Umano Underground Slums City_Slums_by_Livio_by_Livio27
A dark area where the less honest types of people gather.

Field Status

There's a strange stench in the air.
Shadowy figures are swaying in the distance.
There is a strange sound, like the sound of running electricity.
It must be what the Umano Slums are known for, the Underground Fights.

Umano Underground Slums Empty Re: Umano Underground Slums

Post by Dementuo Mon Nov 23, 2015 8:28 pm

Sakuya walked through the musty walkways of the underground. She didn't much like it down here, but then again, she didn't actually like all that much of the world. She didn't like when Link Joker invaded, she didn't like the billions of people she had to kill to purge her world of evil, and she certainly didn't like most of what this world had to offer. All the more reason, though, to purge this place first. It was the biggest source of evil she could sense, so it was only natural to start here.

One of the orbs on the end of her pole was dripping red with blood. Forty-three individuals, twenty-two separate buildings, and six entire blocks demolished and stripped of evil and, in turn, life. So many lives freed of mortal sin, and a large portion of the city cleansed of evil to show for it. Though it wasn't the most pleasant job, she could feel satisfied knowing she was helping both her world and this one. It would be a slow process, for certain, but such was true for her own world as well. It had taken her a number of years to empty her world the first time, she was prepared to do it again.

And yet... It had been nearly half an hour, and she hadn't seen any signs of further life. She could feel the evil this area radiated, the air saturated and thick with it, but she couldn't find any of the people causing it. How odd. Sakuya sighed to herself. Perhaps they had begun to run, to try and escape their judgment? Or perhaps she actually had found everyone, and the excess of evil she had just spent a good two hours within was messing with her senses, clouding them. Whatever the reason, Sakuya would simply press onwards. She had to be sure, and sweep the rest of the district. It wouldn't do to leave even one poor soul alone without proper judgment.

Umano Underground Slums Empty Re: Umano Underground Slums

Satoshi rubbed his temples. Drinking before this was likely a bad idea. Still, he entered the slums. The slums that happened to look...worse than usual. That was a change. A change he wasn't exactly expecting, which meant---

Hoo boy. That wasn't exactly something that was supposed to happen.

When his ringed hand started to glow, he realized what was actually here; just as they had with Queen Yukino and Cyan, the joined markings indicated the presence of what he had learned from Yugure to be called a "seed" of some kind. Simliar, he had guessed, to the seed that forced Nebula Lord into him a while ago.

The goal was to take care of the seeds in more than just a cardfight. Once weakened, they had to be directly dealt with...no matter how much that went against his morals. Satoshi felt his pocket for a moment. An overnight, secure package had been sent from his residence the previous evening.

It was the pistol that had appeared almost magically at the Hawaiian home miles and miles away. He needed protection for the job he had planned for, but this...this made things a little easier to handle, at least in theory.

Turning the corner, he saw her. A being that almost seemed a goddess of some kind. While this hadn't exactly been the intended mark...she'd have to do. Especially since, several feet to her right, the actual mark laid a decrepit corpse.

Sakuya blinked for a moment as a new face stepped into view. She raised her pole and pointed it at him, the bloody tip still dripping. "You there! It's time to pass judgment on you, by the decree of the Moon Goddess!" Sakuya declared her intentions loudly, her deck materializing in its usual bright flare next to her. She held her other hand up to it, the deck floating a few inches away from her fingertips, as if she held it with some invisible extension of her hand. The usual barely-visible table took form in front of both her and her new target, Sakuya's own cards laying themselves out onto it. She stuck her pole back into the ground, though she kept one hand wrapped around its middle. "I'll give you a chance to confess and accept your judgment. If you do, I might let you go to heaven instead."

Satoshi shook his head. "More like you can go to hell." Pulling his deck out of its case, the rings glowed more brightly.

He was ready this time. This was something that had to be done.

