- Darren's Beginnings:
- Biography:Darren is a simple guy from a simple family. He is an only child, as far as he knows, who loves adventure. He grew up reading comic books and loves the idea of Heroes. Even to this day he has childish dreams of being a hero like the ones he read about. He has been asked to study and live in a new town with an aunt who knows him more than he knows her.
Less than a year ago, Darren stumbled into a cardshop. He saw Cardfight Vanguard and fell in love with it. The idea of becoming the units gave infinate possibilities of growth and advancement. In the first pack he bought, he saw a Dimension Police unit, the heroic Enigman and all it stood for. Seeing the unit, he knew this was the clan he wanted for himself.
Fast forwarding, Darren found the unit, Super Dimension Robo, Daikaiser and became hooked on it. It looked so cool and it felt right in his hands. He added it to his deck without even caring if it worked or not. He wants to go as far as he possibly can along with this unit.
When going to the train station, he met a girl and had a Cardfight with her. He used a deck filled with Dimension Robo units. In the end, he lost the battle and the deck felt... odd. It was as if he wasn't ready for what the deck as a whole could do. Darren went back to his original deck with the hope that he will grow strong enough to use that deck to its fullest at a later time. Unfortunately for Darren, his train was scheduled for later than that day, so after the battle, he went home in the hopes that he would see more people in the near future as strong as the one he fought that day.
Darren reveals within the school Camping Trip that he is not only an only child but that his family is usually busy with work. He has been spending his time with comic books and Vanguard as a result of this, most of his activities aside from Vanguard being him alone. He feels a connection to the Dimension Police that put the people they serve above themselves. He wishes to be like that someday, but the more he thinks about it, the more it seems like an unattainable dream.
Personality: Darren is a bright and happy person, not too loud unless he is excited. He stays in his own mind a lot and thinks before he talks. When he plays Vanguard, he expresses himself more, becoming the units and immersing himself in the battle. He is never one to turn down a challenge and always thinking of ways to grow as a fighter as well as personally.

- The Link Joker Invasion:
- During the war, Darren was one of the first fighters to be Reversed and taken under the control of the enemy. He was also the first to be Unreversed, having full memory of all that he had done. When Reversed, Darren was told that the only way to stop the invaders and save the world was to gather allies through the Reverse power and use it against the Link Joker. This was a lie. When he was Unreversed, he realized this and began to distrusted the unit that lied to him while Reversed, Daiyusha.
Darren empowered his Daikaiser, creating its Ultimate form, Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Graet Daikaiser. It was powerful enough to help him fight off the Reverse fighters, but Darren didn't gain true strength until he learned to fully trust both Daikaiser AND Daiyusha, which was done through intense training. With this strength, Darren was even able to defeat the Seed version of Noel from a dark future. However, this came at great cost.
Darren did not kill Noel, and as a result, her "Seed" was transferred into Darren's body. When the Dimensional Robo's discovered this, Daiyuisha immediately went into stasis sealing the Seed within himself. Through Yugure, Ezel assisted in the seal, making it strong. However, Darren's desire to end the fighting and killing of the Seeds led to his second great mistake. He allowed battled the Seeded Queen Yukino and her energy caused the power of the Seed to leak out. With only the ability to use 1% of its power, this Seeded Darren battled Queen Yukino and goaded her into destroying Daiyusha, freeing him completely. Now Darren is no more, and there is only Malice.
- The Demon of Darkness is Defeated... for now:
Biography: Malice is the incarnation of the Seed Darren obtained from Noel by freeing her from her curse. Her darkness and despair combined with that of Queen Yukino's Seed fragments from her final battle as well as the remains of what she took from Seyfer. At the end of the battle between the two Chosen Swords, Malice used his new-found power to tear his way into a dimension of pure chaos and despair. There he chooses to train and understand the full extent of his abilities in order to become the Demon of Despair that can cement his place in the world.
Three months later, Malice has not only learned the extent of the Seed's abilities, but he is in the process of restoring the two fragmented Seeds he obtained from Seyer and Yukino upon that battle's end. He had only been able to restore them both to about half of what they were before, half of a full Seed. Malice wishes to remain in the other dimension until this process is complete, but he is also growing tired of waiting. He has chosen to accelerate the process by using the strengths of those who would oppose him.
Malice appeared in the populated city of Shinjuku and made a startling declaration of dominance over the populous. When met with resistance, he proceeded to attack and destroy a large amount of the city with the assistance of his Metalborg units. It appeared that though who are not Cardfighters were unable to see the units who did this and assumed instead this was all a supernatural ability that Malice himself had. He seems to be using this to his advantage, allowing the world to believe he is all powerful. His goal is to use the despair and fear of the world to empower the Seed. Malice also seems to have taken a special interest in Noel, Yukino, and Xateramusa. He has attempted to mentally wound these three in particular for different reasons. Yukino and Noel because they are the most fragile at this time due to the Reapers as well as other events, and Xateramusa because her spiritual powers are foreign to him and he wishes to eliminate them as a potential threat early on. Malice also knows to stay away from certain people such as Seifer and Mirai for now, at least until he has reached his full power.
