Headquarters.

Cero Kirguis' Cardfight Training facility had a floor completely occupied by the Resistance. A group of fighters and scientists devoted to repelling Link Joker with unified technology and prowess through skill and connections. The woman who set this up - Yugure Espoir - returned immediately. Coming back from Hawaii, the report of Nebula Lord being slain was made to both HQ and Cray through the Liberators. She found no comfort in the aftermath of this, however, knowing the Clown was still alive. The Star-vaders were still being pushed back significantly, which was a good sign to everyone else. As a war general workaholic, though, she couldn't share this sentiment of relief. Boots tapping on the floor, status updates about Japan's state were given in full. Some concern about happenings on Gotem City, but it didn't sound like Link Joker was the cause.

The Reality Bangle she wore was placed on a table. A small circlet device that amplified her power and more to fight this war. Developers were quite amazed to hear it was mostly a success. Others were impressed with the handiwork of the one with the Meister's powers.

"Get back to work", she barked at the gawking idiots. Instead of just staring at it all day, logging data of it is a better use of time.

"You could relax some", Ezel stated. "Everything is turning in our favor so far. The main things left for us to do would be beat up the Clown and stop Overlord's rampage."

Fair enough. Cray's situation was looking up, as plenty of Unreversing was going about. Link Joker lost a good number of its commanders, resulting in the planet being able to strike back. Overlord... was another matter. Still, it was something to look up about.

After only a short time, Karin and Haruka came to the gateway to the CFTA. It wasn't the tallest building she had ever seen, but it was certainly up there in size. "A resistance against those Reverse things, huh..."

Looking over the large building, Karin felt a little uneasy, intimidated, even. She could feel something coming from inside, but couldn't tell what it was. All she knew is that it felt almost menacing, though not violent or harmful. "Well, if you think someone here can help us, we may as well go in."

"Right..."

Gulp. Haruka practically sealed away his life for the meantime while everyone does what they can to save the world. Hopefully by putting an end to Sera here and now, nobody will have to be hurt anymore. Even if it means Haruka won't be around to see the world he fixed, or at least sacrificed himself for.

Well, no time like the present.

"Okay, Karin. I'm going to walk in. Do not be alarmed by anything that happens, just... Relax."

Haruka cracks his neck on both sides, tenses his shoulders, and walks in through the broken, sliding glass doors. Upon entering, his face is instantly recognized and what seems like soldiers from thin air are already trying to keep the boy from moving.

"Freeze!" They seemingly all yell in unison.

"I'm not guilty, I swe- Eh, who am I kidding." Haruka throws his hands up and drops to his knees, waiting for his lovely queen to come deal with him. At least, he hoped it would be her. If Cero was the one dealing with him, it might not be so forgiving to tell this plan out in detail...

"Commander, we got the demon spawn of Link Joker inside of the vicinity."

"What?" Yugure was completely confused by the report from an entrance guard.

"The seed, man!"

They weren't sure if Haruka was surrendering or this is part of Sera's grand design. Either way, the soldiers displayed one simple fact: the resistance was done messing around. They had real, genuine weapons at the ready. Mostly guns. Even if they couldn't fight against the magical forces used by the heroes and villains with cards, humanity's foot soldiers could at least shoot and hope it works. At the same time, while holding this resolution to deal with this malicious Seraphim... a good number of them were nervous. Visibly trembling while trying to hold a steeled expression. Not recognizing the other girl, guns were at the ready to deal with her too. This duo could be in cahoots!

The elevator opened, Yugure and two scientists coming out of it.

"Arms down."

"But-"

"Try pulling the trigger on him. I dare you."

The General was never known to be laid back anymore. Even so, there's one of three major acts that will put her in an incredibly violent mindset: threatening Haruka. It was quite clear if they shot, they'd be mutilated like Nebula Lord was. Reluctantly, weapons were sheathed and holstered. ... Then Yugure summoned Blaster Dark's claymore, approaching her lover. A sigh was let out, having some sort of idea as to what this was.

"Get up, come here, and tell me what you're doing."

Ever-so demanding the queen was of her boyfriend. While the sword was intimidating, it was more of a defensive stance if anything. She'd never attack him.

Karin stood with her jaw slightly open, utterly and hopelessly confused by what she has just seen. Within moments, she had gone from walking three feet into a building with a new friend, to being held at gunpoint, to being confronted with who she could only assume was the intimidating presence she had felt earlier. And certainly, this woman's presence was intimidating.

"U-Um, we came here about the Reverse situation... He-" Karin gestured towards Haruka with her head, though she kept her hands raised in the air, trying to keep herself as un-threatening as possible. "-said he had an idea to, at least, help with one of the big bad guys. He said someone here could help him."

