Reaper Invasion - Codename: Nemesis

Carlos was enraged. Chronos was ignoring him! "After all this time!" He thought. "He just prefers to fight sailors and giant robots! ... Wait a minute, those aren't Deletors. Those are allies! Just what the hell is happening here?". Before he could investigate further, a big piece of debris fell to his head and knocked him out.

Eventually he woke up  of the now vanished Recklessness Dragon, feeling more pain than usual. The list of blows he received today was just extraordinary - First the fight against the girl of his dreams, next the sudden headache from hell, and now this. He scanned the area, looking for a familiar face. In the end, the only thing he found was rubble, rubble and more rubble. In the distance, he identified the floating figure of Chronos, bound by what appeared to be black rings, arguing with the Reaper codenamed Sovereign. "... Just what the hell are you trying to do, Chronos?" He asked himself, running towards them. "What the actual hell, Chronos!?" He shouted.

"I don't want to do this... but I know I don't have a choice..." Raiden said as he placed his deck down. He didn't want her hurt, but he knew she wouldn't listen to words.

Light Battles Darkness: Bonds of Paladins Tested!

The battle was brutal for Raiden, taking heavy damage from each blow. He deactivated his Reality Bangle at the start to reduce the damage he could inflict on her. It was reduced, but not removed. Mirai's power saw to that. The Bangle also had a shield meant to reduce damage inflicted within a Vanguard fight, and that was gone too. Raiden took the full brunt of everything.

Every attack, every slash, every stab... it all burned on Raiden's aching body. He cried out in agony but he still fought to help Mirai. Any words he spoke meant nothing. He realized that she was beyond words. He fought with all he had, surviving her Break Ride with a Quintet Wall and answering back with his own. His Break Ride was guarded and he knew not to inflict another damage, otherwise her Legion skill would be the end of him.

She used Break Ride once again, showing Dragruler Phantom. He took its skill, a stab that did no damage on the Vanguard field, but he felt it all the same. A final attack was launched. As he could do nothing, he pleaded, 'Please... give me something... anything... that can help her...'

As if in response to this, the Reality Bangle activated on its own. Bleioberis stuck out its spear. It pierced the chest of Dragruler, sending a powerful light into the unit. It was still cut down by the attack. The damage was not a heal trigger. Raiden lost, and within the pain and blood, he fell to the ground, threatening to bleed to death. Even if he did die, he only hoped that the light that touched Mirai's darkness could allow her to see who she really was.

"..."

"So it is really you.. Or should I say.. The Fake you. Tsubasa was one of the first friends I ever made, one of the first I looked at as a brother and one who helped me alot in the past. And I can tell you for a fact that you are not the real Tsubasa!" Neo said as he started to get an angry tone.

"Haruto has every right not to go by your side, your not his true brother! Your nothing but a tool for Nemesis!"

Just as Neo was ready to pull out his deck, Knuckle Buster told Neo:

"Not yet"

The fight between Blank and Darren only lasted a few moments but it was clear that Darren's deck was responding to his every command, his triggers would respond to his every call so much so as to break Blank's guard but a heal trigger would keep him at bay. Great Daikaiser's limit break clashed with Jack Percival's Legion and it was only when Blank and Darren had started to summom their most powerful units did Blank receive the signal to retreat stating that he was needed elsewhere with Harbringer, "...I see, well i'm afraid we'll have to resume this another time Darren I am needed elsewhere however..." with a slight movement by his hands small fireballs exploded at Riko and Neo and any nearby individuals aside from Darren and Haruto as he unheated his blade and stabbed Darren quickly through the left side of his chest, "Don't interfere next time I speak with my family, otherwise I won't be so lineant. " as he removed the blade from Darren's body swiftly, his wings appearing as he began to take flight. "Take note of this Haruto, if you want your family back, join me."

