Lake Miseria Empty Re: Lake Miseria

Post by Guest Wed Dec 09, 2015 3:35 am

Having wandered off from the Outskirts, Sen arrived at the Lake once again listening to music on full blast and bobing his head around while also scanning his surroundings "Last place seemed like a miss and now you lead me to a lake? I can't help you if you don't tell me what to exactly to look for you know.." he said outloud, as if speaking to himself while continuing to walk around looking for something.

Over at the lake, the sun was beginning to retreat over the trees, its last rays shining over the surface of the water. A young man sat with his head and arms resting on his knees, taking in the beauty of nature.

Satoshi Kurosaki had a lot on his mind. What he had talked to the guys in the slums about...the situation with the Deletor attacks...his difficulty staying in contact with Yukino and Haruka. All of these things were swimming in his head as he stared with half-lidded eyes out at the water.

He wrinkled his nose. Things weren't going well for Earth right now, and if they kept being this way, who knows how much time they all had left. He debated trying to contact the young Miss Espoir again with his cell, keeping in mind the stress of events recently occurred.

Then, Mizumi moved to the forefront of his mind. That girl, so talkative and in some ways almost a bit bratty...but caring for one of his best friends in his time of need. And their dance at the beach...it felt so...

"Dammit..." Satoshi muttered. He slid up his contacts to Mizumi and sent exactly how he was feeling at the moment.

So many things happening at once, and all I can do right now is sit at this lake and think of you.

The second he hit send, a wave of guilt went through him. Maybe he shouldn't have sent that. It wasn't a big deal, wasn't her fault or anything. That text could be perceived as accusatory in some way. Yet...it was just the truth. He shook his head, putting his phone on the ground and staring out at the lake again, the tip of his nose resting on his wrists.

"One of these days I'll learn..."

Back at the Toshiki Estate...

"What do you MEAN he isn't in his room?!"

Mizumi was yelling at Uncle Toshiki at the top of her lungs. Haruka had disappeared from the room he was being kept in during his coma-induced state. Sera had been off doing his weekly repentance at the outskirts so he wasn't watching him as usual. Mizumi was out grocery shopping for the house, so it was left on the shoulders of the blood-related uncle to watch his only nephew. Then, up and out of nowhere, he vanishes.

Rubbing her temples with a hot-head, she feels her phone vibrate in her back pocket. Shooting a deadman's glare at the uncle to stay put, she flips open her cell-phone. The red on her face that was originally pure anger, was now a mixed with embarrassment and giddiness.

Hi, Satoshi. That's really sweet of you. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you since the last time you visited, a lot has been going on is all, you know how it is. We should meet up for a meal sometime, yeah? Oh, as a sidenote.... uhm, just wondering, have you seen Haruka about? Just let me know if you see him, and contact me immediately if you do!

Thanks!! -xx Mizumi

Satoshi noticed he had gotten a response nearly as soon as he had sent the text, and the contents made him jump up to his feet.

He's up and about? I thought he was with you still! That was the case, at least, last he was by the uncle's residence. Well, that was just another thing to worry about. He grumbled a bit, rubbing his temples. If Haruka was up, then there was some stuff to deal with, including what happened in the Deletor attack to him in particular.

Though, the other reason was to make sure he and Yukino didn't see each other just yet...perhaps for their own good, so that things weren't made even more stressful between the three of them with how Yukino would likely want to protect Haruka from such a fight again.

I haven't seen him at all. I'll let you know right away. And... He blushed a bit as he typed the last part. I'd love to. Maybe this nice place I know near the woods.

Hmm? By the woods... Yeah, I haven't heard of a place like that. Give me a call or something whenever you wanna meet up, okay? Thanks again. Also, I forgot to ask, how are you and Haruka and Yukino doing? Haruka told me vaguely once that he made some friends a few years ago. Though he never brought it up again and now I get this business that he is apparently dating her or something? Idunno. Tell me a bit about you 3, would you? A story never hurts.

Mizumi was genuinely interested to know more of Haruka's mysterious background.

I'll tell you when we meet up, I promise. I'm gonna do a bit of looking around.

Satoshi paused a moment, then:

If I had to guess how they are at the moment, they're about as scatterbrained as me to some capacity, if not more so.

A risky guess. It was likely half-true, with Haruka being the reason for it. Yukino...she was generally calm and collected unless faced with true despair, so...