"Hey honey, good to see you. You look great by the way." Haruka smiled before slowly standing up. A few of the gunman even pulled their guns back up and locked on him again. He stared at them with a look of disdain. How pitiful. A teenager walks into a building and almost gets shot for no reason?

Rude.

"I have an idea for you. Promise you'll love it. It involves possibly sending me to my death and dealing with Sera in one go. Two birds, one stone."

He was morbidly joking, but was serious about taking Sera out without much difficulty. However it would require strong fighters that Overlord found presentable. Yukino is an obvious one, and showing from his skills yesterday that Diablo fellow could easily take on the second half of the project.

"So, wanna hear it?" He walked up to Yukino, hands still up in the air.

"Karin, meet Yukino Espoir, head of the Resistance. Er, I call her Yukino anyways but she sort of resents the name." Haruka shrugged, turning back to his darling.

"Like she said. The plan. And by two birds, I meant Sera and Dragonic Overlord the Re-Birth. What do you think?" He put his hands at his side slowly. Not like Yukino wasn't combat ready now, if Sera really strained for this fight, he'd have to deal with guns AND Blaster Dark. Not happening at the current energy level.

"Allow me to explain."

Sliding some stray papers and a pistol off a table and onto the floor, Haruka took a seat on it, clasping his hands together.

"Yukino. You have to tear me in half. I need somebody who can operate the energy splitter. If my theory is correct, and I know it is, Sera doesn't have a human shape he can take on without duplicating me. He is a ball of energy, not a solid thing, you know? So, by that standard, if you strip the spacetime distortion from me, Sera will be dragged out with it, creating what I believe to be a duplicate of me. Or at least, what Sera would look like when he's inside of me and controlling the body."

He looked up, then at Karin, nodded, then back to Yukino, clasping a hand to her shoulder.

"You have to trust me on this one. Regardless of what happens to me afterward, if you can stabilize the solid mass of Sera and the body he creates, he'll be duplicated with his deck. With Re-Birth. If somebody strong enough defeats him AND Overlord, maybe. Just maybe, Overlord will give up the Reverse power. If the Vanguard he is fighting for who has all the Reverse power in the world cannot beat somebody else, why would he even keep it himself? He has better things to do... I'll have to fight too in order to compensate for the lack of energy. Two halves make a whole so I'll be participating in it as well as proof that Overlord doesn't need Reverse or any lock or anything to be powerful."

Haruka leans back a bit, waiting to see what Yukino has to say about the plan. Its a longshot, and it might only end with Haruka's life ending and Overlord wreaking havoc city-wide, but its the only chance they have now.

"What do you say, Yukino?"

Sera remained quiet. He knew what this meant. The blood inside of the vessel began to boil for sure.

Ezel and others giggled about his opening compliment. While flattering, Yugure pushed it aside in mind to listen. The soldiers very carefully watched Haruka move about. Blaster Dark was planted into the ground, and the queen leaned back on it. A sickening premonition washed over, a feeling she was used to. And instincts proved right - Haruka was talking about sacrifice. The woman would've headbutt him again like she did before back at the manor, but she decided: listen to the whole thing first, then hit him. Before he started, Haruka introduced the other visitor. A gloved hand was raised by the queen, giving a hand motion that Karin was safe and not a threat.

To be fair, most of them were too busy focusing on the guy with the entity that's trying to kill them all to keep Karin at gunpoint.

"Yugure", she introduced her preferred name to the girl.

The United Sanctuary's forces were rather ecstatic to hear about any plan to stop Overlord the Rebirth. Whenever the Reversed Winds of Apocalypse showed up, death and destruction followed. Every nation has already expected him ripping the earth asunder, and the flame dragon was barely fighting people. The Chosen Sword, however, wasn't on board with any plan that inflicted suffering upon Haruka. Tear him in half? How could he come up with something like that to her of all people?

Oh, right, the General was experienced in violent brutality.

These two met with "Yukino" kneeing him in the face, if she recalls. Honestly, this was a smart choice on Haruka's end for that alone.

Even at the cost of her beloved's life... Humanity and Cray were running out of options. The war only just recently swung back in their favor, and with Link Joker's sheer numbers, along with Overlord's mass destruction... getting equal ground is equivalent to stalling for time. The soldier in her says go along with it, the human in her says look for another way. ... Is there another way for the woman who didn't believe in miracles happening by chance?

A deep inhale, a deeper exhale, pinching the bridge of her nose... Visibly distraught, she was.

"Is... there a safer way to do this?"

No, of course there isn't.

Miracles aren't real unless you make them real, and nobody here had the power to do such as it stands.

"... Haruka..."

Someone wanted to believe in the possibility part of Haruka's death having a very low chance of happening. Being as pessimistic as she was, however, the Chosen Sword probably wouldn't believe anybody.

