Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

Post by Rawkobo Thu Nov 05, 2015 1:18 pm

A calm breeze sifted through the park. Despite everything that had been happening recently with the daunting nature of Link Joker and Reverse, and what the Star-vaders had done to most of the surrounding areas, there was a strange sense of peace in this particular area. There always had been.

Satoshi ran his fingers through his hair. The trip back from Hawaii had been something else. Everyone had left ahead of time so he could try to make some adjustments to the plan. Now that he was freed of Nebula Lord's hold, it was time to take a stand and move forward.

At least, that's what he wanted to say. He reached into his pocket and pulled out what was, in fact, a blank card. Where Nebula Lord once was, there was now an empty space. Staring into that space changed nothing about it. Satoshi couldn't shake the feeling that something should be there, but nevertheless, it was clear that was the case.

A being with light-green hair peered over his shoulder. "You've been looking at that since you left. Is there something you see that we don't?"

The young man shook his head, chuckling a little. "Nah, Angelica, nothing out of the ordinary. Just thinkin' about past mistakes and the like." He pocketed the card again and turned to her. "What's the story on what's happenin' around here?"

Angelica shrugged. "Cray is preparing its countermeasures against Reverse more intensely, thanks to the efforts of the Liberators and your friends in the resistance." She nodded to the golden box strapped to his side. "We, too, have been preparing, if you couldn't tell."

Satoshi sighed and flipped open his Genesis box. Ever since he was able to talk to them again, he had learned, specifically from his new floating friend Angelica, that the clans had started preparing all that they could to fight the Star-vaders. This had forced her division's hand into researching the artifacts known as Regalia. Each represented a civilization of years long gone on Cray; their magical properties had yet to be fully discovered, but it was clear that much of their strength had intended to be godlike at worst. Still, with the amount of research required, Angelica had been hard at work with her division, the Regalia Administration Office, to unlock the hidden potential of these items.

"That's where you come in," she said, with a flick of her mid-length hair. "Maybe in actual combat we can discover how far these items really go..."

Satoshi shrugged. Using some of the new forces supported by Regalia would prove to be a different experience with the deck than he had prior. Sure, there weren't many times he had used them, but maybe soon...

"So where am I headed?" He boxed his deck up and slid his hands into his jacket pockets, waiting expectantly to know what the plan was. The reply was not exactly something he was expecting. Angelica shook her head.

"No clue. I assumed Yugure gave you some sort of insight before she left."

"Nah, they all just sorta left after dinner." Satoshi moved over to the old sleeping bench he used to use and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. "Probably tryin' to protect me a little bit, since I just got outta Nebula Lord's hold, but there's no real need for that." He slipped his left hand out of his pocket, looking over the battle scar left behind by his time as a Star-vader vassal.

The rings had never left, and as far as he could tell, they never were going to. Perhaps down the road they would prove useful in identifying some intense Reverse power or something like that, but the burning sensations, the talents he had employed as Nebula Lord's puppet...all of those had faded fast. It was most definitely like having a scar. A cool-looking scar, but a scar nonetheless.

Satoshi shook his head. Dormant power should be the least of his worries right now. He directed his attention back to Angelica. "I'll send Yugure a text and see what's goin' on. Maybe Seifer, too, he didn't seem so well on their way back."

Angelica nodded and gave a short curtsey. "I'll be returning to my work. Let me know if you need anything." Her champion gave a quick thumbs-up and she faded away.

Fumbling through his pockets again, Satoshi found his phone and scrolled through the contacts. First thing's first. He tapped the newly edited "Yugure" on his phone, replacing the prior "Yukino." They were one and the same, no matter what it was Yugure thought or felt, but respecting her wish to be called such was the least he could do.

Hey. Back in town. Where do you need me? I'm currently sitting at the park.

Satoshi

Sending that off, he then tapped "Seifer."

Heya. You doin' okay, man?

Satoshi

Both of these messages sent, he leaned back a bit to think of what could potentially lie ahead.

'Not sure really. Passed out soon after you and Yukino fought. Woke up recently back here in town. Not sure how or why I'm here. Haven't seen any of the others except Darren and Xat.' there was a pause after this message was sent, soon followed by another message. 'What happened after I passed out? Did any of you actually bring me back here? I doubt it, since Darren said he didn't know. Figured I'd ask someone though.'

Satoshi cringed a little. True, Seifer had been out the whole time. A bit awkward, considering the meal that was had in his "absence."

