his ribs just broke. The sound of bone snapping was audible... Once... Twice. There went two ribs. The pair went flying for a little bit before hitting the ground, rolling a good few feet. Seifer's exposed arms were scratched up, and his jacket tail was ripped in places. "Gck... Aaaaaaah!" the blonde started writing in pain from the broken ribs, the Blaster Blade Seeker he'd summoned doing his best to hobble over after their fight with Kraken. Seifer was in really rough shape, as he'd attempted to take most of the force from hitting the ground, so Rosalia took the least amount of it. His arms and elbows were scratched and bleeding, ribs broken... And there was probably some internal bleeding, as he lay under Rosalia's frame, crying out in immense pain.

Rosalia felt a bit of an impact before hitting the ground, like she had just broken through a wall and was taking part of it with her... Wait, what? She heard a loud cracking, but didn't feel the additional pain that would accompany having her own bones broken. Only after they landed did she realize just who she had been tossed into. "S-s... Seif..." The poor brunette felt as if it was her fault that she was knocked back with such force from a giant.. fricken.. squid.... She couldn't end it so that others wouldn't get hurt... And now, Seifer had protected her still, tears running down the female's cheeks as she tried to get off of the wounded blonde without causing him more pain. Though she wasn't particularly injured herself, save for a few cuts and bruises, she was worn out mentally. As soon as she was off of the male, Rosalia collapsed, completely unconscious while in the middle of absolute chaos.

He.... Did nothing. Haruka stood nearly Motionless as his comrades attempted to overwhelm the beast all at once.

But Haruka was unable to make it to the front line, like he intended. His resolve vanished, and his face turned pale as it took one stray tentacle-

Crack.

Haruka was sent at near lightspeed into the side of a building, skidding against the sharp, cracked pavement along the way.

Sera stood there, shaking his head, rushing to the nearly unconscious boy and carrying him out of the area, dashing off of walls and around the nearby threat.

He looked at Haruka's face, life dulling from it. If only he made it to the battle... Like Aqua Force, there is no defense built-in. Their offense is their defense, so when one cannot make it to the battle... They don't stand a chance. Haruka was unable to get into the fray, and therefore lost before he even began to fight.

"I'm so sick of your thought-provoking morals. Stop thinking of doing what's right and start doing something for yourself!"

Sera grit his teeth, leaving the scene with Haruka in his arms. Haruka did not weep. He did not cry. He simply stopped thinking after awhile and slept.

Sera carried Haruka somewhere safe. Not the manor, no. He carried the broken boy back to a different home.

Kraken propelled itself off the ground, ignoring whatever else was happening after having enough fun and then getting sick of it. The drones all followed behind, and the Deletors disappeared into the sky.

Humanity's first encounter with a Reaper in the prime timeline... and they barely scratched it.