The figure took off heading to Reaper HQ to check up on the condition that everyone was in after the events that took place, but at the same time something snapped within Haruto, seeing his brother leave along with all the bent up emotions he felt at the time forced him into an explosive state and he needed to take his anger out on someone, with Percival and Aglovale unconscious no one could stop this sudden rush of emotion "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Why??? WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO STAND AGAINST ME HAVING A NORMAL LIFE???!!!!" enraged the boy summoned his bluish Flames and was prepared to fire a large stream of it at the only two individuals in his sight, the injured Darren and Riko.

The battle enraged Darren, the thought that someone he looked up to as a hero was being used for something like this. Harbinger needed to pay. To start, he would stop Haruto from going to her and to him. He fought hard to make that happen and his deck responded. Critical after critical, as if he was summoning them by his own might. He even managed to bring forth the power that made him a Seed to begin with, the power that matched Stride, Ultimate Dimensional Robo Great Daikaiser. Its triple drive refilled Darren's hand, and even when Blank's powerful Prominence unit appeared and stopped him from guarding with Perfect Guards, he had defense.

He looked at his deck and field and realized he couldn't afford to hold back. He needed to be stronger, stronger and stronger if he was going to save the ones he cared for, protect the world. Goyusha used the power of Trans Dimension to open the dimensional gateway and evolve Great Daiyusha into his true form.

However, this was different from before. Both Darren and the unit were glowing brightly. As he moved to attack, he and Darren moved in sync. He prepared to strike before the fight was stopped. Darren wanted to continue, to end this, but a pulse ran through his head. The Ultimate Daikaiser reverted back to normal as Darren's eyes went blank. He looked like he would pass out, but that was when the stab to the chest came. Normally, he would begin healing, the Seed would close the wound and begin to mend him. That didn't happen this time. He had used too much energy for it to happen. He laid on the ground, lifeless and unmoving as the events beyond this point happened.

Neo watched Blank's fireball zip past him. As if it was only a warning, because Neo knew Blank had the power to do much worse but he decided to hold back. Blank walked off back to wherever he was going and then out of Nowhere, Haruto started going nuts. Who could blame him? He just saw his brother as a reaper. Who knows what is going through his head right now, but Neo refused to let him do something he was going to regret. He then saw Haruto summon his Bluish Flames and was ready to attack people.

"Haruto stop! This isnt what you want to do right now!" Neo screamed out.

But his words wasnt getting to him. So it was time for action!

"Ahhhhh!!!!" Neo screamed running toward Haruto

Wait Neo, What are you doing?!" Knuckle Buster asked

"Trust me!"

Neo ran toward Haruto and summoned all of the power of Knuckle Buster into his fist and punched Haruto knocking him out cold.

*Pant* that should.. keep him knocked out for awhile. I wasnt going to.. let him hurt anyone else"

Neo then picked up Haruto and had to think of what to do next.. and then he thought about it. "Maybe taking him back to the base was the best thing..." But Neo was unsure.. He then saw a lifeless Darren off to the side and walked over to pick him up as well.

Dont worry guys.. Ill protect you both" Neo said

Neo then started walking back to the base to get them both treated and hopefully to save Darren after his battle..

Riko quickly appered next to them and looked at neo. "I'll take one so you can move faster." he offred to neo, as his unit ChatNor showed up next to him.

"We should not stay here, something tells me that we dont want to be in the vincinty when he unleshes the attack." Chatnor said to them.