I'm guessing Yugure brought you and Rose back, but I couldn't tell you. You all left on the same plane, that's all I know for sure.

His text was interrupted by a message from Yugure to look up at the sky. He glanced over and saw what she was talking about: a familiar set of lights akin to that of Cray itself. Something wasn't right. He returned his attention to the other text and finished it rather abruptly.

Gotta go.

Sending it off, Satoshi stood up from the bench, stretched, and turned in the direction of the lights.

"Guess I got my answer."

Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

Post by Jello Sun Nov 08, 2015 2:20 pm

Amatsuki sat quietly in the park, laying against a tree next the marble sculpted fountain. The sound of water was actually calming, despite most people having to go pee whenever they hear it.

Upon such a wonderful medley of sounds, Amatsuki pulled a flute out of its case, the one he came with strapped onto his back, and began to play. The music flowed wonderfully out and into the park area, creating a large resonance field. This was his defense. Amatsuki himself was not a particularly powerful fighter, just happens the timeline he comes from was so weak and already half-destroyed by the time anyone who was powerful enough showed up, he happened to be the strongest thing left...

He played and played, creating a semi-barrier up around the area. He was looking for them. The fighters he caught attention of back at opening of his timegate. None of their names were clearly disclosed, but he could find their aura's easily if need be.

Fubuki was wandering through the park, thinking.  She had yet to find the source of the evil and instead found something different yet...  Still terrifying.  Jelly.  Stride.  Whatever that mechanical dragon thing was.  Was there even a way to combat such raw power?  And what even was Stride?  It called forth a Grade 4 unit for a turn, but...  Where did it come from and how?  As she was walking she heard someone playing music.  It was a rather nice song, but Fubuki wasn't paying much mind to it.  She didn't even notice the person playing the music, too focused in her own thoughts as she walked right passed him.

Another passerby, and another and...

Wait, this resonance. It's familiar. It's a long-drawn out size with hints of blue and white. A cold, icy resonance that people like Amatsuki tend to not interfere with. However, this person was also familiar because she was one of the fighters at the timegate opening.

She had the feel of a wave in motion. Amatsuki parted his lips from his beloved instrument, stood up, and walked over to the woman. He waved in her direction, making sure his steps were loud enough to get the woman's attention. She seemed rather lost in thought, so maybe he would have to take a different approach. He ran in front of her, skipped backwards, bent slightly forward, and waved right into the view of her sight.

Think she'll notice?

If not, she might be blind. In that case, you're both in trouble when it comes to communication.

Amatsuki slightly frowned at that comment. His smile returned when he realized he was still trying to make a first impression on the girl in front of him. She seemed familiar not only in soul resonance, but just in general. Strange.

Fubuki was snapped out of her thoughts with the appearance of this stranger in front of her. She noticed the music had stopped, and figured this must've been the person who was playing the music. Kind of weird that he was acting like he knew her.

"Oh, uh, hello," she said, not really sure how she should treat this person. He seemed, kind of nice, so she gave a slight smile hoping this wouldn't drag on too long.

A response! Someone could actually interact with him! Amatsuki was overjoyed to finally have gotten someone to pick up on his nonsensical reactions. Amon was pleased as well, nodding from his ethereal state. Amatsuki pulled out his own deck from his back pocket, smiling still.

He didn't want to fight people because he was a seed from another timeline. He wanted to enjoy life while he was away from the hell his past world had created with no hope of real recovery. The only way to come back to that world willingly is if his Mizumi were to still be alive.

He knew that wouldn't happen...

Waving his deck, he blinked and nodded, essentially motioning for a fight. He even pointed over to one of the tables conveniently placed by the park fountain.

You probably should lay off of...

I know what I'm doing, I got this!

The distinct lack of any spoken words was more than a little strange, but Fubuki can tell what he's trying to communicate well enough. "You... Want a cardfight?" Rather uncertain of her abilities after yesterday, she was reluctant to accept the fight, but... "Uh, alright." Pulling out her own deck, Fubuki walked over and put her deck on the table. "I guess I have time for a fight..." The stranger didn't seem like he had that evil power about him. This fight would be harmless, right?

Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

Post by Jello Sun Nov 08, 2015 5:19 pm

The fight went in a pretty south route straight from the start.

Amatsuki was starting turns with drawing critical triggers that he desperately needed to get during checks, but instead he mercilessly checked his boosters and Dantalian over and over. He was able to guard out most of the assault that came from the deck, but he got greedy holding onto a perfect guard and let the restanding boss of waves, Tetra-Drive Dragon, go for a two-pass, scoring double critical triggers.