Umano Underground Slums Empty Re: Umano Underground Slums

Post by Best Girl Tue Nov 24, 2015 11:36 am

The white-caped commander of humanity entered the Umano Slums. Judging by the chaos, destruction, and overwhelming scent of blood, Yugure guessed a Seed was nearby. Would have to deal with that in a minute. For now, she approached the area that Hikaru mainly used for the overall "plaza" of his turf. It was mostly undamaged at least. There was some worry in the air, though. Listening in, the woman picked up on the Underground King's apparent disappearance. Likely due to the distortions like Hana and Rosalia. When they saw Yugure, they began casually greeting her, and welcoming her back. It had been awhile since the girl came here, and it doubled as another base of operations for the army. Espoir soldiers and brutes hung out with the Slums' dogs for the time being.

"Where is Shiki?" She inquired, ready to interrogate. However, there was a problem. ... The Glendios wielder was in a coma, and it seemed his body was... decaying. His bodily functions worked only enough to keep him alive, but not awake. His hair was being drained of color, and the Reverse energy rating within him was almost entirely dead. What on Earth happened? Tsubasa had annihilated Glendios, but this shouldn't have happened to Shiki.

"Can't you do something? I need to talk to him about the Reapers. If he's the main human spearhead of Link Joker, he has to know about them."

"We're helping him stay alive, but that's all we can do."

"Nothing you do can wake him up?"

"Shock therapy is making his vitals worse. If we want him alive, we definitely can't force it like that."

Yugure groaned, pulling on her hair. He's the last person left who could possibly know if the Reapers are on the way or not for certain... The fear driven girl was tempted to hit him, to try anything to wake him up. More than just the Reapers, how did he become the Seed? Why did Chaos Breaker go to him? Why did he nearly get the world destroyed to prove everyone else is an idiot for being "shounen" and trying to solve problems with card games? Exhaling with seething anger, the irritated general simply left. All of this would be fruitless if he was just dead.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, she asked about the Seed situation.

The target has been confirmed as Sakuya - Tsukuyomi's user and one of the Seeds doing the most damage. If not doing the most damage out of them all. Satoshi was sighted and he may be fighting her. Soldiers are moving in to land the killing blow if something goes wrong and Kurosaki wouldn't be able to do it.

"Good work", Yugure commended the employees for their information. While concerned for Satoshi, she believed he'd be able to deal the finishing hit. However, there was still... Dalis. And that disgusting mirror.

That mirror that called out, an echoing, mocking cackle.

Umano Underground Slums Empty Re: Umano Underground Slums

Post by Dementuo Tue Nov 24, 2015 3:44 pm

And so their fight began. A fight that would be like any other she had done, of course, and she had done many fights today already. Tsukuyomi's ride chain succeeded as usual, the goddess herself giving Sakuya her grace. A perfect run; Tsukuyomi breakriding for a final strike, with Hexagonal Magus' breakride skill guaranteeing two criticals on top. Tsukuyomi went in for the kill with no resistance. This man would face judgment.

But that was not what happened.

The 6th damage heal. Something Sakuya hadn't foreseen in her vision of victory. This man, a wielder of Genesis' own Goddess of Luck, was defying his preordained fate. Her vision, her unmistakable future, was wrong. Sakuya was shocked.

But that wasn't the end of it. This man, who's fate Sakuya had already decided on, was defying it all. His fate, Sakuya's judgment, everything she had seen and determined on. Even with the Goddess herself backing Sakuya in this fight, this man still pressed on and survived it all.

Minerva's appearance, and her dual-attacks. Sakuya's own two heal triggers to escape defeat herself. Even her last Stride Turn, where the Evening Moon Deity herself appeared to put an end to it all. Sakuya knew what would be on the top of her deck. She knew what her drive checks would be. A heal, and two critical triggers. Sakuya made her checks.

Tetra Magus.

Luck Bird.

Lozenge Magus.

