Biography: Karin was always an athletic child since she could walk. She lived in motion, always occupying herself with something that kept her body moving. Through her slow years of school, she would pass each year with flying colors, earning nearly-perfect grades in every class. Of course, her physical education grades were her peak, and Karin would often find herself working extra, not to go beyond the 100% mark, but just for her sheer enjoyment. As her school years continued, however, she found her life beginning to slow down. School became bland, providing nothing new for her, leaving Karin uninterested, bored, and creating a gap in her constant rush of activity. So, Karin began to, for once, look at the world around her, after spending so many years simply rushing past it. Amongst the relative chaos, one thing caught Karin’s eye; Vanguard. It might have seemed like just a regular game to her, but the enthusiasm and energy the players displayed struck her with awe. For something so simple and childish as a game to inspire so much activity drew Karin’s interest endlessly.
Karin decided to add it to her schedule. She visited Card Capital and purchased her first deck, bearing the strength of the Dragon Empire. Resonating with their strength, Karin felt at home once again, learning the flow and rhythm of Vanguard, finding her enjoyment once again within the game. And as Karin grew in skill and strength, so did her connection to the Dragon Empire. Over time, she felt her bond with the ace of her deck, the Dragonic Overlord, deepen. Over time, she began to even respect the card itself, almost feeling the very thoughts of the Overlord in her own mind. Until one day, it did speak to her. “Fiery Blood, like that of all Dragonkind,” it told her “you possess this quality.”
The roaring voice of the Overlord shook Karin’s soul, and as her journeys with the Dragon Empire continued, through their countless shared battles, she felt the power of the Overlord begin to overtake her. A power she could not best, a strength she could not surpass, a fiery soul that burned brighter than her own. The very image of true power that Karin had always strived for was now clear in front of her, in the form of her true Avatar; Dragonic Overlord. And just as the Overlord’s strength came to overpower Karin’s own, she felt herself succumb to the mighty Overlord’s will. But through this submission, Karin would only work to improve herself more. Dedicating herself to her Avatar, Karin pledged to continue to better herself until the day she would stand on equal grounds with her Lord.
Then, one day, the Overlord vanished. Karin was awestruck. She scoured her deck, her house, her entire city looking for her Lord, but found no trace. Her avatar was lost, stolen away by some unseen force. Understanding her Lord’s nation better than most, however, the answer to the Overlord’s disappearance was obvious. The Liberation War that had taken place not too long ago, like most wars, could not have ended so abruptly, nor so soon after it began. At the very least, for Karin, the war was not over. It would never be, until she held her Lord in her hands once more, and rode forward with him to victory.
Personality: Karin is an athletic, hard-minded girl. She will often prefer action over rationalization, which can lead to a number of misunderstandings should there be some miscommunication with her. While actually getting violent or at all physical is rare for her, she does still maintain a stubborn attitude towards most things in life. Having learned the Dragon’s behavior, she will acknowledge and respect displays of real power, and will often attempt to challenge those displays with her own strength. Karin is not, however, an unkind person. She still holds high regard for life and highly values respect, doing her best to act as a “fair sport” in any competition she finds herself in, whether it be a game of Vanguard or even everyday life.

Re: Karin Ouriel
- Season 3 to Season 4 Timeskip update:
After the return of her Overlord and the end of Link Joker's invasion, Karin's life settled back down to what it used to be, though she had a number of new friends and acquaintances to add to her life- Haruka, Yugure, Seifer, Cero, and all the others from the Resistance. In fact, still seeking to provide whatever help she could to her two new closest friends, Karin joined the Resistance (officially this time, beyond the simple exchange of texts that had been done previously), and offered her skills to Yugure. Being accepted into the Resistance, Karin was put to work as a form of Runner; Relaying more important and sensitive information or items that couldn't be trusted to the everyday methods of mail or online connection and, on few occasions, carrying a person from one location to another (Karin proved to be faster than most other forms of transportation, though this was mainly due to her being closer by and available for the job at the time). Working with this new job to her fullest, Karin would continue to support Yugure, Haruka, and the rest of the Resistance as best she could for many months to follow.
