Yugure just stared at her lover in disbelief for a moment. Honestly, for all their time together, she took his caffeine addiction for granted. After tasting it herself, he must've been a new kind of superhuman to just chug the thing down. That large gulp actually made her sweat. She can't even take a sip of it, but him...? Christ... The woman sighed, feeling defeated and disheartened almost. This challenge was quite something...

"Eldritch... eldritch... looking at them... looking... looking messes with your head", Yugure stammered again, just when she thought it was over with. An annoyed growl as she pulled on her hair with a free hand. "Otherworldly... abominations... nations... nations! Nations. Can't look at them with mortal eye, drives you... drives... drive. Drives you! Drives you crazy." The Chosen Sword tried to gather herself as she explained her speech failing before moving onto the dream. The girl just... needed a minute to focus. Yeah, okay, focus. Focus, focus, focus. Another sip, quiet gag, hold it in for a second, can't do it. Focus.

"They destroyed... my timeline. I had a dream of you and I... I... you... in a flower field... Haruka. Then, reaper. Reaper came down from sky. I heard it speak in a language I could understand. Not normal. Nobody on Cray could understand them. Brains translate to noises instead. I heard words. 'Arrival'. Wait, don't stay here if you've got work. Don't let me... don't... me... don't let me keep you from work."

Ugh.

Yugure's mind was clearly not focusing as well as she'd like. It was like she was in more of a waking nightmare than actually there with her two triadmates. It was likely Haruka's responsibility to do something here, but...

His hands were full.

Satoshi placed his mug on the ground, placed one hand on Yugure's back as she took another sip, and when her throat went to reflexively swallow, he gently pressed two fingers to her throat. She needed to focus, and this coffee would help get her mind out of disarray.

"Hold it in a ltitle. Like this. Let the fumes settle in your mouth a bit." A light rub of her throat. "Then swallow." This was how his mother had taught him to take coffee, and it proved to show how the beans themselves helped settle and comfort the mind before letting the heat come into the throat. Of course straight downing it was going to be bitter.

Haruka craned his neck watching how Satoshi handled the situation. It was actually a really good technique at getting first-timers to swallow down the brew considering its acidity, on top of the sweetness and bitter interacting and neutralizing.

Good stuff. Haruka couldn't do much with the platter and his own mug to attend to.

"Thanks, Satoshi. Good to know I can still count on you after so long." He nodded, lifting his mug in honor of the man once again. It had been awhile since the two talked in a long, long time.

With one final swig to finish his cup, he placed it on his platter, and set it down on a lower step nearby, returning to the fiasco he was witnessing of Yukino's inability to finish a cup of coffee. Such a powerful military leader... usurped by a morning beverage.

"We were in a field... flowers... that almost sounded like a pleasant dream until you mentioned the Reapers. Here, I'm here, relax. Your best friends are here, dear. Keep your head on. Breathe. Swallow the coffee while you're at it. But breathe."

He tried his best to soothe Yukino with words but, er, he's not very good at words. At least he could give her one piece of relief.

"Darling, I work for you. It's my job to be here right now, you aren't keeping me from anything. But more so than it being my job, I'd rather be with you than working." He gave a generous, obviously sincere smile.

"These Reapers... Arrival... That is way too foreboding for me. Do you know why you might have had a dream like that?"

He nodded to Satoshi at well.

"Thanks again for coming, by the way. I meant to ask, what are you doing here anyways?"

Yugure followed Satoshi's advice as he helped her hold it in... when all she wanted to do was swallow it. It still made her sick, but at the very least, just holding the caffeine in her throat for a couple of seconds helped her focus some more. Focusing helped block out the image of the Reaper, even if it occasionally popped up in sort of static-y pictures. Focus... focus... don't swallow, focus. ... The girl's face was a bit green again. This was hard...