Leaning into Yukino's ear, tracing his hand around Blaster Dark, Haruka spoke softly. His voice shook with a resonance unmatched to any other, but Yukino knew just as well that he was serious about this.

"If I asked you to pick up this sword, and tear a hole in my chest. If I asked you to end my life right now, you'd do it. Not because you want to... but because if you have even the smallest semblance of a rationale in your head or your heart, you'd understand it has to be done for the sake of something bigger than the both of us."

He stepped back, revealing Karin once more.

"This isn't about us anymore, or the Cardfight Club, or Japan even. It's about the world we swore to protect and love as human beings. Yukino Espoir, I came to you because I trust you. So don't look for a 'safer' option. You know the longer we wait for this, the harder its going to be later. With Chaos Breaker Dragon and Overlord both rampaging as we speak, time is already clocking out..."

He bit his dry bottom lip, pocketing his hands and staring at Yukino with the eyes he had a year and some ago. The day they met at this very place, before it was even a building. She was an Ice Queen and he was a "plebeian," or so she called him. But who would have thought the contempt she had for him them would turn into a blossoming love that would only come back to bite both of them because existence said so.

What a cruel fate.

"If you won't do it for the world, or the country, or our friends, or even for me... Then do it for Cray. Do it for those who are being affected on another world, right. Now."

His voice was shaky, clearly starting to tremble with a mixed tinge of anger and despair and desperate joy he was trying to show off with his cheeky smile and signature dumb posture.

Yukino really should hit him right now for being so dumb. But all Haruka could do was put up the face Yukino wants to see, at least until its all over.

"Karin. Thanks for coming today. Its safe here and I promise we'll get Overlord back. Together, right?" He turned his neck to face her halfway. He grin only rose to keep the atmosphere from falling any farther south.

"And the world. I have faith in you guys, so, I'll leave it in your hands." Haruka outstretched his arms as if awaiting to get handcuffed and locked away. He knew there was no time to prepare for this event ahead of time, so this would have to take a day or two of preparation, maybe longer.

"Karin, we'll talk when this is over, alright? Take care of everyone, yeah?"

To Yukino.

"Now, you. Do what you've always wanted to do you sick sadist and throw some cuffs on me, lock me up in a dark room and make me suffer." Haruka laughed at his own comment but tears promptly formed around the corners of his eyes.

Haruto ran through the somewhat chilling night, his only though was to find that area where he met Yukino and everyone else before the Hawaii, just thinking about his first Vanguard fight brought a smile onto his face.

"-pant- -pant- I can't wait, I can finally see that world, the world my brother sees....there it is I see the building." he said, as he saw the lights coming from the facility as it stood in the night as a symbol of survival, the place had gone through many incidents but still stands until this day.

Haruto's excitement made him speed up slightly in order to arrive at the door quickly and make his request, so much so that he pushed his already tired body to it's limits. Upon arrival at the front door he panted a bit, his eyes closed, until he rose his head and looked at the situation that unfolded in front of him...

"!!...What on earth...they look they're arresting someone, I can see Yukino but who is...no...it can't be...not Haruka, what could he have done to deserve this...-flashback to time at the beach-...NO, you're not alone!" he said, as the door slid open and Haruto exclaimed for things to stop. "Yukino-senpai you can't do this! Haruka is not guilty of anything i'm sure of it! If you're not willing to stop this, then i'll stop this myself!" he said, as his hands seemed to move on their own, grabbing the deck and challenging anyone who would stand in his way, Yukino, the young girl standing between him and the scene or any of the other gun holders who seemed to get their guns ready for action upon his entrance.

"...How can this kid not be afraid by now?..." thought Ahmes. "..Runs in the family I guess...but he does not even know how to use the deck, yet here he is challenging a Vanguard of the Paladins and a Vanguard chosen by Overlord...not bad...not very smart but not bad."

"I am a soldier."

That's what she wanted to say, but it didn't come out. That was her only answer. Vanishing for one- two years was for the sake of...

Of what?

What did the hollow words of "I am a title" mean?

Yugure took note of Haruto's brave entry. She didn't turn, instead running a hand through her hair in quiet frustration, but she noticed.

"Yes!! You go, lil' bro! Blind courage, ignoring idiocy, is how paladins work! I'm proud of you!" Ezel shouted. Anyone with common sense could judge Haruto challenging armed men and three insanely powerful figthers with his lack of experience is... well... Not very bright. Still, the lion praised him. Reckless bravery is the wya of heroes. These Hayatos were like his pride and joy. Marron had to remind him he's not their dad as he was crying.