The battle between the twin Seeds was one wrought with misery. Two sides of the same coin: Both had given up, though one had chosen to erase everyone's future, while the other had chosen to do nothing and fade away in silence. Aedan's Gold Paladin troop had a somber tone about them, as they advanced toward the Shadow Paladins under Mirai's command: a battle that should not be fought, and yet occurred anyway. Throughout the fight, Aedan tried to reason with Mirai, to pull her from this path... to no avail. Memories of his previous life flashed, and the Seed incarnation before him was his sister from another time line. He knew from the start who she was, so that was his hope, that he could turn Mirai away from the path she had set herself upon. That failing, his resolve changed from changing her mind... to defeating the threat. With Blond Ezel against Mordred, Ezel's advance and ability to power up from his allies while pulling a critical in a twin drive drove Mordred against the wall. Mordred survived long enough to reveal his evolution into Dragruler, a form that Aedan predicted would show up at some point. Sacrificing her own rear guards, Mirai pushed Aedan's damage to five, without even attacking though a well timed draw trigger allowed him to survive. Upon the start of his turn, a golden aura enveloped him, swirling around him almost like a gale that produced no wind. "Peel back the shadows that linger here, Incandescent Silver Wolf, Garmore! Ride!" he chanted, a new form of the Silver Wolf appearing, glaring up at Dragruler, his armor and weapons glinting softly before glowing bright expelling the shadows. "Seek mate! Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel!" he'd chant once more, the blazing lion appearing at Garmore's side. Chaining skills together, while powering up not only the Vanguard, but rear guards as well, allowing everyone to strike above Dragruler's current strength... and driving the Abyss Dragon to a defeat. As the battle of former Seeds ended, Aedan turned his head away from Mirai, possibly to hide the tears of guilt that ran down his face. "Don't die before I do again." he spoke, though doubtful she heard him.

The golden energy continued to swirl around Aedan as he set his sights on Nemesis, the threat that had been created from a remade Yukino. Another memory flashed from his past life, his deal with the Resistance Commander upon the body of the first Seed he killed. He glanced toward the block of ice, before looking away from it quickly, barely noticing Fubuki flailing uselessly against the boulder. Feeling his energy building even now, the young man retrieved the two Ezel cards he'd been holding before confronting Mirai, one in each hand. "You're sure about this? You'll..." Ezel's voice chimed, echoing in his mind to which Aedan shrugged. "No one's going to really miss me." Both cards began to glow, then burst into pellets of golden light and the swirling energy around Aedan grew into a fierce twister, now causing gusts of wind to blow about the battlefield. From within the twister, there was a soft light. As the light grew brighter, the twister began to die down, then all at once it seemed to stop... the twister and the light vanished, the light now before Nemesis... and a blade lashed out, the sheer force of it causing a burst of wind.

Chronos and Sovereign proceeded to resume their brawl, with the Resistance bombarding the two of them. Their courage and fire were renewed at the sight of the Reaper's skull being cracked open. The same weakness that led them to destroy all the other Reapers so far except Hydra, Legion, and Harbinger! Carlos called out to the rebellion leader several times, and the spirit refused to respond to that simple-minded fool. Why bother? He of all people definitely wouldn't understand the need for a revolution. The Gear Dragon that gifted him with Detonics Dragons basically abandoned him! Chronos needed to revolt for people like him! Sovereign's assaults combined with Resistance attacks were repelled by Shy Gear Raven, ten thousand powered shields, and Chronoscommand. Though, the Vanguard of Destruction whipped its claw forward, whereas the spirit dodged, but a large chunk of debris was launched at Carlos' direction.

Chronos hated humanity...

... but that was the first human he met that tried to reach out to him with his innocent attitude.

Chronos instinctively stretched his arm out to protect the simple soul, flinging the debris through time and warping it to slam into the Daunting Deletor, who didn't even flinch.

"Damn!" The Spirit of Time cursed as Sovereign's claw balled into a fist punched him, launching him into Chronoscommand, who fell backward.

A column of light appeared on the battlefield, and Nemesis' eyes immediately caught the glimpse of a blade. She had no time to translate the burst of power, who it was from, or even what was happening. Her masters the drones and the reapers weren't paying attention, leaving the owner of this energy to the devices of whoever was dealing with him at present. Clearly, that was nobody. Her body was far too damaged to react quickly enough, despite how fast she could see it coming. So, Photon gave a resounding "Tch...!!" materializing by himself instead of Blaster Joker, summoning Promethium with him to stop the attack with his Perfect Defense. The traitorous Star-vader of emotion had to protect his "toys", Exculpate and Ahmes, so he went at Aedan with the speed and skill that... almost compared to Ahmes. He was no Swordsman of Light when it came to swordsmanship, recalling his bitter defeat against Blaster Blade Seeker.