Well, whatever. Satoshi sent the text with an "x" of his own, pocketed his phone while taking one last look at the sunset, then started to head back in the direction of civilization. Time to find a nerd.

Karin jogged at a steady pace around the edge of the lake. She was still moving a bit slower than usual, having not fully recovered from the Reaper fight, but she was getting there. She often found herself doing laps around the lake most mornings for exercise anyway, so this was a pretty natural routine for her.

She stopped after around 45 minutes, taking a few minutes to look across the lake. It was a pretty big lake, definitely more than a few miles around, and she'd already completed three laps, around two-thirds of the way into her fourth. Walking to the edge of the water, she reached down and cupped her hands, scooping up some and splashing it on her face. It wasn't a particularly hot day, but it helped to cool her down a little.

Lake Miseria Empty Re: Lake Miseria

Post by Best Girl Tue Mar 15, 2016 5:55 pm

The wind blew, a man's head ringing with an order. His bright red hair flowed with a passing gale, uneven at the sides, having a single bang hanging in front of his forehead and curled toward the right, teal eye. Wearing a purple shirt underneath a thin orange jacket with charcoal gray pants, this boy full of colors glared toward the Kagero player of the Resistance: Karin. A scowl filled with furious disdain and discontent, stabbing at the back with a silent curse.

This was the disappointment.

Invisible, intangible, was an enormous flame dragon that stood behind its partner.

A point.

A fireball that emerged from the darkness of inconspicuousness, flying toward the athlete.

As if by instinct, Karin dipped her foot into the water before spinning around on the spot, her foot connecting with the fireball, sending it flying past her into the water. Steam came off the sole of her shoe where water and fire collided. Lowering her foot, Karin looked out to her attacker. She didn't recognize him at all.

"And who are you supposed to be?"

"Solis", the offender spoke, the ethereal beast still looming behind him. "I came here to... 'talk' to you, and vent fury for allowing my partner of this timeline to suffer as much as possible before giving him sweet bliss." This man of fire explained that he was here not just for an order, but rather, an emotion. This colleague he was referring to... surely, she knew. It was right behind him. Before doing as he was told, Solis decided to play a game of how much he could punish Karin. Teal eyes set ablaze by a bloodthirsty desire, homing ferociousness and wrath.

Karin locked eyes with this man named Solis, her own eyes burning with a different sort of fire. A fire of resolve, like they had done the previous night. Just who was this guy?

Then Karin felt it. The familiar pulse of heat. The warmth that resonated so perfectly with her own aura. It was impossible, she had thought, but reality was proving her wrong.

"...You have an Overlord? No, you have to. I can feel it from here."

Karin felt her own aura begin to flare up again. It was significantly weaker than last night, still not fully recovered, but it glowed very faintly around her, reflecting off the surface of the lake. "In that case, tell me... Why, and more importantly how, are you here?"

"How did you let this happen to Dragonic Overlord?" Solis began angrily, "How did you let him suffer, then once his pain was over, you revive him in that ghastly form of Reverse, only for him to burn away the left behind spirit in this timeline?! You and that droll - the other Overlord user!"

This man spoke of himself as the Overlord's companion, one who could not bare to see even the warmonging dragon roar in agony from any injury - any battle wound at all. Even with scars that tell of his strength and experience, the boy could not stand for it as much as the flame dragon itself could.

"I'm here to 'talk' to you, as I just said. How I'm here is something I'll tell you in a moment..."

Overlord roared, shaking the earth, the trees... the water of the lake rippled in terror of that which was a flame's ghost. A deck of cards came into Solis' hand out of fire, motioning for a challenge.

Karin's eyes widened. She couldn't see it, but she definitely heard it, faintly- The roar of Overlord. The cards appeared at Solis' hand, and...

...Karin took her own deck out. This man claimed to be with Overlord, and his presence seemed to prove it, more or less. That being the case, this was a challenge she couldn't refuse. That, and she wanted answers. Just what did this guy want from her?

"I don't know what you're on about, talking as if I was the one who hurt Overlord in some way, but I can tell you that you're wrong."

Red Pulse for Red Pulse, Menace Laser for Menace Laser, Perdition for Perdition. "Of course it was Kagero", one would be led to believe. "Of course it would be Red Pulse", Karin stated from the start. The man Solis utilized a similar deck to his foe, only instead of Vortex Dragonewt, his partner: Dragonic Overlord the Great from another timeline spearheaded the deck. With the same ferocious power Karin herself would command, Solis only needed one turn to destroy a Menace Laser, then strike at Pain Laser with a Critical.