"Bring me a set of handcuffs", Yugure finally decided with an order to the grunts. The fantasy of locking Haruka up in a dark room with herself, him covered in bindings of any sort... What a sick fetish that only comes in the most sickening circumstances. Everyone wanted to say his resolution is commendable, yet, didn't think it'd soothe anyone's hearts. The woman was arresting her beloved to save two worlds, and that very man is willing to throw his life away for it. A Paladin in his own right. Soldiers moved in front of Yugure and Haruka to block off Haruto's interruption. The metal bindings came to the Chosen Sword's hands.

"... I'll... take you up on that offer."

A weak, wry, despair-induced smile was formed.

Karin blinked. Just like that, she had found herself involved in something much larger than she ever could have imagined. A friend she had just made was talking about sacrificing himself for the good of the world, the person she could only assume was his lover (or some form of significant other) had been presented with an extreme decision, and Karin herself had just been given an incredible volume of information that she had almost no idea what to do with. She could barely muster words.

Then, another boy entered the scene.

Karin, of course, didn't recognize this boy, but he seemed intent on stopping what was happening. Likely he didn't know the details. Finding some ounce of strength and focus in her, Karin blocked the boy's way. "Hey, it's okay. Haruka came here by himself, he knows what he's doing. He'll be alright." Karin put a hand on the boy's shoulder, both to try and reassure him as well as to keep him back. She looked back at Yugure, still a little shaken by what had just happened. "...Something tells me she will make sure everything goes okay."

"Thank you..." Was all his trembling voice was able to muster out for all that had happened. Even as Haruto appeared on the scene, Haruka turned around shaking his head. He looked at him in the eyes as the clasps roughly bound his wrists together.

"Haruto, don't worry. Everything is going to be, just fine... I prom-promise.." Haruka's voice started to crack up. Sniffling up the tears that were starting to burst, he shook his head, with a devious grin like he usually wore. Something to keep the boy in higher spirits. No use bringing everyone down with the ship. This was a time for celebration... the world was one step closer to being saved.

"I don't expect you to be gentle either," Haruka remarked, peering through the corners of his eyes to his now... semi-lust driven lover. She seemed to at least be enjoying this part. Or maybe hated every second of it. Or, as Haruka and Sera had agreed upon; she simply hated the fact that she loved what she would get to do to him.

"Karin, Haruto, everyone. Thank you again for having my back and for listening to my words. This isn't good bye, because I'll be back. I've died before so this isn't new for me or anything. Just think of it as a see-ya."

"So. See-ya!" Haruka refused to.... no.

He couldn't.

There was no way he could.

Haruka couldn't look at them again. Not with a straight face. He could only look forward, ahead at Yukino. And even then, his face was warped with an incomprehensible level of pure and ugly despair. His fate was sealed and in the hands of a woman he trusts, but will that be enough?

"Let's go." This was the last 'request' he'd ever utter for a while once under these binds. From here on out, he was a captive of the Resistance, and Yukino's plaything until they had the preparations ready to split the good from the ugly.

Haruka and Sera.

Watching Yukino take Haruka the way she did was something beyond shocking to witness, especially since he did not know the reason, the only feelings guiding his actions right now, were those of a connection he felt with a friend he made just a day ago. These emotions surfaced even more when he saw Haruka's face as he said his farewells, before turning around to hide how he truly felt, something Haruto understood deeply...

-flashback 8 years ago-

"I'm sorry about this, but I have to, for our sakes..." said Tsubasa as he packed his things and prepared to leave Fei's home.
"...I understand Aniki..don't you worry about me..I'll take care of everything from this end, Fei and Auntie will be in my care." said Haruto with a forced smile on his face.
"...Take care..." he said.
"....Aniki...no...please change your mind...you don't have to blame yourself...for me.....no..." thought the young boy as he turned around, hiding his now covered in tears face from his brother's eyes.

-end of flashback-

"....This is a front..." he thought.

The young lady that approached him seemed, calming at least, but for Haruto he was far from calm at this point, he decided to do something he never thought he would do..

With a steady motion he took the girl's hand and removed it from his shoulder as he started to walk fast towards the direction where Haruka was being taken, somewhere he would probably not ever reach any moment later, he was ready to cardfight or fight his way through anyone who stood in his path, as long as it mean't that he could save a person he bonded with.

"Don't just walk away, I won't let this continue, I won't let you do this to someone who does not deserve this treatment!...even if I have to cardfight all of you...I will not let this continue!" he exclaimed.

Karin allowed her hand to be removed from the boy's shoulder, only for Karin to do something more. She grabbed the boy, lifted him up into the air swiftly, and planted him firmly back down on the ground in front of her.