In the meantime, Nemesis rebooted a number of her lagging applications, summoning Ace and synchronizing the movements of her detached blades with her undulating arms and legs. Allowing Ace to move on his own, the super weapon swept her left arm, launching her swords with a sweeping motion to cut at Aedan. Her avatar unleashed lightning of Void, blasting it from several directions in an attempt to surround him.

Nemesis fought as if she was with Royal Paladin, fighting alongside ally cyberoids.

The cocoon of frost couldn't be cracked, despite Fubuki's beating on it. However, Aoi's form-- a slumbering maiden in peace could now be faintly seen. She slept heavily in the deep ice, unmoving like a corpse.

Chronos was ignoring him again! This enraged Carlos more and more. "Chronos!! Say something, goddammit!!". He was so furious that he couldn't see the giant chunk of debris coming at him until it was too late...

Or that's what he thought. Carlos saw clearly how the Agent of Time redirected the coming debris with some timey-wimey magic power and slammed Sovereign with it. However, the giant Deletor didn't even flinch. The invader then punched Chronos so hard, he fell into the giant mechanical dragon behind him. "Chronos!" He shouted, summoning Detonics Stinger Dragon instinctively in order to defend his comrade. The size of the Thunder Dragon paled at the size of the mythical and powerful Gear Dragon, even more at the size of the opposing alien Deletor. If he said he wasn't trembling in fear, one could say it was obvious he was lying... But he remained in position, prepared to fight, as attacks from the Resistance kept coming from all sides. "Chronos, are you alright!?" He asked his friend.

Mirai was on the ground nearly unconscious as the black and red aura that enveloped her was fading away. The light everyone defeated her darkness with has won. It reached her heart as every single doubt and despair was being erased by the hope of everyone who fought her. Aoi, Aedan, and Raiden. Their strength broke through the darkness and brought back the Mirai everyone preferred. The Revenger deck she wielded was also being purified by her comrade's light. Instead of Revenge, her heart and deck began to Seek hope. Hope that she can reconcile and live out the remaining time in peace, or at least help end the nightmare of the Reapers so that peaceful can return. As the aura faded completely away from her body and deck, she began to regain consciousness. At the same time, Phantom Blaster Abyss and Blaster Dark began to purify themselves as well as the rest of the deck. The Dragon of Hell reverting once more to it's glorified time as the Guardian Dragon of the Sanctuary and the Knight of Shadows reverting back to what could of been his Royal Knight had he not taken the path to darkness.

"U...ugh..." Mirai was in pain, her body withstanding some serious hits from her cardfights as well as bleeding from a side of her forehead. Blood staining her blond hair as she attempted to get up to a crawl. "I... need to... get up...." The weakened Seed with blurry vision saw Raiden bleeding out from the near fatal blow she had dealt to him with Dragruler. It was thanks to him that the collective Light from Aoi, Aedan, and himself managed to pierce through. "Someone.... help us...."

As the blade rebounded off of the barrier put up by Promethium, a second slash came from the side to circumvent the barrier, this time the force dispersing the torrential gale. Amidst the waning wind, Aedan stood in bright golden armor, his blackened hair now a piercing yellow. In each hand he held a serrated long sword. As the blades advanced to rend his flesh from bone, and the void lightning surrounded him... the former Seed, now using the power of transcendence went to kick Photon and Promethium back before leaping backwards and up, out of the danger while simultaneously swinging with both of his own blades, throwing out a cross shaped wave of energy that sped toward Photon, Ace and Nemesis. From the corner of his mouth, blood poured out running down along his chin and neck into the collar of his armor. The strain of keeping all of that energy in his mortal frame was already taking it's toll.

This is how I cope.


Haruka called the shots this time around. He pushed every boundary that his units could possibly put forth, not allowing for even the brevity of lapse breaks that were all so necessary in this kind of battle. Every fight was critical, every strike against this woman who he wanted all so badly to be Yukino. Though it wasn't. Not to him, not anymore. The way she spoke, acted, everything. It was a digital horrorterror that he wanted to escape from, but he knew that he could never allow something that shared her face to exist on this planet if she herself couldn't.