Amatsuki debated several times in the fight if he should go ahead and abuse the power he was given from the timegates, but he was warned by Amon to not use the power here. This was a public place out in the open, and the use of stride force would culminate too much attention, and potentially even damage the surrounding area.

He held onto his potential win condition and left the fight with a loss. Despite taking the beating this time around, he was fine with the loss. He liked seeing new stuff in action, particularly Aqua Force. A close friend of his from the alternate dimension was an avid Aqua Force user, but he rarely left his home after the world turned to crap so he hadn't seen them back in action for months.

He packed up his cards, looked up at the girl, nodded with a smile and a hand outstretched for a shake... Like a certain someone.

That was fun... Wish it was easier to convey that, though.

Post by Lightning King Sun Nov 08, 2015 5:25 pm

The fight went... Really, really well for Fubuki. She got plenty of rear-guards and had enough cards to defend herself against what little attacks her opponent managed to get off. It felt like the game had barely been gone on by the time it was over, ending it with a single Limit Break with Double Critical triggers. Despite this clearly unfair win, her opponent was still smiling and outstretched his hand. She was a little surprised but shook his hand nonetheless, then turned and started walking away, forgetting to say good-bye. Fubuki wasn't quite as weak as seeing Stride lead her to believe, it seemed.

Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

Post by Jello Mon Nov 16, 2015 4:09 pm

Haruka made his entrance into the park, noting the negative-toned version of himself sitting on his favorite bench, staring up at the sky. He breathed in the cold, cold air. Haruka felt the winter's bite on his elbows and wrists, succumbing to the chill.

"You should really be wearing more layers. Where is your jacket?"

"Left it with the Resistance. I have something else to deal with."

Glendios laughed a little, silently pocketing his hands just like Haruka usually did. They really were mirror images of each other at this point. Same tendencies, same habits, same looks, and nearly exact same personality. If they had the same goals, it'd be two Haruka's walking around.

"Why are you doing this, Sera?"

"You know my name."

"Yeah, but this is the name I've always called you."

"It's your name; your title rather, but the principal stands-"

"Shut up and listen to me for once."

Glendios looked down to the stone pathway in the park, leading towards the trees. He clacked the toes of his boots to a rhythm on the stone has Haruka prepared to go a tangent about rights and wrongs and morals and...

It never came out.

"I have a deal to make with you."

Glendios shot his eyes towards to Haruka, then a small simper revealed through his monotonous mask.

"Oh? The one I originally proposed?"

Haruka and Sera, or Glendios, had developed a deal should Haruka ever want to make the big transfer over to the dark side. A form of protection; Haruka would guard the open gate to Cray while Sera, or Glendios, went over. Originally the plan didn't entail Sera becoming a giant golem of Reverse and tearing apart Cray from inside.

But this was different. Haruka knew what was missing this entire time. Overlord's presence was no longer just reversed, but it vanished from Haruka. He was no longer his Vanguard; only Sera and whoever else remained loyal to the restanding dragon. He discarded the strength overload that Overlord was giving him for something more precious. Resolve.

"Please just... don't hurt them."

Glendios knew exactly who Haruka was talking about. He nodded, and pressed his hand onto Haruka's chest, leaving a small seal.

"A contract with the Rift. Its a one-time use of that special little ability your gang has been going around and using. Stride."

Haruka furrowed his brow.

"I don't have a deck now."

"Oh, no worries.... It'll come to you, I'm sure of it."

Haruka grit his teeth, still angry and wanting to rant, but what was done was done. Haruka had obeyed Sera one last time, and they were now partners in crime in order to save the lives of Cray. To lock them; is to save them. Haruka knew this now.... the Reapers could not erase what is not there to get rid of, so by locking away the Planet Cray, even if it does mean they're existence is just as good as null, at least nobody has to go through the terror Brandt would bring. Sera knew better than Haruka did, but it was all he could do for now. Haruka was the guardian, Sera was the one going on.

"Good luck."

"You too, partner."

"Don't call me that."

Sera, Glendios, whatever, he shrugged. He stared at the sky again, waiting. The gate would open in only a few hours... Time was ticking.

Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

Post by Cipher Mon Nov 16, 2015 9:52 pm

He wasn't entirely sure why he did so, but Seifer snuck out of the HQ and came... Here. Why? There wasn't really a reason past just being drawn here. That's the best explanation he could come up with at the time. However, all things considered... It was probably a mix of a good, and bad thing, that he did so. It was quiet, almost barren. No one was here... No, that wasn't entirely accurate. There were two souls. Two very familiar souls he  could feel... Wait? Since when could he feel stuff like that? No matter... With Link Joker in hand, the brunette made his way to where they were located, eyes half shut and while it was hard to see with his current visage... The crimson eyes were filled with determination. He needed to settle... Settle? Settle what? What're these thoughts to begin with? Again, no matter. Stopping several meters away from Haruka and Sera, he placed his hand on his hip. "Seems like something interesting's going on here. Starting a party are we? And you didn't even invite me? I'm offended."

"Haruka!"

Karin ran up to the boy as quick as she could, stopping in front of him. Putting her hands to her knees, she breathed in heavily. Clearly, she had been running a long time to get so out of breath. "Hey... Haruka, you left the base... and no one told me, I didn't know where you went... I looked EVERYWHERE for you..." Karin panted between words, fumbling with her sentence. Taking in a deep breath, she shook her head, and slapped her hands to her face. Wiping her forehead, she exhaled.

"Sorry for freaking out like that just now. I was worried about you, but I'm glad I found you. Is everything alright?"

Two faces approached, and two faces went in opposite directions. Haruka took notice of Karin instantly, feeling a bit guilty about making a close friend of his run after him like that. He looked down, rubbing his frostbitten arms. He was finally cold now, after all the heat in his body died down from frustration. The seal lightly glowed on his chest. The wind blew. Snow was starting to fall distantly. It probably wouldn't stick.

"E-Everything is fine, Karin. Don't worry about me so much, okay? Just strolling in the park isn't gonna hurt anybody."

Haruka walked a bit closer to her, offering a light pat on the back to help out with her breathing. She looked genuinely worn out and could use a bit of help. Unfortunately, Haruka was in no position to help anyone really. He didn't even have his deck, let alone a water bottle. He had his cell phone... but it was dead.

______________________________________________________________________________________

On the other hand, Sera took immediate notice of Seifer, not necessarily blockading the way, but he definitely got a bit closer to him, teasing him a bit.

Not flirting. He was toying with Seifer and his emotions, but for what really? What would he have to say that could really intrigue the boy with a new power.

"So, Seifer, it's good to see you join us after all. It's been too long since we last really chatted, you know? Years, it feels like..."

Sera, Glendios, whatever, cracked his neck and stretched nonchalantly. His power was increasing by the second, and any hour now the portal to Cray would open for him... and Haruka would protect him as he entered and did what he sought out from the beginning. Lock Cray.

"Hm? What are you getting a-" the male was confused for a moment. The negative Haruka spoke to him as if they'd known each other far longer than originally thought. But, before Seifer could finish speaking, there was a pressure beyond anything he ever felt flooding his head. It honestly felt like he was going to burst. Images, things that didn't seem physically natural or possible, it didn't make any sense and yet... After the episode passed, the male raised his eyes to meet Sera's. "...It has been a while... Hasn't it... 'Seraphim'..." logically speaking, Seifer shouldn't know it. Should he? If Sera had mentioned it at the training facility in his explanation, Seifer hadn't been paying enough attention to actually of heard it then but... When the brunette spoke, there was venom in his voice. Anger, the desire for vengeance. "Should of known it would be harder to accomplish than just coming here. But I finally found you. ...You ran to this dimension to try and complete your plans, didn't you?" the aura around Seifer had shifted completely now. He no longer felt like the boy from the War of Liberation, or even the start of the invasion. No, this felt like a completely different person altogether.

"Sorry, sorry... I don't mean to make us both worried-" Karin stopped herself at the appearance of the other man. Seifer, if she remembered his name correctly. And that weird nega-Haruka angel guy, Sera, was confronting him. The man who had Kagero's goddess, Nouvelle, at his back, and the being that possessed her Overlord's corrupt form. Why were they here? Why now? What was going on?

"Everything will be alright if you don't get in their way..." Haruka bit his lip, stepping in front of Karin's view of them.

"You might have to go through me otherwise. I know that's not what you want and it's not what I want either." Haruka was 99% sure Karin had no intention of interfering anyways but this deal entailed Haruka essentially put his life on the line for Sera to save Cray and its inhabitants once and for all.

"Just... relax for a little, okay? You ran all the way out here in the frigid cold, what were you thinking?!"