Malice has shown to some that he has chained his Seed to the heart of Darren Shurensei. As a result, it is impossible to remove through the traditional means of it passing on through the loss of a cardfight. However, this also means that the only method to removing it is by killing the host, Darren. Even if one is prepared to do this, Darren, Daikaiser, and even Ezel are all trapped and connected to the Chains of the Seed. To destroy it would be to destroy all of them. Malice attempts to use this to add to the despair and hopelessness of the heroes in order to use it to speed up the revival of the Seeds he wishes to complete.
Personality: Malice is calculating and ruthless. He underestimates no one and uses psychology in his battles. He wants the world to feel despair, the dark sadness that brought about his existence. He couldn't be farther from Darren in terms of mindset. He even has no sense of justice, preferring instead to create chaos.

Biography: With the demon of darkness, Lord Malice defeated, Darren Shurensei reappeared onto the battlefield. His appearance changed drastically due to age as well as the influence of the Seed, but that wasn't all it did. He obtained a power that he called Seeded Eyes. This allows him to see and understand things that normal humans cannot. This includes the Reapers, other Seeded Fighters and incarnations, and even energy. Due to this, Darren has transcended humanity, however he still considers himself no different from anyone else. His Dimensional Robos are on a mission to recover the body of Super Dimensional Robo Daiyusha, so in the meantime the Metalborgs once owned by Malice aid Darren in protecting his friends.
Darren fought many Reaper drones while using his unique powers to understand things around him. He realized he could see the energy of Reapers, Drones, Former Seeds, basically anything. The more he thought about this, the more he realized he wasn't human, but he still wanted to fight so the humans could have a future. With this in mind, he decided to be a human weapon that could assist the Reapers and all but isolated himself from others. This was short lived, however, as the battle at Shop Handsome caused Darren's reckless mindset to bring him face to face with the two most powerful Reapers. Darren battled them, and he lost. He was almost Deleted but Metalborg Sin Buster stepped in place of the attack and was deleted instead. Because of this, all of the Metalborgs went with him as he was their foundation, their base.
When Darren seemed all but out, Super Dimensional Robo, Daikaiser returned to him. When this happened, Darren became able to use his old deck once again. However, now Yukino was gone. Yukino had been like a sister to Darren ever since he had been Reversed. She wanted to protect him ad he wanted to prove he could fight and live up to her expectations. Now he would never have the chance... unless he continued the fight. Yukino would have wanted Humanity to continue to hope for a future and fight for it. Darren swore that he would continue to fight and hope whatever that meant. Even as people grieved around him, Darren continued to smile and tell everyone that Humanity would get through this, that they would all survive and win.
Darren also saw memories from the Seeds he has within him. Seyer's, Dark Yukino's, and Jaded Noel. Seyer's memories seem to affect Darren the most as he had genuine remorse towards his actions even though they essentially saved the prime timeline. He sympathized with the Seeded fighters and made sure to comfort Aoi in her time of confusion and fear. Even when told all of the reincarnated Seed Fighters would disappear, Darren tried to keep hope alive.
Now that the Resistance is under the eyes of Haruka, Darren has taken it upon himself to do whatever he can to help. When Daikaiser, and later Ultimate Dimensional Robo Great Daiyusha, returned to him, Darren became able to use his abilities with less strain on his body. Due to this, he was able to manifest the Dimensional Robos to improve upon the Training Area. Through that training, Darren had discovered a new power within the Dimensional Robos, but seems unwilling to use it yet. He wonders if Harbinger, whom he calls Tomato Head, can see what they do within the base, and is thus cautious about revealing all of his abilities too soon.
Personality: Darren is always happy and willing to cheer someone up when they are down. He is still the comic book lover who has his head in the clouds, but now he can speak to Daiyusha and Daikaiser when he is deep in thought, even though non-cardfighters cannot see them and it almost seems like he is talking to himself. Despite how happy and positive he is about the world and the war, Darren is actually very negative towards himself. He believes that he still hasn't atoned for almost destroying the world alongside Harbinger and knows what Malice could have been capable of. Even Seifer feared what could happen if Malice returned, and Darren doesn't blame him. It reminds him that he isn't completely human and makes him believe the longer he is around others, the more likely he is to turn on them and hurt them. Because of this, Darren will sometimes go off on his own. He also seems intent on only using his own power, being probably the only Resistance member to have never once used a Reality Bangle. This also means communication with him is difficult, and this is combined with his natural air-headed nature and tendency to act before he thinks.