"Stop." Karin spoke with a harsh, sharp tone to her voice. She stared the child straight in the eye, glaring at him intently. "Whatever Haruka is doing, he knows he's doing what's best for everyone. I don't understand it much myself, but all we can do is wait, and hold onto our hopes for him. This is something bigger than either of us. Do you understand?" Karin's voice carried a sting to it, but also a sense of gentleness to it. She wasn't mad, but was dead serious. She didn't know Haruka very well, but if her Overlord had vested trust into him, she would as well. Taking a step back, Karin let out a small sigh.

"Now... I'm sure they'll let us stay here, at least that's what Haruka said. So we'll stay here and wait for him. Alright?"

Haruto barely felt himself being placed from one place to another the way Karin moved him so easily and swiftly, was it because of his resolve/focus right now? Or was it just Karin and her impressive reflexes? Either way one thing was certain, looking at the girl they did not seem to be that far apart in terms of age, height wise he was almost face to face to her in a solid standing position, this made him not take very kindly to her stubbornness.

"..How can you say that...how can you stand there and watch a friend being dragged away for no solid reason...you may know more about this than me, but I know one thing that is above all, Haruka is not guilty or deserving of all this." he said, his eyes, fixated on hers, delivering a piercing gaze of determination.

"..I appreciate what you're trying to do, but i'm not interested in letting someone slip away while I have a chance to help..-takes out deckbox- ...I may not know how to use this but if i have to get where I want with it then I will." he said, issuing his challenge to the young lady.

Yugure had Haruka sealed in a closed off chamber, connected only to an observation room. Naturally, they'd have to get research done toward understanding the nature of Sera within Haruka, and how to go about splitting them apart. Yunos suggested the use of Blaster Blade and Blaster Dark, which would be the easiest way to go about it. Despite knowing that, the woman was reluctant. Even though she wanted to take up her beloved's offer for her to be a sick sadist for a night... nothing happened. All she did was stare at him. Are you okay with this? Do you really want this? You don't want this. We can find another way to save everyone. Don't you want that? Please don't let us do this. Those were all things her expressions spoke. Words themselves didn't actually come out.

The worst part was just wanting to hug and kiss him and believe everything will be alright. Yet, doing so would only solidify the fact that these would be the last times she'd ever get to do them. She didn't want to just go through their last embrace to get it over it, she didn't even want it to be their last.

Nobody else was allowed to come see them. No scientists, no guards... It was cruel, having left Haruto to be blocked by guards and that girl. But they couldn't waste this chance, and seeing Haruka here like this wouldn't have made him feel any better.

"I'll be back soon, sweetie", was all she said after what felt like an eternity. The flow of time failed to register for so long... Yugure simply got up, nodded toward him, and left.

The Paladins noted Alfred's expressions of turmoil. Ahmes made an inquiry about his troubles.

"What were the Liberators established for if we cannot save those right next to us?"

His Majesty was shaken like the Chosen Sword. However, it was not a matter of love for him. It was watching his nation fall apart with Ramiel and Ashlei being Reversed, Chaos Breaker's invading, along with them being able to barely combat against Link Joker... Hearing the entire state of Cray left Alfred in a deep, dark pool of doubt they could do next to nothing about. Unfortunately, no one had any real answer to his question. Ezel himself choked back any sort of guess.

Yugure and Alfred mirrored each other as they have been constantly over the course of this war.

"You don't even know how to play? Alright... I guess I'll teach you, then."

So began Karin's extended lesson to Haruto on the workings of Vanguard. Kagero versus Gold Paladins. The game took few unexpected turns, and proceeded fairly normally, no missed rides and a couple triggers here and there. As Karin explained each rule and mechanic, they eventually reached the point where they were both beginning to push eachother, Karin settling at 4 damage, and Haruto at 3. That was when Karin decided to include an additional lesson.

"Imagine it" she began, having the boy shut his eyes to focus. "You, the strong and noble Knight of the Liberators, Gancelot, staring down a blazing field of the Dragon Empire's finest soldiers. And at the head of that army stands myself, the mighty and relentless Dauntless Drive Dragon." Karin described this imaginary fight partially in jest, but both her and Haruto began to feel it resonate with themselves, truly. Their fight had turned from a simple game to a clash of their spirits. Haruto turned the tables on Karin, and the Liberators overwhelmed her forces. Karin checked her sixth damage with a sigh and a smile.

"Looks like you got me. You learn fast." Sliding her cards back into place, she straightened out her deck and replaced it into her deck box, stowing it safely away. "It was a good fight, and I'm glad we both got to have fun with it."

"I'll be back soon, sweetie."

That was the last thing his conscious mind picked up on as he finally laid back in the stainless steel chair and his mind went into a conclusive whirlwind of simple madness. Sera was extremely furious with Haruka for deploying such a plan; expecting the airheaded fool to never come up with something clear enough to split the energies.