After a few minutes of being able to keep it up, the girl swallowed just to get it out. It wasn't nearly as bad as immediately chugging it down, thankfully, so this was a great assist. "Ah... T-Thank you..." Yugure closed her eyes, holding them shut tight for a minute. She then put the mug down, and held her face in both of her hands, trying to calm herself more. Just having the other two of the triad here played its part in getting her to relax. Breathing was unsteady, body still shaking a bit... Satoshi's guidance and Haruka's warmth... yes... good.

"Ha..." Another shaky breath. "I think... the reapers are coming... and they have a personal score to settle with me since I got away..."

Maybe that wasn't it, but that thought had a bone-chilling amount of fear in it. The Reapers never finished their job in erasing everyone. No, she and her selective units got lucky, and made it back to this timeline first. But that was still terrifying. It was like they were on the run from serial killers. Despite the hardcore and stubborn mentality of the soldier, all the girl wanted to do was cry and beg them to go away.

"HQ... HQ... I need to... go back to HQ... Right. Read reports... get that sweater to the girl with Tetra-Drive..."

Focusing on work might be a good distraction. She still felt bad about taking Haruka from work too, despite his words. Wait... what words? He works... and would rather be here for her. No... there was something inbetween that. Works for someone. Someone, someone, someone, someone, someone.

"Argh!" Yugure slammed her fist on the ground. He just said he works for her!

Satoshi shook his head. "You're in no state to do stuff like that. C'mon. You know that." The hand on her back remained gentle, consoling her. "A lot's happened recently, and with how you are right now, you're not going back there. At least not alone." An initially stern look gave to a smile. "Let us help you."

He directed his attention to Haruka, giving a bit of a chuckle this time. "I came because I smelled that." He tilted his head at the coffee. "You make a damn good cup. I can't ignore it, I could smell it from down the block." He nodded. "Also, it's good to see you're doing alright given everything that's gone on, too."

Haruka was in agreement with Satoshi. No way Yukino could go to the HQ without at least people at her back. And the Triad were the perfect people to go along with her. After all, they were the ones who've been at her back since nearly Day 1, not counting the... currently absent sister idol.

With the coffee remark however, Haruka bowed in respect to Satoshi's comment. Anything directed at him towards his coffee that sounded relatively nice was something he cherished always. He absolutely adored getting compliments on his really own talent he developed over the years.

"Thank you... Really. I appreciate it, really. Thank you so much. A-Anyways..."

Haruka returned to a standing position and looking at the disgruntled Yukino Espoir. She was in a state of absolute disarray. She probably couldn't even tell which way was left at this point in time. Maybe Haruka should just go with Satoshi to take her too.

"Ahem... Miss Espoir, if you would grant me permission as a humble servant under your employ, to guide you to your destination and accompany you with your friend and accomplice."

Haruka tried really hard to create a formal butler bow, and not crack up laughing. He looked ridiculous, but at the same time, felt very refined. So this is what it meant to be a working man, huh?

"I'm... I'm... I'm not fine, am I?" The soldier finally submitted that she may be a bit more messed up than desired. Normally, she could put it aside, but now... in the face of these two especially, she really couldn't. Letting out a sigh, defeat, she was about to tell them both to come along before... Haruka tried to be all prim and proper again, calling her "Miss Espoir". This brought a small snicker, with evolved into a giggle, and then a bit of a laugh. Even with a suit on just like every single time, the girl simply could not take him seriously trying to be formal. It just wasn't him in her eyes.

"Alright, alright."

She tried to respond with a bit of annoyance, but she was obviously very happy to have them both with her. Especially Haruka's suggested escort.

"We're all going to HQ together."

Re: Espoir Mansion

Post by Jello on Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:55 pm

The sound of a pleasant still filled the kitchen of the Espoir household this afternoon. The aroma of a strong Royal Brew was in order, as butlers and maids alike flew out of the kitchen to meet the needs of the residents of the mansion.