After that, it wasn't a game. Karin just couldn't do it.

She couldn't attack the one they both called a friend. While admirable, the redhead was insulted by such tactics. Not only that, but the violent persona Overlord showed was irritated with the lack of a real battle. This flame dragon did not know Karin, and personally didn't really care if she's the friend of him in another world. The Overlord of this world would and should feel the same. There is only one companion for them each, and one world for them to stampede over each. It snarled as Solis began preaching of "Harbinger" as a God of "Salvation". Death lingers as a spirit filled with regrets, watching turmoil forever, knowing that their marks in history were for naught when calamity would and will strike over and over. Heroes will all die the same way, disaster will return all the same.

But not when deleted.

To be erased is to no longer be: to be absolved from an afterlife of regrets - of an existence knowing the world will be in danger again and again and again without end.

To "delete" the world in this final war, was to achieve a peace beyond measure: the death of futures with no peace, the birth of an eternity of nothing but comfortable endings. To cease thinking.

That belief led Solis and Overlord to have the power of "delete".

Critical Trigger, Critical Trigger, Critical Trigger...

"If you want what I offered you, find Shop Handosme."

Solis placed his hands in his pocket, leaving with the ethereal Kagero leader.

Karin just couldn't do it. She wanted to fight back, to strike out against this man who claimed Kagero's power for his own, who had befriended another timeline's Overlord... But she couldn't. It was still Overlord to her.

It attacked her with full force. But it was still Overlord.

It erased her vanguard. But it was still Overlord.

It wanted to destroy her, the world, and everything else in between.

...But it was still Overlord.

Karin picked her cards back up, putting them away- save for her own deleted copies of Overlord. She stared at them. This was what Overlord decided on. This was the path to power that he sought. This was the future he desired to create, or as it was in this case, delete.

Karin nodded to herself, and off she went.

Sitting next to the water, Trinity was relaxing in this time of peace. She knew it would not last so she was making the best of it. Today she had decided to...practice her singing privately near the lake's surface. It felt nostalgic to her every time she sang, and today was no different, like something was missing. She continue to sing on her spare time, hoping maybe whatever it was would come back to her. Maybe something from her childhood? A forgotten passion? Only time would tell Trinity hoped.

Cabbage.

A young maiden of green twin tails had come to find Solis and Karin, only to see particles of flames fly away with the blowing of wind, signaling that they were already gone. An irritated sigh, "Ugh..." the lettuce complained. At least one target was still here. They should be happy with this.

"Hey, washed up singer", she insulted Trinity, approaching the melody-filled woman. "You're coming with me to see Harbinger. It's time you did your job and make your songs mean something again."

This little punk was fifty shades of rude.

"She wants you to and I said so, stop asking questions. I don't feel like dragging your unconscious body."

The cabbage's hands glowed with the might of void, as all those affiliated with Link Joker could conjure. Only, instead of the typical ooze or orbs that signaled erasure, this little one's fingertip had a black sphere with two red rings circling about it.

"I can use the Star-vaders to lock you and your little chink Bermuda friends if you don't hurry up."

Now Trinity was high alert the minute she saw the spectacle. It was like before with that monster. "You're with that thing that attacked aren't you? Then there's no way I'm coming peacefully!!" She had her deck out, the bracelet she had snagged a while ago ready to bring her Witches to life, though she was a bit hesitant about it with the loss of two of them. She didn't mention it but Trinity also wondered why she would threaten with locking Bermudas. Sure she had a deck of them she liked every once in a while but she never used them with her bracelet before. So why? A nagging feeling like when she sang seem to try and give her an answer but it just wouldn't be clear to her.

"Ugh... Making me do work."

Lettuce was upset and wanted a break, along with better pay. Without batting an eye, her finger swiped the air - cutting the wind in half as the lock orb was launched at the target before any of the Shadow Paladin Witches could be summoned. It hit Trinity directly, then expanded - the orb vanishing and rings clamping down on her body, restricting her movements. The constricting bindings squeezed as the cabbage gained the ability to levitate the victim's body about freely, using her finger as a controller.

"I'm making you pay for this when you're a drone."

She began departing with a trophy - a reincarnated Seed.