Haruka was fighting his bodily urge to break and manifest during a consciousness switch. Sera was desperately fighting to tear through Haruka's mind and stop him from doing this... yet Haruka's will became steadfast, a wall of an indescribably power. Sera was not only baffled to be beaten physically, but mentally too. He couldn't access Haruka's thoughts anymore like before.

You. What do you think you're doing?

Fixing the problem.

The problem? That's not a nice way to treat your guests, you know?

You aren't a guest! You INVADED my body. I never asked for you to be here.

What is your damage, by the way?

My damage? You! You are my damage. Because of your very existence, the people I love are suffering and fighting an unnecessary war.

You don't even know who you are, do you? We're in the same boat sunshine, time to hit you with a little bit of knowledge. You absolute dimwit.

What are you talking about-?

Shut up and give me your memory bank.

Why would I do that?

Do you want the truth, or not?

Haruka's physical state remained untouched, but his mind was whirring about.

______________________________________________________________________________

Inside of a mental landscape created by Sera and Haruka, there were decisions left and right as two ethereal bodies formed of the same vessel. Two Haruka's, one inversed in color, the other was Haruka himself. They sat across from each other in a room, much like the captive room her was already sitting in.

On the table was a gun, loaded with one bullet. Russian Roulette, of sorts. Sera took the gun. Pulled back the hammer and-

Blank.

It slid over to Haruka. He blinked, staring at the gun.

Up to his temple it went.

"Is this what you want?... Of course it is."

Sera nodded, watching as Haruka pulled the trigger and... bang!

With the bullet that was penetrating Haruka’s mind, access to his memory bank would be given over to Sera in order to show him the proper world they once existed in. The world he would no longer see again, and to show the truth behind everything.

Into a burning field.

Haruka stood in a burning field, surrounded by thousands and thousands of people. None of them were running, none even screamed. They all silently stood there. Every single one of them gazed at Haruka, sitting in the field on his knees. The only thing in his hand, was a sword.... a long, familiar sword. In fact, everything from around here felt familiar. The fire, the atmosphere. Everything.

Arms. Grey arms wrapped around his neck, and a high-pitched whisper went into Haruka's ear.

"Everything will be alright. Everything. Will. Be. Alright."

Haruka pulled out of the grasp, kicking up the earth under him to make an escape. As he turned, he caught a glimpse of the person who told him these words. Yukino Espoir stood there. A decrepit, twisted, wry grin was sitting on here face. She was totally in yandere mode right now. Or just really angry.

Haruka blinked a few times. Suddenly, everything came into proper perspective. He even noticed that all of the people that had surrounded him were all familiar faces, in duplicates of themselves, all greyscaled.

Hundreds of Tsubasas and Ceros and Roses and Seifers all just lined the area. Even Karins and Shikis were starting to close around Haruka. In unison, like a broken record they all chanted to him.

".thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE.thgirlA .eB .lliW .gnihtyrevE .akuraH thgirla eb lliw gnithyrevE"

Distorted and decrepit soldiers of grey flesh spoke in backwards tongues as they approached Haruka with loving and wrathful gazes. Haruka gripped the sword he found upon appearing here.

The blade of the Wind of the Apocalypse. He rose it up, put his head down, and screamed. He screamed a warcry he never imagined he would scream so loud before. With the mightiest rally of strength, he swung that sword. He swung is over and over and over and over and over until every bit of grey was cut from his life and turned to dust. Every Yukino, every Karin, every single of them lay dead. Dusted.

"Bravo, sunshine. You can kill zombies. Good to know your heart is in the right place, eh?"

"Why won't you just DIE?! What kind of home is this anyways?!"

Haruka was pissed. He was very very pissed. The sounds of the voices did not disappear even if the clockwork bodies were disposed of though. The sound of righteous hell was pounding through his head.

"I hate you, I hate you so much. I hate everything about you and the fact you exist comes to prove that, you know? I really do hate you so much….”

“I know you do, Haruka. I hate me too sometimes. But I know deep down you don’t really mean that..”

Haruka looked up to see the ugly face of Sera, his own face transmogrified into some other version of itself. He was disgusted with everything. Everyone and everything to him was just unbelievably unnecessary right now.

“If I could kill myself and get rid of you in the process, I would.”

“Why don’t you then?”

“I’m not the selfish prick you think I am.”

Haruka stood up, arms simply swaying in front him, head drooped down to keep his eyes focused on the ground. The grass was a hue of grey, but tinted orange by the only real color in this world. The fire.

Those flames off in the distance were a magnificent orange and red, combined to create a backdrop to this glorified metaphorical hell that Haruka dove into with the intention of Sera trying to kill him in.