Of these butlers and maids, was Haruka. In uniform, a red tie to stand-out among the geezers. His hair had grown longer over the past months, causing him to formally tie in a ponytail a majority of the time, unless asleep or showering. He wore a jovial grin as he served food and drink across the house, moving swiftly from hall-to-hall and dashing about. This was his job; but a job he had come to love in the past time.

Living with his beloved, his other half living the same room as him, and so many other joys filled his life as invasion had finally ended, the seeds were no more, and he had met two very important people in his life. They were his avatar... they were a pair that came to him.

Lambros and Savas, marine generals of the Blue Storm. They were the ones that Revonn had predicted would enter his life. Apparently they were the ones who would guide Haruka to "carve a path for the last resort," yet Haruka was still in the dark about this path and the last resort. Talk about cryptic.

Despite that, Haruka has made close friends with the two. They are units with personalities almost 100% like-minded of his own: goofy, poor with words, and always trying to relax rather than get into fights. One of them has this habit of screaming this awkward phrase before fights...

"I feel it in my-!"

"I get it Savas p-l-e-a-s-e stop feeling it in your heart for a second so I can finish making my coffee!"

"Ah... Fine... Kill joy."

The kitchen was busy as ever.

Hikari looked in the mirror, half disgusted, half content.

Being "Yukino Espoir" once again was a disturbing thought for more than enough reasons. She is a Singularity Point, so being affected by time shouldn't have been possible. Yet, here she is, standing looking as if nothing happened years ago. Like she never evolved. This is more than concerning, and inquiries to Zenon would have to be made later. As the Guidance Sage, along with hearing he had some part in formulating the Seekers, he'd have an explanation.

For now, the woman found delight being dressed up in a nice looking coat with a modest skirt. Her hair looked as majestic as it used to, especially with the tiara hair ornament keeping her ponytail together. Keeping her collar up, the woman wandered to her desk, taking the Seeker deck case.

A conversation with her new squad would be appropriate, honestly. Along with how much Blaster Blade is aware of what's happening. ... She wanted to ask now, yet bickering was all that was heard of the knights.

"Nope", the girl opted out, leaving her room.

"Did you know that there are approximately 3.5 million fish-"

"Lambros is all you talk about fish and the sea?"

"Where do you think I've been all my life?"

"F-Fair enough..."

Haruka was defeated by a trivia fact maniac. Lambros was indeed highly intelligent in the most useless information known to man, considering when he wasn't in combat he tended to spend time reading books on board. Most crew members were suggested to, but others just played water polo or shot the harpoons aimlessly into the water. The Aqua Force led an exceptionally boring lifestyle when not in combat.

Mixing the black brew with a higher amount of honey and creamer than usual, he tended to the last person on his list; Yukino. She liked Hikari apparently. Haruka could never keep up with the nicknames, hence why he almost never says anything but Yukino. Or Yuki if he's trying to get his way. He was 100% convinced that one day she would be able to finish a cup of coffee without nearly keeling over or spilling her insides out.

"So, what's the itinerary today, captain?"

"Serving coffee 'til Mr.Espoir says I can be a free human again."

"Are you enslaved?"

"You could put it that way. I actually like working here though."

"Oh... Hmm. Interesting..."

"What is it?"

Lambros conversed in whispers with Savas, not really cluing Haruka into anything. Rude.

"Could you idiots stop fighting for like, twenty minutes?!" Brutus screamed, losing his composure. The Seekers of Hope were a faction of those with... no synergy to one another, clearly. Blaster Blade and Wingal were the only known "veterans" among them. Even then, Wingal was part of the bickering. Something about Valrod being a pretentious asshole who prided himself on his "natural" talent. He is simply the best, you know. Brutus and his "mate" argued otherwise that his arrogance nearly got them all killed in a sting operation.

Yukino was tired of this shit and it had barely been a day. The woman just sort of sat down, hoping to speak with them at some point once they were done.

"Ugh..."

Hikari waltzed downstairs, greeted by the Espoir servants, and complimented for her new wardrobe. A smile was put on and quick thanks was given. She didn't really care, she needed to find Haruka.