The snow began to stick. Haruka's breath showed in the air and all he could do was start freezing to death. Well, he wouldn't actually, he was wearing a long-sleeve shirt but still. Chilly.

"Ah... Karin, how did you even find me?" Haruka's words lingered in the brisk wind now running rampant.

______________________________________________________________________________________

"Yukino's neck is soft, like butter, you know? Well, probably not. Haruka knows. He's been there done that... you know. Cut if clean off. Ooops, that was rude, wasn't it?"

Sera was teasing still. Being a bit of an awful existent being but he figured it was a great way to get the other boy to move forward. Make the first move. Take the bait. But with new power at his side, it wasn't exactly that simple anymore.

"Alright... You know too well who I am and who he is and that he never could do that. I'm sure you know who the grudge really is with, don't you Sei?"

Sera's voice heightened to perfectly match Haruka's. This was a terrifying sick joke. Sera was antagonizing Seifer for, well, what reason? Other than to settle the bad blood in a past timeline.

"Show me what you've got boy, we have unfinished business. This ends now."

Sera materialized a cosmic prison, meant to be forged only be reverse deities and those with reverse. However, despite Seifer not having those powers, he'd have equal power of manipulation of it due to his inner Link Joker power being activated and controlled.

Karin hadn't even noticed how cold it was. Her adrenaline had kept her body warm enough. "...Alright, Haruka. I'll trust you." She wasn't ecstatic about it, but she knew Haruka well enough, at this point, to believe he could handle whatever situation he had gotten himself into. If it really looked like he needed her help, she'd step in, but no sooner. Unless he asked, of course.

There were more eyes watching past just Haruka. Oh well, he figured this would happen. Even as the distorted figure before him began to antagonize him, poke and prod... Try to get him angry, Seifer remained composed. "I've done a lot of thinking since then. I knew from the start, Haruka couldn't of done it. I knew it, so I did a bit of digging. Found your existence and followed you. So yes, I knew the grudge was with you. It was always with you. ...For what you did to my sister..." as the reverse prison appeared, locking the two together in an arena just for them, a slight smile appeared on his face. Removing the Link Joker deck from it's case, holding it out to face Sera, a black and red aura appeared around Seifer... The aura of reverse, and yet... It didn't take him over, rather... seemed to empower him. "I'm going to pay you back for what you did. Tearing apart two lives like you did. Cutting a third short. I'll stop you here and now Seraphim." Seifer shouted at the negative Haruka before him, gripping the deck. The battle between two who could of been friends, a battle of "dark heroes", was about to begin.

Rijuku Park Empty Seifer vs. Sera: Battle of the Dark Hero (Tch.)

Post by Jello Tue Nov 17, 2015 7:42 pm

This fight was... on a whole new scale of what felt like Vanguard warfare. The units came to real life inside of the Star-Vader prison Glendios had provided. Despite his separation from Haruka, he kept Dragonic Overlord the Rebirth with him in order to accomplish his goal. Not like he particularly needed it with him for his original plan but... it was nice to have regardless.

Glendios teased and prodded at Seifer throughout the fight, playing the evil part as he normally did. He called out horrible things and made deathly comments, but his facade was fading. His true intentions were never going to ring true until the fight between these two came a close. In this case, even sooner than that.

The first to Breakride was Seifer, displaying a powerful Triple Lock onto Glendios' field, forcing his rear-guards to become immobile. With the power of Reverse manipulation, Glendios willed a heal trigger to save himself from absolution. Glendios and Seifer went back and forth at each other with the near intent to kill it seemed like. Seifer wanted to stop Glendios from destroying or killing anyone else, as it was discovered he was the one who willed Haruka's body to kill Yukino, not Overlord's desire.

Seifer folowed Haruka through the Rift, only a bit after he himself got there. His purpose was unclear, until Glendios purposefully reminded him the reasoning these two would even know each other. Haruka and Seifer were doomed to face in essentially mortal combat ever since Yukino Espoir had died to Overlord's sword.

(YOU GUYS READY FOR MORE UNDERTALE OST? I SURE AM! Don't worry there's only two more left, and they're both in this post so you'll be fine no worries.)

"Seifer.... You never fail to disappoint me. Allow myself to bring the show back to you... Cross Break Ride."

Glendios with the will of the Reverse energy, forced a superior Cross Break Ride onto Dragonic Overlord the Re-Birth; his demonic creation he originally intended to use for conquest. The dragon roared ferociously into the outer boundaries of space, allowing a thundering echo to linger with the two fighters.