If Sera could not kill him in the real world, killing Haruka in his mind would do the trick. If Haruka were to kill himself here, he would die in his brain. If something willed his death, it would mean that he would go into a coma or a mental shock and be stuck in this reality forever.

Haruka's own memories could mean his death if he wasn't careful about it right now.

Just as Haruka was about to pass out, give up even, one voice spoke out from all the rest. The sound of a voice he knew all too well. The voice he had heard in his sleep and the one he had heard for most of his life in the past two years.

“Haruka… everything will be alright.”

That phrase. That damned phrase. I swear to god if one more person utters that phrase I’ll kill every last single person I see in my life!

Haruka picked up the sword he had literally massacred an entire dreamworld’s worth of people with, and swung it down once more like a guillotine. Another zombie down.

But the head rolled off this time, and not as dust. A head. With pure hair, light skin, and eyes that had life spewing from them. Yukino Espoir, a living breathing one, had just been decapitated by the hands of Haruka Nakahara in cold blood.

“H-Haruka… why would you do this to me?”

He froze. He froze solid, simply blinking at the corpse horror he was now witnessing. The only thing it had said was… why would you do this to me?

It vanished in nearly an instant after saying that. Leaving behind only the earrings Haruka had bought for her. Haruka dropped to his knees, lying in the dirt where the corpse was formerly just now. The sword fell by his side as he shut his eyes.

He shut his eyes and let out one last…

“Ah...ahhh...ahhh….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Dead silence followed, then only by ringing in the ears and the tolling of bells.

He proceeded to screamed at the top of his lungs, despite his new found deafness, and slammed his head into the ground.

______________________________________________________________________________

However that scream and slam seemed to have caused a true rift into reality as suddenly Haruka found himself waking from that dreaded nightmare in the real world. His teeth were pressuring his tongue as blood started to pour from it. Cuts in his mouth only further proofed his inert ability to keep his mouth shut.

He didn’t even scream when he woke up. He simply fell down from the stainless steel chair. The taste of iron flooded his senses as Sera, the imaginary force that constructed that false reality out of memories, was now the one in charge for a second.

Wow, Yukino won’t bang you up good so you find pleasure in cutting your own wounds yourself? A self-sufficient S&M huh?

“I’d bite off my own tongue off if it meant I never had to hear your voice again you sick piece of-”

He said this out loud. Haruka was too exhausted to simply think what he was going to respond. He had to say it out loud now.

“If I had killed myself back there with that sword and not Yukino, maybe I would have already saved everybody.”

You could have. But you took the selfish route and lived, and now the probability of success is even lower… How pitiful.

Haruka laid on that cold, iron floor as the sticky crimson poured from the corner of his lips and onto the ground. His eyes went dull. His insides and outsides hurt a lot.

“Why would you do this to me…”

Don’t you get it you good-for-nothing?! We aren’t from here? You are INVALID. You are a corrupted file in this program. We were never meant to exist in this world. This is not our DIMENSION. We are a seed all on its own from another timeline and brought here by another force to ruin everyones’ day. Your existence is proof you were only created to be something worthless… Your memories, and everything you cherish are lies. Your parents died in a housefire but you escaped? Please. You died. That’s right. In this timeline, Haruka Nakahara should be, dead. Deceased. Gone.

But somehow. You made it. Here you are today. Uncanny, huh? No, not really. I guess you're lucky that whoever threw you here grabbed away those bits of memory before you, you know, went on to kill Yukino again.

His mind broke. Haruka laid there, in shambles and tears and blood poured from the his nose and mouth.

Gross.

Cardfight Training Area Empty Re: Cardfight Training Area

"...This world...this game...it's amazing!" was the the thought that stayed in Haruto's mind as he saw the Planet Cray with his own eyes, through the fight with Karin.

It was strange at first to gather and understand the game for Haruto but after a few turns it became simpler for him to understand and he was able to make use of the mechanics of the game to his advantage, he could tell that Karin was not going full force against him, regardless of how generally strong she was, at least Tsubasa could tell. Nevertheless, the power of Dauntless Drive pushed Haruto extremely far in the game, forcing him to rely on Gancelot and Zenith to deal the last damage and win the cardfight.

"I appreciate the help from an amazing teacher." said Haruto smiling. "I'll believe in Haruka for now, after all Aniki won't let me.. - ow what was that for Aniki?" said Haruto, as retaliated from the weak knock that Tsubasa gave him on the head.

"For trashing my room, taking my deck, going out this late with Reverse on the loose and for coming here and pulling off this mess." said Tsubasa, as he tried to hide his smile about how great Haruto was today during the Cardfight. "Well at least it was not a total issue." he said, picking up his deck and putting it in his deck box.