"Haruka?" Hikari called out, approaching the kitchen. Time seemed to have been altered, but she prayed to Soul Saver this wasn't changed.

"Hmm...? Yes?" Haruka turned around, taking a look at his little Ice Queen's outfit. He smiled and nodded, waving a hand in response to her arrival.

"How are you doing, m'dear? Er-"

The staff shot a short glance at Haruka, in slight disapproval. Butler-san clasped a hand on his shoulder, somewhat scolding him. He started to sweat a bit under the neck.

"H-How are you, Miss Espoir."

The staff then nodded with some level of pride in their up-and-coming butler. Haruka just liked living under a roof again with some food and coffee to make every morning. Waking up to his beloved's face was also a plus in that regard.

"It's a lovely day, is it not?"

Okay, so Haruka was still here, and they were still dating. Timeline is still good. He's even working here like he was three months ago. ... Unfortunately, Hikari still couldn't really get used to seeing him in uniform. He looked good in it, but at the same time, formal wasn't him. That's why the queen waved her hand when they made him address her "properly". Haruka was her boyfriend, so it was fine for him to be casual.

"Lovely..." The woman replied, not really sure about the day. She's been busy listening to Royal Paladin try to beat each other up for the past few hours. ... That aside, asking Haruka about Exculpate is probably fruitless. He probably didn't know anything if Father of all people didn't.

"How's work been? You guys aren't working him too hard, are you?"

Staff looked... rather proud of their training Haruka.

"Lovely indeed..."

He finished his cup of coffee. Pure black. Haruka doesn't even wait for it to cool off anymore. After working so many late... late nights in the manor, he needs as much pure dark caffeine in his system as possible. He also finished Yukino's cup. Placing both on the tray, he fixed his tie and brought the shiny platter of mugs over.

"You seem... off. You alright, dear? Maybe you have a fever? Want me to check?" Haruka decided it might be funny to try and bring back an old memory of when they had only recently met. It was the day the third point of the triad had gotten an uppercut to the nose by the woman herself. Haruka thought, after some procedure done to keep Satoshi from further worsening, he checked Yukino for a fever. That wasn't why her face was so red apparently.

"Hehe. No, but in all seriousness, are you doing alright? You look, magnificent by the way. Honestly. Spectacular." Haruka took a sip of his coffee, waiting either for a good response from Yukino about her thoughts or to take a sip of his coffee. He might not accept any other movements.

Oh, he made coffee for her. Oh dear... Well, maybe things changed. It's been three months, and being altered by time might've jumbled up something nice enough for her not to get sick drinking it. It smelled... well it smelled better than she remembered. The aroma of caffeine still made her nauseous, but this was nicer than usual. The Chosen Sword... took it in hand... and hesitantly moved it up. Better yet, she didn't take a sip yet. The fear of what would happen left her stagnant.

"Sweetie, I'm-" Yukino was cut off by the revelation of the memory. While concerned for how time could have changed, the days where they all first met and came over and... Haruka and Satoshi nearly died seemed to be the same. It was during the time of her arrogance pinnacle, but it was still a very pleasant memory. The girl smiled, reminiscing joyfully over better days. That moment of obliviousness Haruka had... The crush started there, and the crushing of his bones by Father Espoir almost did too.

"I'm fine, and thank you."

Staff was experienced enough to know "I'm fine" probably meant "I'm busy thinking of what we're dealing with next". The woman lived in fear of the reapers for three months, so it'd be odd for that to just... go away. That aside, compliments from her boyfriend were always more than welcome, and earned him more and more points with the residents of the manor.

Yukino absentmindedly lifted the cup up. Talking to Haruka almost always distracted her from the fact that she's about to drink coffee. Ever so pleasantly did the queen's lips reach the mug and take a sip-

oh god it's coffee

It's... It's...!

... Hikari lowered the mug, remembering the technique Satoshi showed her three months back. It wasn't half bad tasting actually. She blinked, awed by the brew.