That was his thought process anyways.

Though it was far mostly a stalemate, Haruka pushed forward even when his rear-guards could not, putting Lambros' mettle to the test in a match of endurance. He just barely managed to survive the incoming onslaught of this robotic disastarophe. He placed his entirety in the battle, until the very last strike that Lambros managed to push out with the aid of suppressive fire from Hermes. This thing that Yuki-- Nemesis, called Ace, was steadily taking a beating from the Aqua Force, whilst being restricted heavily by the binding black rings. It was only the final strike that Haruka had thought the deal was done. He felt fatigue strike him as he fell to a knee, looking at his captains stand to his right now accounting for their losses, as the over-titans of Sovereign and Chronos.

Rallies, cheers, excitement. What at first Haruka thought was a success, a battle they had finally come to see success with... was fabricated by the generic will of the world. To believe that victory was eminent if one believed it so. It this boy whose endurance began to fail, that knew the truth behind the matter.

Haruka was incapable of defeating the Meister. What happened here was merely a distraction.

Nothingness.



This is how I cope.

A spear of nothingness shot past Haruka, and through Lambros and Thavas. It wasn't until he felt the weight, or rather... lack thereof.

With not being able to save the world.

They were gone.

Haruka's chest emptied, excavated itself, and became a catacombs left for the organs to reside but with nothing humane left inside.

The haunting robotic terror emerged from the building that she had been promptly ejected into a moment ago. Sovereign cackled, and Haruka felt the agony run rampant down his spine like an aphrodisiac that worked in reverse, only amplifying the effects of pain. He bit his tongue, attempting to stand up straight.

That was the moment that Haruka caught wind of Bashiro. Or rather, caught sound of him. His eyes shifted from the ground, his weary and distraught breath now shifting to the background, watching as the God Hands struck down on Sovereign. He was running. He was running fast. No, he was sprinting it felt like. This man was pouring his very everything into whatever he was doing. Though Haruka had to question what he was going to do, as every moment his foot stepped closer to that being, the larger the threat became.

If it weren't for the fact that Haruka's life, his wife, his avatar, and soon all of everything he once knew and loved, was perishing, he might have screamed for him. His voice might have reached the brutish thug. His cry would have saved that free spirit, that was now reaching for the heavens in the only way he knew how.

He was taking infinity from the sky and making it his own.

And then, like all of the aforementioned things that Haruka noted, he too was gone. In a flash, his existence ceased.

Haruka stayed knelt. Bashiro, Thavas, and Lambros. Those were the names that sat on the tip of Haruka's tongue now. They were the bitter taste that he couldn't ever get rid of because now they were simply memories. The only thing that existed of them, the only thing he could keep from them now, were the memories that set them apart from everyone else. From what the remaining Aqua Force units were saying through the static and panic, even the Ripple Vanguard was currently in a state of sub-zero or something of that apparent state. He waved them off, standing shakily to his feet. He shuffled over, vulnerable.

He placed his hand on the fur of Okuri, the one who saved his life from Nemesis only moments ago. The sound of warfare and dying cheers existed within that boundary, but not within the small field of which Haruka existed now. All that was there was a failing mental stability and a waning heart. He ruffled his hands through Okuri's fur, slowly pulling the body from the soil and into his arms. He walked across the field, speaking softly into his bangle.

But no words came, just rough static from his end. He ended the transmission, feeling his lips bitterly tremble. No, he didn't feel it. It just happened. The nerves all across his skin and were soon numbing, as this was the only way he knew how to cope. If he could not feel the pain, then he could lose to it. Becoming numb was how he coped with not being able to save those he loved. Those he cared about. Those who counted on him. Those who followed him into hell in the stead of his beloved who once did. Haruka's fingers gripped Okuri's fur intensely, his face contorting into one of disgust and disfigured pathological apathy.