"Thank you for tkaing care of my brother and, teaching him how to cardfight, I appreciate it." said Tsubasa, to Karin. "I'm Tsubasa by the way, Tsubasa Hayato."

Introductions were in order, despite the basic fight that he witnessed he could tell that this person was actually quite strong, and after she did him the favor of unwillingly keeping Haruto in check he had to give his respects.

Karin gave an awkward smile, feeling like she had intruded on a bit of a personal moment between the two brothers. "Ehehe, thank you... My name is Karin Ouriel. It's, um, nice to meet you."

Leaning back in her seat, Karin took a deep breath. She let her mind wander for a few moments, if only to collect her thoughts, as they were still a bit scattered. She had simply wanted to find her Overlord, but now she was sitting in a Resistance base, teaching some kid about Vanguard while waiting to hear about what would become of her new friend Haruka. Her life had gotten a whole lot more complicated in just a manner of hours. Standing up, Karin stretched her legs out. "It was nice to pass some time, too, but I would like to hear about what'll happen with Haruka soon..."

Karin seemed to be friendly enough, even though she looked like she was under the impression of being an outsider, but it was something difficult to change early, but she will come around soon hopefully. Nevertheless Tsubasa simply gave a smile to try to ease her up if possible, but what definitely shook his attention slightly was her mention of Haruka..

"Wait..Haruka?" he said. "What's wrong with Haruka what happened? He's a friend of mine I have not seen him in a while, is everything ok?" he asked.

"I wanna know too, it's why I got involved in the first place." said Haruto.

It seemed like the two brothers were relentless in their questions but they were merely genuinly worried about their mutual friend. Not to mention the fact that Tsubasa is aware about what Haruka is capable of as Sera.

In his state of defeat after the events in another dimension, Cero had been wandering without aim for several days. Somehow, some nameless person had gained the power of Stride... And he wasn't able to surpass it, nor even achieve it. Just like he had against Neu. Vermillion had died in vain, and Cero wasn't even close in power to when he was then. Somehow he had just gotten weaker. He hadn't been eating, and was barely drinking at all either.

After a while, he had ended up back in the training facility's ruins, barely even noticing the people standing guard with actual guns. Realizing where he was, he chose to head to a room that he believed no one else was aware of, as it was almost always locked and required a master keycard to enter, something that only 2 people had: Him and Yugure. However, he opened the door to find a sight he had never really expected to see: Haruka, the source of all this chaos, bleeding out on the floor. His despair transformed into rage, and Cero raised his palm to the man.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't end your suffering right now." This was less to actually save the earth and stop this chaos, and more out of envy that this man had been able to obtain power from Reverse without it controlling him. For some god forsaken reason, this fool was chosen over the Kaiser. For some reason, everyone else seemed to be given power in this country except him. Killing Haruka wouldn't really change any of this, but it would make Cero feel a lot better about himself.

Karin tilted her head to the brothers, though she continued with her motions, stretching her arms from one side to the other while she spoke. "I don't really know the details either. Haruka said someone here could help him fight against the Reverse stuff, and then his... girlfriend, I guess, came in and took him further inside." Swinging up one of her legs to the side, Karin held it behind her head for a few seconds, before alternating to the other one. "If I'm honest, I've only just met the guy today. He helped me out with a problem of mine, so I returned the favor, and now here I am. That's really all I know."

Yelling. Haruka could make out some muted yelling, after his ears had gone shot back in the dream world. He was really having a garbage day today but for some reason, he was relieved. A real person, someone alive, was near him and could confirm he was alive.

It was Cero.

I sort of wanna go back to the dream world now...

"Cero... I can't hear you that well. I'm not joking right now I'm sort of-"

His hearing cleared up towards the end of what Cero was saying. Something about ending Haruka's suffering. Haruka shook his head softly, tapping his temple to the wet floor. His white hair was stained red on the left side now, as it dribbled from the corner of his mouth.

"You should. Kill me I mean. Could fix a lot of things, you know?"

Haruka didn't mean for it to come out like that. He gritted his jaw, swallowed the remaining blood that was starting to dry in his mouth, and try again.

"Cero. I know you don't really like me, or who I am right now. That much is obvious... But believe me when I say that I'm on your side right now. I don't like me, and I wish I wasn't who I am." Haruka wasn't fighting it. He agreed with Cero wholely about the situation. He never wanted to cause pain to anybody, and the fact he had access to Reverse powers without actually being Reversed himself was infuriating because he didn't even want them in the first place!

"If you really want to kill me, everyone might be after you, but, I'd accept my fate."

Haruka finally motioned his eyes to the corner, to actually look at Cero. He couldn't get a great look at his expression, but he could assume it was a mix of annoyance and rage.