"Limit Break!"

Glendios performed the deadliest combination of skills this deck had to offer; the ability to attack three times in one turn. And it would've sealed the deal, no use in forcing anything more... had Seifer not miracle triggered back to life. This fight was extremely harder than he imagined it would be.

Rebirth dashed forward with the speed of sound and struck Nebula Lord in a diagonal slice, leaving the burning crest of a large cross in the middle of his chest. Glendios forced out a majority of the hand and dealt a nearly fatal blow, meaning he would have an edge after his restand.

Which got perfect guarded. Lame.

Seifer had... a transformation. His mind twisted into gnarls and thorns of just pure degradation. It felt like he became a near psychopath. He was shouting what felt like nonsense at first, laughing maniacally at every move Glendios made. He became conscious of the fact that this was the sinister Seifer... and he was created, in fact, by Glendios himself.

He shuddered at the abomination of a personality that stood only meters away on this fight feet. Glendios genuinely was discouraged to even get close to the being, let alone listen to what it had to say. It only talked down Glendios, pushing forth the evil that Glendios was aware he had done.

His sins were crawling on his back.

Come another turn of Nebula Lord attacks, under the command of the twisted Seifer, dubbed "Psyfer." He called forth an array of attacks, causing Glendios to throw down more of his hand... He needed an answer to this, and fast, come his turn.

So he did exactly what anyone with the capability to do it would.

He broke through the Generation Zone, and strode.

"Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord the Ace!"

Glendios called forth his future, the one he and Haruka had forged in their one timeline. This was the future they came from, and the past they had now lived in. The one memory they shared belovedly, despite the hell they put people through to achieve it. Now it felt bittersweet even holding the card, and despite restanding in, more miracle triggers were forced through the will of the Reversed Psyfer.

The fight raged on, flaming hell and the cold death of stars spinning around them at near light speed as they were sending waves of attacks and locks at each other from the left to the right and back over and over.

Big Crunch Dragon. Introducing a new concept, well, not to Glendios but, to everyone who could have watched. The Omega Lock. An everlasting lock, capable of keeping units in stasis for even longer than one turn, but two whole turns.

This caused Glendios more than enough dismay, had he the ability to actually use them, he might have ended the fight a turn earlier. After barely surviving the Big Crunch attack with, you guessed it, a 3rd Miracle Sixth Heal, he proceeded to form his last column and go for one last attack with Rebirth-

The monologue stopped. It was dead silent, in the sea of stars that they stood in. Then, Psyfer began to talk. Or rather, cackle, then laugh.

"So you want to save the WORLD, huh? Why? Are you scared of the Reapers, Glendios? The leader of an entire armada of star freaks is scared of the big bad Brandt, huh?-"

"....Hahahahahahaha...."

Glendios began to laugh back, choking through his teeth. He wasn't about to cry in front of this demon, but he would share some of the biggest advice he had.

"So maybe I can't really save anybody by locking them away... But I'd rather preserve what's left of it's existence instead of seeing it turned to nothing by those things. Those abominations. You're no better than them."

"How boring..."

"Rebirth, attack! Limit Break!!"

The assault continued, a restand on Glendios' side, but still unable to force victory here. He could only create a difference in hand, but without a real way to win now, he was toast. It was as good as over for him...

Psyfer remained quiet... then he started clenching his chest. He was going through a mental repair as the fight was happening. The real Seifer was breaking through the barrier that his demonic counterpart set for himself.

"Seifer.... Seifer!"

Glendios called out to him solemnly, sternly in fact. But there was a hint of hope in the negative-toned boy's voice. He had to pray mentally that Seifer would break through. If not, this fight might end in the lock of Glendios altogether.

And it worked...

Seifer, finally managed to break through. He started slowly, still somewhat panting from the mental fatigue he must be going through right now. Glendios stood still, looking at him.

"Seraphim..."

"Please, call me by real name."

"Glend-"

"Sera... Glendios never really was fitting, was it?"

"Not ever."

"Didn't think so..."

Seifer and Sera talked. They really talked for a moment; about what happened, why it had happened, why it could have been prevented. Sera felt guilt and pity bury in his chest but he accepted it because if he ever wanted to understand what it meant to be like a human, than he had to take every hit like a champ.

Including the final one.

The final blow tore through Sera's remaining defenses, and sent the final card into his damage zone; Rebirth, and a copy of Tahr.