Sera laid quietly against that tree, the blood now dried around his lips and his eyes focused on only Sovereign and the damage being done. Chronos being fought off by the Resistance. He wanted to call it futile, unnecessary and completely and absolutely obsolete. Yet, even hope sparked in his heart lightly, like a pilot light that still holds embers.

Photon and Promethium were knocked by the bursting transcendent warrior, and Ace's lightning was dodged. Nemesis grit her teeth in an attempt to react, only to be hindered by another malfunctioning explosion at her equipment. The cyborg continued to bleed, unable to get over taking so, so much damage from the four who fought against her prior. Even so, the defiant and stubborn Yukino Espoir went beyond the limits, further invoking her overclocked state, and watching as her foe released a wave of energy at them. Photon disappeared, waiting for Nemesis to summon him later when it's safer while leaving her and Ace to take the attack. Blaster Joker rushed to her defense, and Nemesis released a beam of Void. ... Or rather, would have released a beam of Void if she could've mustered it. Unable to do so, the two took the brunt of the blast, both of them crying out in pain.

Nemesis had no choice but to use her energy concerning beams scarcely, leaving her only with her detached blades.

Blaster Joker hollered with blind fury, getting balance for himself and grabbing his partner. The blades detached and Ace rushed with his own, Nemesis trying to strike at the Stridden soldier with two sets of pairs, while the fifth sword came from behind to stab.

"Carlos?!" Chronos finally acknowledged him vocally, seeing Detonics Stinger come into the duel of the old ones. The temporal renegade thought him foolish not in a way of "move, worm", but rather, "Don't risk your life, fool!". Sovereign howled, launching a number of lesser Reapers in the direction of Gear Chronicle's revolution dragon and the Thunder Dragon, while also spewing Void from its mouth to attack them from every angle possible. Chronos responded by manipulating time in an attempt to save Detonics if it didn't move while also saving his ally: Chronoscommand Dragon, who appeared behind Sovereign.

His sudden shift in focus to attack the Dragons instead of the fighters was an opening.

Chronoscommand Revolution slammed his entire body into the Daunting Deletor, the eldritch wailing and cursing in gibberish as they crashed into the ground.

Where life had seemed to vanish there was now a spark. A touch had created it. Jolting the fallen spirit's body and shocking it into some sort of life. Haruka was holding Okuri now, gripping onto him tightly even. This sensation made its way to the spirit's mind.

What was he experiencing? A dream? A forest he'd long since forgotten. He'd been there once millennia ago as a pup. He was low to the ground looking up at another of his kind. His mother? The face looked at him tenderly, almost as if welcoming him somewhere. But then it distorted and faded. And to replace it there was only pain.

Slowly signs of life returned to Okuri's eyes and they finally blinked. He violently twitched as his brain regained a grasp of motor controls. However the new commander's grip stopped him from moving too much. He had regained consciousness as signified by the faint but nevertheless present reactivation of his reality bangle. His legs stirred and twitched as he attempted to move but then the worst came. An unimaginable pain in his chest. His body resumed breathing forcing the collapsed lungs open and moving the injured parts of his body rather forcefully. Broken ribs most likely. Okuri let out a howl in response and then another violent coughing fit took place. This time it was longer and harder and more blood that had built up in his lungs was coughed up on the ground beside Haruka. After a minute it seemed to be over and the wolf creature simply lay there softly whimpering with every breath.

Haruka's face seemed more than distraught. Something truly awful must have happened. The man hardly seemed aware of reality. Weakly lifting up his head Okuri licked his face once to see if he could snap him back into focus.

"Haruka..." he managed to say though the vibrations in his chest from it hurt immensely. "What..." he managed to start no doubt meaning to ask what had happened. But speaking was too painful. Everything hurt. Haruka was alive though and he seemed to still be alive by some miracle. Perhaps this wasn't as hopeless as he had thought.