"That's great! Good to know you're in tip-top condition then."

Haruka wore a large jovial grin.

A fake one.

But a large and existent one regardless. Lambros stood at his back, still in ethereal form. He shook his head in disapproval at Haruka's inability to really express the situation. Savas sat at the table, actually materialized, tapping his foot lightly on the ground. Seems Savas is much more apt to living about the area, whereas Lambros prefers to be kept in the dark.

"Coffee seems to taste better than before, huh? I've been modifying it here and there to get you to finally like it. Maybe the work paid off after all." Haruka approached the sink on the east side of the room, taking a wash rag. He rubbed his semi-dirty hands with it, also rubbing off the remaining coffee marks from an old mug in the washbin.

"Harukaaaa, you're doing that thing again."

"What thing, Sa- Actually just don't answer that question."

Savas pouted, finishing his cup at the table.

"So, what's the plan dear. You seem up and at it already, no way you're just staying in, right?" Haruka was a step ahead these days, already knowing Yukino never stayed put for too long when even a semblance of work was meant to get done. She spent countless hours in that workshop instead of resting in bed or getting a decent meal. This meant Haruka's work hours were cut down but also that his worry for his love was getting to a boiling point. He almost snapped on her several times when she refused to eat or rest.

Sometimes he would sit out on the outside steps and smoke a cigarette to relax. He never really liked the smoke, nor the buzz from them. He just wanted a way to relay his condition to her...

But he wouldn't be taken seriously.

He discarded the wash rag for his mug of coffee on the counter, taking another large gulp.

"It's good!" Hikari responded to Haruka's words about the coffee. She still wasn't one-hundred percent used to it, but this was the closest he had ever gotten to having her get over the sickness. Another quick sip- yeah okay no. She forgot the technique and almost choked. A wee bit too eager the queen was. She needed a few moments to get a hold of herself. "Gah!" She coughed. The Seekers actually stopped bickering for a moment to ask if their vanguard was okay. The woman is fine she said, fine!

"Ah... R-Right..." Finally, she got a grasp of herself. "I wanted to... go outside for a walk."

After a deep breath, she took a calmer sip of the caffeine this time. The honey brew was better and better each time she tasted it. The queen, unfortunately, wasn't aware of her lover's problem with the issue of her being a workaholic. She rarely noticed the times where he would nearly lose his patience, and after three months of scarcely noticing, part of her hoped it didn't linger.

Not changing, however, is of course going to bring back that near-snapping point.

A "walk" was more like "survey surroundings".

He set the mug down, still staring out the window. It was February now. Haruka's birthday was coming up really soon and the snow on the ground complimented the atmosphere. Cold. Desolate. Blank.

Haruka shook the slight depression of from his head, slowly heading back in Yukino's direction. He heard her having a hard time with the coffee but somewhat forgot to react, preoccupied with his thoughts.

That's a first.

"A walk? Yeah, sure. You can take a walk. It isn't too horrible out. Do you need anyone to accompany you on this walk?"

While yes, Haruka was trying to ask if he should go along with her on the walk, he was almost hoping in a way she would legitimately notice if he was actually making a request or if she knew to bring him along anyways. A test in some ways, a real question in others, Haruka wasn't sure if it was a good call to ask in such a vague way.

He pulled on his white satin gloves, worn during work premises except in the kitchen. Wearing gloves could get fabric in the way of the knives and utensils, so they stuck to bare-hands for kitchen work. He tied his hair up with his remaining free hand, staring absent-mindedly past Yukino.

There was nothing there, but he couldn't look at her without small tinges of guilt or anger building up. He loved seeing her but also despised the way things had been recently. Life was calm. It was easy. But that created... a wilt in the relationship. It was dulling, as passion was fleeting and the romance had all but disappeared as everything became a work ethic for Yukino or Haruka was left to do some sort of housework for Mr.Espoir as repayment for a home.