Sera lost another fight, but this one... for a good reason. A deserving one.

Come to think of it, he didn't win very often. Even with a few miracles on his side, it seems.

With that, the star-prison came down. The battle was over, and Seifer was panting, nearly on the ground. Sera stood silently.

"Seifer, I-"

"Don't."

".... See you soon. I'm sure of it."

"See you.."

Those were the last words Sera said to Seifer. They could be friends one day, maybe... Had they just had more time and a reason to not kill each other, Sera and Seifer were sure of it. Friendship was never out of reach, even for the lesser of two evils.

He walked over to Haruka for a moment, placing a hand on his shoulder. The hour had struck mid-fight, but couldn't leave Psyfer to himself. It was finally time to open the gate to Cray and materialize. Time was fleeting and only a few more minutes remained...

Haruka nodded and turned to Karin for a moment, breathing in deeply. The cold was no longer effecting the boy. He felt numb to the bone at this point. Even his lips had gone a strange shade of blue.

"K-Karin... I have to go now. There are things for me to take care of, so, I'll be going now. I can't let you follow me... Take care of Seifer for me, and everyone else."

It seemed more like a "Goodbye", then a "See you later." That must be worrisome to most people. But Haruka and Sera were desperately running out of time. They dashed off to the farside of the park to an open plaza, where a giant sculpture of a marble wall stood. And there, was the first step to finishing what Sera had started in the first place.

Locking Cray away, to save everyone. It was a selfish, obviously poor attempt at heroism, but even the villain has to be a good guy sometimes.

".... Haruka. I'm sorry, to have dragged you into all of this. Really."

Haruka just shook his head, moving his jaw around to release pressure built up. He lightly placed his numbing fingers on his chest, as the light blue seal lit up and revealed the pattern of runes around it.

"I'll protect you, as long as you do what you promise. Save everyone."

"Save everyone. Piece of cake... Right?"

Sera laughed, then bit his lip. He was nervous... Obviously. But there was no time for anxiety anymore; the time was now. These two knew it better than anyone. The night sky was filled with a full moon tonight, and this was the last chance Sera and Haruka had to fix the sins they committed in a past life. To stop Cray from being deleted, this was the last hope they could think about.

Sera pressed his hand to the wall, allowing a blue and red swirl to form against it. It pulsated for several moments, releasing an ambient atmosphere before it grew... and grew... eventually wind began to pick up, as the swirl was slowly dragging things into it. First debris, then other small animals and twigs and branches. The two were having a hard time standing in front of the gate as it was. The swirl was a vortex taking things from Earth to Cray. A contract with the Rift, obviously.

"Alright, well... This is goodbye."

"Shut up. You know this isn't over, Sera."

"You never can let things end easily."

"I'm not that sort of person, I guess. I don't like goodbyes."

"See ya later then. Oh, don't forget about Yugure, by the way."

"What about her?"

"Love her. Love her dearly. After what she's been through... she deserves it, even if I hate the cun-"

Before he could finish his obvious affront about Yugure, he stepped into the portal and disappeared from Earth's surface. The portal stayed open, but at a significantly smaller diameter, causing the wind to only be sucking up the small things like dust. Haruka stood in front of it, pressing his hands together in prayer.

Everything was left to Sera. The angel that came into Haruka's life, ruined it, was now going to save everybody. What a cruel fate.

Haruka would cry if he had the ability to right about now but all that came out was an empty sigh, filled by the fog of the contrasting heat between his breath and the desolate, freezing atmosphere which surrounded him. Once more, had placed his hand over the seal on his chest, opened his eyes and breathed.

His eyes glowed a light blue, the color of seafoam. He took an oath to the worst person he could imagine, only to understand that now even the worst of them can have the purest intentions. Whether or not Glendios, Sera.... Sera. Whether or not Sera had these intentions from the beginning.

Haruka was desperate.

He was afraid.

He was alone.

But Sera was there. He helped him. Guided him. Understood him. Hated his guts til the very end and now...

They had each other's back. This was a battle they were fighting on two fronts, even if both world's were against them. There was no way to give on the bonds they now formed.

These two mates would conquer fate back-to-back, even if it meant giving up everything they gained all for the precious sake of saving a world or two from its imminent demise.

Haruka is desperate.

He is afraid.

....

.............

But he isn't alone anymore. And that was enough to bring a smile to his face, and tears back to his eyes.

"This one's for you, kid."