At the onslaught, Aedan went to dodge again and yet... misstepped. Through his abdomen he felt fire, coughing up his crimson life while continuing to try and backpedal. Now both injured and slowing being crushed under the power of transcendence, the Irish champion began to slow... mustering enough strength to bat away the other detatched blades, and blade locked with Ace... panting. He couldn't keep this up much longer, he knew. To that, he resolved himself to attempt one last thing: to erase the corruption before him with the last of his waning strength. His eyes flashed gold, a pillar of blinding light emanating from his very being, pulsing out violently. As it would fade, Aedan himself would be kneeling upon the ground, the vast majority of his golden armor gone, and the rest slowly dissolving. The detatched blade that had impaled him moments ago was ejected from his body by the force of the blast. He couldn't look up to see if he succeeded, as the last of his strength and trancendence left his body, he collapsed backwards... Wheezing as his lung had been piereced. No matter the outcome of his last attempt, he was done for, his essence pooling around his battered frame.

Nemesis called back Ace as quickly as possible in response to the beam of light, not fast enough to prevent him from suffering damage, but enough to save him from being wiped out. She confirmed that her target was hit at least, and that was enough. The severity of the damage inflicted to Blaster Joker needed to be examined later... That aside, android rushed at him, only to fall down onto the ground from her severe damages. Through this, she stammered, struggled, and tripped to make her way toward her target. Crawling and clawing at the earth like her original self would for victory. She let loose eldritch screaming, frustrated with her lack of ability to end this and the four she fought faster. Regardless, she called back the blade that had been ejected to her hand instead of letting it float about,

Her determined anger was a steep contrast from her mirror, the Queen who grinned and laughed mockingly at the Seed.

Rocketing herself forward with all she could muster without releasing her lock on Chronos, the blade and Aedan's flesh met once agani, brutally impaling him with incredible velocity.

Nothing seemed to want to sit still, his vision wavering, his breathing ragged... the broken body of Aedan lay there, staring at the sky. The mix of the injury, and the drain of his power caused his consciousness to slowly slip away. The right and fall of his chest as he breathed, though difficult with the hole in his lung, grew slower and weaker... Another fire sparking in his already frail frame. The blade rammed into him by the enemy he failed to kill caused him to open his mouth in a pathetic attempt to gasp... only nothing came. With the additional injury, and his already drained strength, the world around him grew dark, until he could see nothing. His breathing stopped, and the life left his eyes. Aedan perished, once more failing to as he'd promised.

"Oh, so you finally remember me! But we'll talk about this this later! We have more urgent matters at hand!" Carlos said to the Agent of Time. "And don't you dare to give me that look! I don't know what the hell happened to make you fight both the Reapers and the Resistance, but right now we have the same enemy - That giant squid!". Soon after, said 'giant squid' launched and attack of black nothingness while a lot of smaller Deletors charged towards the Gear Dragon and the Thunder Dragon. "What the- !?".

Using the same timey-wimey magic power that he used to deflect the chunk of debris that nearly crushed the young cardfighter, Chronos managed to slow the progress of that black nothingness that was coming from all angles. "Wow, you got pretty good reflexes for someone being squeezed to death by a black ring" Carlos said as the giant mechanical dragon tackled the eldritch abomination into the ground. "Lets justify the oxygen we consume, Detonics Stinger! Launch the best attack you got!" He then commanded his Unit to attack and destroy the lesser Reapers that kept coming their way.

Chronos scoffed at Carlos' words, willing to fight alongside him specifically so long as he didn't get in the way of the revolt. Rising from the rubble and into the sky, facing off against the eldritch destroying outer god... The old ones of Gear Chronicle and Brandt began the war of time versus erasure, the temporal revolution against the obliterators of space. Sovereign reminded Chronos that he's nothing but a dog of Chronojet Dragon, and the spirit of time retorted that the Gear Dragon is a false savior who he no longer follows. The ancient entities clashed, sending their armies of gearoids and lesser reapers into one another, but Carlos' brave Thunder Dragon stood firm, blasting and calling down the lightning of kings to hinder their advances. This left the Resistance confused... for a short minute. Was Chronos on their side now? That was answered when Gear Chronicle attacked Sovereign and humanity indiscriminately. This was ridiculous, as not even the rebel agent was doing enough damage with the Reaper's weakpoint exposed. Not that it really stopped Chronos.