Not only were her checks wrong, but the heal was in the wrong place. Sakuya was speechless. Her vision, the foresight that had only failed her against the boy from the other world, Amatsuki, was now proving utterly useless. And past that turn, Sakuya couldn't see a thing. The man before her was doing the impossible, turn after turn. Defied Judgment. Rejected fate. And now, even changing the future was on his list of fallacies he committed. The man strode. And three critical triggers later, Sakuya had lost.

...

The cards in her deck scattered about, fading individually this time. Sakuya felt numb. Her eyesight was blurring. All she could feel was a warm touch on her shoulder, and what she could only assume was a faint light shining down on her. Was this her future now? Was she departing to heaven to be with her Goddess?

"So you're... trusting them... and this world?"

Sakuya spoke faintly, barely able to choke the words out. Her entire body felt heavy. She stood alone, the man that defeated her standing before her, the only thing she could see. This man was saying something. He was introducing himself, and took her name in exchange. Somehow he knew about Sakuya's goals, and why she had appeared in this world. Somehow he knew. Somehow, his foresight was better than hers. Sakuya reached out to him, the only thing she knew now. Her own fate was uncertain, perhaps, at least to her.

Her grip on her pole loosened.

Tsukyomi lifted her guiding hand from Sakuya's shoulder.

She fell backwards, into the dark unknown.

And it was here that she awaited her fate, whatever it may be.

With the Regalia finally awakened in this timeline, Satoshi was able to fight off Sakuya, one of the Seeds Yugure spoke of. She seemed surprised that he knew everything, but that was from experience at the hands of Cyan. He knew what to expect, especially when someone used Stride.

The self-proclaimed goddess laid on the ground now, her resolve completely lost from her premonitions being mistaken. He shook his head. She didn't deserve this. None of the Seeds truly did. They were sticking up for their timelines. They had to do something.

But unfortunately...if it had to be that death would solve it...

"I'm sorry, Sakuya. I hope, for your sake, that your heaven forgives you."

Satoshi leaned down, silenced pistol in hand, and let fire a shot, point blank at her forehead, while looking away.

It was done.

The report that Sakuya was dead came in ridiculously fast.

There were only two Seeds left now. Seyer and the disgusting mirror. Unfortunately, the mirror was probably going to be an issue. Queen Yukino hadn't been seen since Glendios anywhere, and Yugure knew herself better than she'd like to. That queen was planning, plotting, growing power in reserves. The Chosen Sword had a good idea where she'd be but this would require caution. These parallels think the same way, meaning an ambush is next to useless, especially with herself leading the charge.

"Tell me when a man with Seifer's face gets here. I need to do something."

Yugure flipped open her phone. She had a contact to reach while she had the open time, and a strategy to formulate.

It wasn't long until the report came to Yukino that a man who liked like Seifer just... walked up. No worries in the world it really seemed. However, if someone were to look closely at him, it was easy to tell he'd been crying. For what reasons? Well, no one probably cared enough to ask. He was still considered an enemy and many of the solders there regarded him with animosity. They wouldn't act without Yukino's orders though. A plus for the brunette. Seyer remained passive, waiting for the ivory haired woman in the middle of several guards, his hands behind his back like a soldier waiting for orders.

Slamming her cell phone shut, the woman walked back out into the open after hearing that Seyer arrived. "At ease", she gave a global command to the soldiers, approaching the Seed as he walked through the turf of the missing Underground King. He didn't look so good. Part of her didn't really want to care, as a parasite's feelings mean little as it is. Though, because he has Seifer's face...

"Are you alright?" The Chosen Sword inquired, looking at his eyes with a... softer gaze than she'd ever give an enemy. More like one she'd give to a friend.