Life was just not going the way Haruka had expected it to go. Lambros and Savas simply stared at Haruka, shrugging to each other in disapproval of the boy's attitude. He needed to lighten up, sheesh.

Yukino noticed Haruka didn't react negatively to her almost choking. Good, because he never really seemed okay with her inability to drink his brew. At the same time, a bit of worry made itself known. He didn't react at all, which was odd... Haruka kept on the subject of the walk. The queen gave him a soft smile over one of her usual relieved or rigid ones. "I don't need anybody, no..." She started. "... But I'd very much like, say, maybe one of our butlers to come with me." Yukino added on the obvious hint of wanting him specifically to come with. Relaxing in the middle of trying to understand the situation wouldn't be too bad, especially if it's with her beloved.

Continuing her gentle gaze, she noted that his gaze felt... a bit distant.

"Are you okay?" Hikari asked. Honestly, she was just too full of herself to understand the full problem. Too busy living in a panic or trying to get work done during the three months they had been living together to truly sit down for a long time and chill out.

"Ah... The turmoils of love", Brutus sighed.

"Pffft, like you know something about that, right?" Valrod snorted.

They proceeded to have the most asinine and useless duel of the century.

"If that was your way of asking me to come along..." He sighed, a small, simper rising. He couldn't resist the charms she had sometimes. Even if it was only here and there due to her normal stoic nature, he was happy when they did show through.

"It worked. I'll grab my jacket." After exiting past Yukino for a moment and picked his red and black military jacket off the coat rack. It buttoned up past the neck just a bit so none of his butler outfit particularly showed; the soldier look actually sort of worked. Haruka was already accustomed to wearing his boots all the time so it was pretty much a done deal getup.

"And, as for your question... Uh, yeah. Fine. Just a bit out of it. You know how it is working in the kitchen with twenty plus staff down your neck. Stressful I guess. Its been-"

He stared at the ground while buttoning his jacket and adjusting the wrist of his gloves.

"Not as good as it used to be." He muttered under his breath rather quickly, before scratching his chin and turning back to look at her.

"Its been hard I guess. You know?" He shrugged, ushering his loved one to the door, opening it for her as he normally did. He was really a butler at this point, but the chivalrous aspect already added him. He brought Lambros and Savas with him, as well as the remaining Blue Storm fleet in his deck case which was left in the breast pocket of the jacket, behind the badge.

Re: Espoir Mansion

Hikari hummed happily, holding her hands behind her back, and swaying a little bit in glee. However, her mind was constantly screaming "shut up!!" to the argumentative Royal Paladins. Christ, what happened to the legion of bonds they shared? Now everyone's fighting, and not even Ahmes can calm them down. In fact, Ahmes got whacked around a couple times trying to intervene with the duel. The Snow Queen opted to ignore them, but they were her allies... Instead, she focused on following her boyfriend and watching him don a jacket. A military jacket. Forget the butler uniform, she rather enjoyed him in this.

Maybe because she loved wearing one as Yugure. Did she wear one in this timeline where Exculpate is no longer around too?

"If work's been bothering you, you could come by my room or the work shop more often, Haruka..." The woman suggested as the front door was opened. They could fool around in her room or just hang in the cold, chilly space of her favorite place in the house: the workshop. She was like her dad at this point with the place. Father Espoir would always keep to himself, working on random knick knacks after a fight with Mother Espoir. It was just a nice distraction that had progress to it.

"I can get those guys to lay off of you some", was added. Giving her beloved issues, eh? A couple salary cuts should be an order.

Come by her room or the workshop?

Well, coming by her room a bit more often would be an option... should Mr. Espoir already forbade him going anywhere near her bedroom or living quarters in general during work hours. And Haruka worked morning and evening shifts these days, for that specific reason. He didn't get off of the house watch until past 1 in the morning most of the time, and even then, he was too tired to fool around with Yukino. At that point he was already so exhausted even hearing Sera say a word to him threw Haruka into a frenzy.