Sovereign charged in himself, attacking the renegade who fought no differently from most heroes: with comrades. Completely devoted did the majority of his unit come to his aid. "The flow of time and life will continue, so even fools like him can prosper."

He would never admit it out loud, but humans did in fact change him.

Carlos especially.

Chronoscommand appeared with Ephemeral-wand, and the Reapers were focused into an interesting stalemate against Stride. Though it undid their erasure, Sovereign powered himself up to match the speed and tempo of a G Unit with his own army. Endlessly did he taunt Chronos, who spewed more and more about his revolution. As if screaming: "Do you see that, Chronojet?! I'm doing something!!" Truly defiant and powerful, the insurgent struck ferociously, bending the laws of time and space-time to attack the Vanguard of Destruction, capitalizing grandly on the Reapers' drawback: they generate raw advantage poorly. If their turns aren't damaging enough, they fall behind with their steep costs that can only be weighed out by onhits and the like. Thus, Chronoscommand Revolution was the MVP, giving Sovereign smaller and smaller resources to work with.

But Sovereign was still strong enough to manage what was left to him and attack violently. The truly strongest Reaper held not the slightest tinge of fear or remorse. Every turn he could, he made Ephemeral-wand suffer, reducing his power to zero as he stood dauntlessly against the Daunting Deletor for all of his clan. Unable to make use of the Generation Break Two or the Heart Beat to its full extend, Chronos simply fought with what he had.

"It's time to end this drama with your demise!!" Chronos roared his trademark phrase once again, his clock attached to back shining blue as Chronoscommand Revolution was knocked backward by Sovereign. "Chrono Erosion!!" The rebel howled, letting loose a temporal blast that did not initially aim for his foe. Instead, he started by aiming it far to the left, carrying it toward the right to blow away and disintegrate those caught in the wake of the energy beam. Humanity was spared from the disintegration, thankfully, but the lesser Reapers weren't. And Sovereign himself took an amazing blow from it.

Nemesis pulled her blade from Aedan, leaving his corpse on the battlegrounds with a cold glare. ... One of her masters was in trouble, and she barely had any power to help. She fought five opponents, and was still standing, but even the Exculpate the Blaster of Void had a limit, despite seeming like one couldn't possibly exist. So all she could do... was tighten the black rings on Chronos.

"Augh!!" The spirit hissed and winced upon his triple drive, completely unable to move by the undying resolve of duty. He... couldn't perform his third Drive Check!!

"AHAHAHA!! I COMMEND YOU HARBINGER! THIS DOLL WAS A BRILLIANT IDEA! DROWN IN DESPAIR, TOOL OF TIME. IT WILL ALL BE ERASED. YOU ARE AND WILL BE NOTHING!!"

"No... Not like this... It's not supposed to be like this...!"

Sovereign attacked, erasing the Wand Dragon once more, coating his claw in Void and striking at Chronoscommand Dragon with it, then holding onto the massive Gear Dragon, swallowing it up in nothingness as much as possible as it wailed while literally proceeding to slam dunk onto the revolutionary.

"Not like this!! This isn't the end! Even if NOBODY wants me, I'll do it! I'll protect and govern time! I'll save it from you ugly abominations who only know how to destroy!! IT WON'T GO THE WAY YOU WANT IT! GEAR CHRONICLE'S AMBITIONS DO NOT END WITH HIM! THEY END WITH ME!!"

Sovereign dunked him with Void, devouring him whole with his ally.

... The temporal renegade was gone as the mass of nothing dissipated.

"WE'RE LEAVING!" The damaged Reaper ordered to the remaining drones and lesser Deletors. Man tried to bombard him while his weakness was wide open, but to no avail, as his body was still far too sturdy. Nemesis flew off with him, notably losing altitude due to her damages multiple times, but still escaping regardless.

The longest battle in this war of hope and despair ended with the ambitions of the old one who wanted to change everything.