That was new, and not something he was expecting... And the guards who saluted first before being told to go at ease, glanced at each other nervously for a moment. "I'll be fine just... Saw some faces I haven't seen in a long time. Faces I didn't think I'd ever see again." he replied, his eyes going half shut as he met her gaze. "...Thank you." he whispered his thanks to her for asking his feelings. He knew she didn't have to, and it was probably due to him looking like another that she had a bond with. But it was genuinely appreciated nonetheless. "That being said... I've eliminated three of the others. Noel disappeared as she didn't have her seed. ...And other than that... disgusting mirror..." he paused for a moment, clearly agreeing with with several people's feelings. "I can't feel the last one. As far as I'm concerned I'm still your sword in this, until we take the rest of them down." he paused again. "After that I'll forfeit my life, just like I promised."

Yugure kept staring at him, watching his expressions. Hearing about seeing friends was one thing, but Noel was something else. This man... was basically a beaten down Seifer. Seeing his sister must've significantly shaken him up. That was Yugure's guess, anyway. Folding her arms, the girl listened to him get down to business. Efficient, removing three parasites from the prime timeline. At this rate, the distortions should be entirely gone soon.

... If they could deal with the mirror, anyway.

"You can't feel her because she likely left this dimension."

A sort of radical guess, but she was basing it off of something she would do with a disappearance like this.

"She isn't on Cray, and she isn't on Earth. After Glendios was destroyed, she probably decided to find a new approach, since killing the great evil to be a hero was no longer an option. The damn trash is probably hiding in some asinine castle. I can find her and use..."

Yugure spoke things nobody would be able to know normally. However, it was really nothing special that led her to these conclusions. Queen Yukino's ambitions, her choice of recluse in solace, it was all things the Chosen Sword herself would do in the past. They're the same person - thus the same way of thinking. The only difference was the level of arrogance between them.

Use... what though? The answer was the woman doing something she hadn't in awhile, and that was summon the blade of Majesty Lord Blaster.

"... this to cut through space to make a way, I hope."

That was one of two necessary gambles.

"Once we find her, I need to ambush her. She's extremely careful and will be able to parry head-on assaults, so I need a significant distraction. You alone might not be enough."

The male stared at the blade for a moment, listening to the plan. It was solid. Very solid. He'd willingly use himself as a distraction anyway. It was all part of the plan, the big picture. However... "And what if his blade doesn't work? What do you have planned next?... Surely this can't be your only gambit n- Yukino." he stuttered for a moment, almost saying something else entirely. It was hard for him not to. Even for the scum that he really was, he had feelings... Emotions. He was a bundle of them. "On that note, how many are even going with us? She's powerful, probably as strong as me, if not stronger. ...I don't want to see anyone hurt if I can help it, but how many people can actually stand up to her?" it was a genuine question. He was worried.

"... I'll make sure it works."

The hatred Yugure and Yukino had for their mirrors was beyond imaginable. If they threatened to drive a blade through the other's heart, they would dare to defy universal force to ensure the other was dead. This sword would cut through time and space to reach The Kingdom to uphold that violent vow. The blade struck the ground with a slash, putting up dust and dirt to emphasis the anger Yugure would use to see this through.

"... I only need one more person to go with us to ensure this works."

Yugure almost responded to the start of him saying the obvious: "nee-san". ... It'd probably be easier for her to not respond to that, considering... he's not her Seifer. He's a Seifer who was at the end of the line.

"Nobody has to stand up against her for long. Just long enough for her to think I didn't come with you all, and she lets her guard down. Then I can go in and end this."

"...If you're confident this will work, I have no reason to not trust you." he shut his eyes breathing out slowly. This was going to be even worse on him. She was a different time line, but the faces were the same. ...Maybe this hesitation, the pain he felt going after those with the faces of people he knew and loved. Were friends with, that doomed his timeline. Maybe it was what made him unsuitable to lead after the incident. In any case, the brunette opened his eyes again and looked around. He was pretty sure these soldiers weren't going with them so, who would be the third anyway?

"I'm never drinking another drop of alcohol for the rest of my life."