As for the workshop, the last time Haruka visited down their, he ended up falling asleep in a chair somewhere in the corner as Yukino worked on her latest project or some innovation to something else she was making. It wasn't that he couldn't talk to her or anything, but Haruka was really bad with words.

This has been established many times.

So when the one he wants to spend time with has her hands occupied with something else and really only has words to spare, things fall flat fast. Its not that he could never really see her, in fact he did see her often. They lived in the same house after all. But it had been so long since they'd been on a date or even had a Cardfight.

In fact, Haruka can't even remember the last time they fought. Probably when Revonn was still around in fact...

"You know I don't like the workshop, Yukino... As for your room, if I wasn't set to work night shifts when I actually want to hang out, I would. But all I'm given is the afternoon, and you're either asleep from working all night or being out and taking care of Resistance business or meeting with an associate for the Espoir family or-"

Haruka cut himself short, biting his lip. He was already starting to rant. With a somewhat deep breath, and pocketed his hands and took a couple steps forward.

"Don't worry about the staff. Butler-san takes care of them just fine for me. Thanks for worrying though." He adjusted the fringes of his hair, standing a couple feet in front of Yukino now staring at the gate out of the estate.

"Ready to go?" His voice was a mix of annoyed and sorrowful.

Yukino stood still for a moment, watching him as he spoke. He looks contemplative and still distant. He didn't like the workshop? How could he not?! It's so cozy and the temperature is perfect. Not only that, but she could relax and work at the same time! If he gets into crafting, so can he! How could he not love it to death?! ... Actually, him not really being a craftsman might be part of why he can't enjoy it. Definitely not because she'd still be working, no way. Putting that aside, she listened to the reason why he didn't come to her room. Night Shifts and her being busy or sleeping at irregular times. Was she really that busy? Nobody really let her work all that much these past few months.

"Hmm..." Hikari began starting about what was going on while Haruka cut himself off from ranting. Butler-san has things covered, but she still wasn't convinced.

"Are you sure you're okay?" The woman inquired, hearing his tone when he asked if she was ready. She walked out with him, keeping her gaze on him.

He stood there, staring at the gate. Finally starting a small pace with Yukino by his side. It was brisk out, but nice enough for Haruka to enjoy the weather without freezing. He's been more of a fan of the cold as recent due to the nature of the Aqua Force clan and their absurd love for water.

Makes sense.

He didn't say anything at first, simply staring at the ground whenever he took a step and started counting the stone under his feet. His mind was occupied with thoughts of whether or not it was fair to say that him being upset was warranted or not. He wasn't going to yell at her when she still at least showed concern, or wanted to understand if something was wrong.

He hadn't lost all hope in the relationship. That was one thing he had going at least.

He shrugged, just keeping his eyes in front of him. He was in fact already growing a tad-bit lethargic as they began their walk to whatever destination Yukino had in mind, if any.

"I'm always fine... you know?"

A sad, despairing smile was what Haruka wore. It was crumpled and dumb looking, like it was absurdly obvious he was trying to please somebody. The problem was, with most people, it worked. Nobody took Haruka's desperate undertones and bottled-up emotions seriously because they believed when you live the perfect like, what's to worry about?

Every life has its details, and those details aren't always the best. That's where it lies for Haruka. Problems in the details.

"..."

The Ice Queen didn't say anything for a minute when he finally answered. Instead, she took him by the hand, and squeezed it. That "fine" answer when it was an obvious lie was something she wad used to. He wasn't fooling her. But if he didn't want to talk about it right now... fine, she won't force it out with a big confrontation. Just... the gesture of clutching his hand was to convey she's willing to listen to whatever is wrong. Knowing her, the Chosen Sword will eventually hunt down the problem, and attempt to violently solve it.

She did even threaten to kill whatever was bothering Haruka back during the Star-vader invasion.

Probably should have came up with a concrete destination before heading out. The woman just wanted to survey the town, to be honest. Yukino merely kept a grip on the boy, and walked out through the gate with him.