Whoever that kid is, nobody really knows. Sera? Seifer? The younger Haruka that never made it?

It probably doesn't matter now. The future was in the hands of so few people...

...can anyone change this cruel fate?

Rijuku Park Empty Re: Rijuku Park

The fight between two, two heroes bathed in darkness. It was one that transcended the very meaning of "fight". Of war. It was indeed true. At one point, during the fight, Seifer's desire for vengeance, revenge... Anger, Hate, even envy... They all swelled up in one massive pulse of energy... Corrupting the man from within. His mind was lost... Floating within his mind, his sins... His insecurities... Everything passed through, creating even more despair. More distress. This Seifer, from the same world as Haruka and Sera... He lamented his weaknesses, his inability to protect those precious to him. He had no one left in the world. ...No, that wasn't quite right was it?

"Seifer!"

A voice called out to him through the darkness. Who's...? Who was calling him back? Through the blackness of his mind, he could see something faint... A man in front of him. No that wasn't true either. It was him, the target of his vengeance. ...His mouth moved though, as if calling out. This time, the man heard nothing. But it was if, it was Sera was calling to him. Then he heard it again. He was... Why? Why would his enemy do something like this?

"Get out!" Seifer's voice echoed in the void, and the whole world around him shuddered. Snapping back into reality, where the two were still locked in this fight, the two talked... Seifer coming to the realization that pursuing revenge wouldn't get anyone anywhere. Holding a grudge for this long... What good did it do for anyone? Continuing the fight, merely to resolve it now more than anything, Seifer pushed... Wounded, he and the Cyber Dragon at his side both were heavily injured. But that didn't stop them. With the power of the Omega Lock from the previous turn and an extra set of locks, the male and the cyber dragon pushed through the remaining defenses that Sera had, pushing his damage to six finally.

As everything vanished from sight, the wounded Nebula Lord Dragon with the cross shaped scars upon his chest, the brunette gripped his own chest... The strain of the fight, using Link Joker, and striding twice... It took it's toll on him. His vision blurred, the outline of Sera before him just barely visible... In the snow fall, his breath came out in large clouds as he stumbled back. The fight didn't seem to have meaning given what happened after but... On a personal level, Seifer was content. That's what mattered most. Stumbling back, the male collapsed into the snow, eyes shut.

Karin held a hand up as Haruka ran off, reaching out to stop him. But she didn't. "A-Alright, Haruka..." She understood that he was part of something much bigger than she could imagine, and figured that trying to stop him from doing whatever he needed to do would cause more harm than good. She lowered her hand to her side, and stared at the ground solemnly.

It still frustrated her, being powerless to help her friend, not knowing what to do.

But then she felt a familiar warmth, even in the midst of the frozen air. A heat she knew all too well was flaring up from her deck. Pulling it out, she found its source almost immediately. Her blank cards, her Overlords, were radiating their strong flames once more. And with a hot flash, and a flourish of color, they were back.

Whatever Haruka had been trying to do, he had succeeded. Her Overlord was back. Karin sighed with relief, slipping the deck back into her pockets. "Welcome back, My Lord." Karin whispered her greeting to herself, letting the Overlord's warmth spread through and around her. And for once, she heard something in return. A whisper at the edge of hearing, faint, but clear.

"...It's good to be back, My Vanguard."

Yugure knew where he was. Of course she knew. She'd always know. Even if the end of the world was off in the distance, a date with him came first. The wounded soldier marched in the quiet, howling wind, numbing her pain with sheer resolution. Bystanders that weren't distracted by the gloomy skies stared with concern, and they didn't exist in her surroundings. Nothing did. Nothing else him.

That was all she wanted to think about.

From the days the Triad was born, the day Haruka and Satoshi came to the Espoir Manor and the little "incident" occurred with Haruka getting too close, Haruka's being there for her envious rampage with Shadow Paladin, Haruka's warm comfort and solace when she lost Royal and Shadow Paladin, falling in love with the look in his eyes during the World Circuit when they fought, meeting him after two years, even if it was one from his perspective, doing what they could to mend the strain caused by absence, the times they spent together throughout the time she saw...

As a Singularity Point, Yugure Espoir has no written "past".

Even so, the woman walked through memory lane - surrounded by images of their lives together.

Exculpate the Blaster was a thoroughly miserable person. But her friends and family... and most beloved were what kept her alive.

"Haruka..." She quietly called out, reaching the park, and her beloved was in sight.