"Should probably stick with coffee there. Probably just a "lightweight", as they call it."

"What do you know about drinking?"

"It gives you massive headaches. You've been complaining about it all the way down here anyways."

Haruka slumped his shoulders, listen to Sera essentially put him down for coming in the night before all drunk and noisy. It seemed not even Sera had a tolerance for drunk people, despite having the best laugh of his entire life... which was only two days long so far.

The two approached the Resistance HQ in the slums, where Haruka had to confess to his cheating. That was one of the few times being here made him feel awkward. It was more homey than before, but still lingering with brutes and the like that just made him, and admittedly, Sera, feel nervous about the ordeal.

They approached the main area, catching sight of who they believed to be Yukino. Correct, Haruka. Correct.

However the next guess, who he believed to be Seifer... was wrong. That was someone else entirely, who only resembled the close friend of his, and dare it be said, a closer friend of Sera's. Awkwardly approaching, Sera awkwardly waved, Haruka did the same but with a bit more enthusiasm.

"H-Hey guys. Figured if you weren't at the Cardfight Training Area anymore, you'd head back to the original base of operations. I brought Se-Drake with me again. Remember? From Straight Harm... Yeah."

"Hi, I'm Drake."

Sera nodded, almost cracking up, patting Haruka on the back to go forward before he burst into laughter. Haruka scratched his head, looking at the two.

"Er, what's going on guys... It's tense around here, y'know..."

The headache was ensuing again. Haruka's nonchalant scratch became a somewhat pained grasp at the back of his head. Sera continued to embarrassingly hold in his laughter.

Umano Underground Slums Empty Re: Umano Underground Slums

Post by NovaRaizer Tue Nov 24, 2015 8:47 pm

Darren walked into the Slums area, being called to go there by the feeling that something was there. He had been hearing about the Seeds and where they were, but he was never in time to actually fight them. Each time, he had to watch them die. It was becoming too much to bear. Even if he didn't know these people, he still didn't want them to go through this.

Once more, he was late... too late. He couldn't tell if it was Daikaiser stalling him or if he was just having that much bad luck... Maybe it was good luck. No one had more than one Seed within him. No human body should be able to handle that and live.

Darren turned as he was thinking about what he needed to do next, seeing Yugure and... Seifer? No, that couldn't be the Seifer he knew. That Seifer was in a hospital bed. He'd seen it himself. He walked up to them as he looked into Seifer's eyes. He wasn't an enemy at least...

"What's going on over here, anyway?" Darren said, wondering why people were gathering in this place. Even Haruka was there. He did take note of it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raiden had spent what felt like days asking questions and following leads. From the cardfighters in the area, he learned about the War of Liberation and the battle against the Link Jokers. It all centered around this town. He also kept hearing a name. Yugure, the Chosen Sword that took it upon herself to stop the conflict. Darren Shurensei as well, the loud hero who destroyed the shopping district in a battle against a "Reversed Fighter". If he hadn't fought that girl Cyan, he would have never believed this sort of thing. It sounded like something out of a fairy tale, but it was truth.

He was now watching them all from a distance. He didn't know if he could trust them yet. That one man had killed Cyan in cold blood. Even if she did wish for it, to do it the way he did was unsettling. That Yugure girl seemed no better. He had heard rumor that she was the one who ordered the Seeded Fighters like Cyan be killed. Who was she to make a demand like that? As soon as he had a chance, he would have questions for her as well, but for now he needed to know more, so he would watch, not engage.

The woman gripped at her blade fiercely, turning away from Seyer, and not even noticing Haruka and his new friend, not hearing Darren, not noting any distant gazes... All she could think about is her uprising. How she was born as this "Chosen Sword" with a destiny beyond the "common fools". In a way, she was simply raised to fall eventually... The first "failure" at Regionals two years ago that led to a downward spiral. Everything was all due to the fact that she was raised with a prophecy. "How could I fail when it's already determined I win?", she would question. Simple, because the world isn't you.

It'll never be you.

And because you didn't realize that sooner, you were placed on a horse too high to ever recover if you fell.

Which is exactly what happened.

And Yugure never would mend the wound to her heart born of this. The her of success is doomed eventually, and the her of now is just barely making up for a myriad of screw ups. ... There was nothing to do about it either. Nothing except knock down the queen and end this ridiculous farce with some existential suicide. Tonight, one of them dies.

With the courage to face such an awful fate, and the resolution to prove what she learned about her life, the Chosen Sword swung Majesty Lord Blaster, ripping a hole in time and space in front of everyone in the area. A portal, yes, a blue portal with the sound of a choir in a religious setting appeared.

Mirror, mirror. Tell me something.
Tell me, which of us is the loneliest of all?

I know the answer.

Several people showed up at once. Several who still had the faces of others and yet... One... He could feel something off with one. Staring at the one introduced as Drake, Seyer seemed to stare right through him, stare into his soul. Waving back however, he greeted Haruka and Drake, though didn't give much of a smile or anything. He was just mentally preparing himself for the worst to come. When Darren showed up making eye contact however, Seyer didn't break it until he did. Only when Yukino cut a hole in space did he move. "I'm going to take point." he stated, moving to the portal first.

Haruka nodded at the mysterious faces now showing up. Darren was... somewhat familiar. From the camping trip, for sure. However he only caught glimpses of the man here and there so he couldn't really draw many conclusions from the expression he had.

The man who waved at them was still menacing to Haruka. Sera forgot to pay attention and was busy chasing around a blue-winged butterfly around, hopping and skipping away. He was giggling in fact, as if messing around. It wasn't til that it flew over a giant gaping hole in existence did Sera stop and realize what happened.

"Oh... Oh boy. Not another one of these."

Sera muttered to himself, crossing his arms and shrugging. Not like he was going to be angry about it, but he really hated travelling through portals. Twice in a lifetime was enough; a third time was pushing it...

This was his fourth time going through one of them. He might get sick on the other side. No promises.

"What's the plan Yugure?" Sera said, picking at the stitching on his arms a little. Haruka shook his head like an angry mother, noting him to stop messing with his bindings.

"Kill the queen."

Good terrorist sounding plan, humanity's commander.

"Seyer, you and I are going in first. I need to hide. My mirror will detect me, so you all have to distract her."

The problem is Queen Yukino was no fool. Which means...

"... and you're all going to have to trust me if you want to kill the Seed."

The Meister walked in first, having the sword disappear.

Oh boy, they were going in first. He needed to distract Queen Yukino while this one hid away. Good plan. Actually it was pretty good in all honesty, if he had gone first. So now he needed to act fast. Walking in after the ivory haired woman, one of Ezel's blades appeared in his right hand. It was time to really do what he needed to do. Time to finish this.

So killing her really was the goal. Darren didn't like that, but he didn't have a choice. He was trusting them to go in first while they were trusting him to help. If nothing were to go wrong then maybe he could take the Seed to protect her from death... no that wasn't a good idea.

Raiden saw the hole in space. He could hardly believe that such a thing could be done by a human. Were they even human? Another question to ask later. He was just close enough to hear their talking so he heard the plan. She really was moving to kill. Probably the best in this case, but she still has a very heartless way of showing it.

Haruka followed suit behind his dearest and the man who gave the really dark look. He was sort of scared to even venture into the hole, knowing that rips in time and space don't have a good relationship with him.

Sera sighed, shook his head, breaking his fear for a whole ten seconds of portals, before sprinting through it and performing an 8.5/10 dolphin dive into it. He was aware that it would be as simple as walking through it, most likely. But if he didn't go in style, what was the point of going.

He gripped onto his new deck, placed a kiss and a prayer on it, and his toes left the ground as he went through.

"Selenium help me...!"
