Where tourists hate tourists.

Field Status
Some stranger probably has you in their photo by now.
It's full of big screens and nice lights.
The usual movie cliche looking place that gets destroyed.
In this situation however the place is almost empty.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by BluishOver Tue Nov 10, 2015 7:55 pm

As instructed the jet touched down on the roof of a building in Times Square, originally the two expected a lively setting similar to the last time when they were here. Unfortunately, that was not the case, Times Square seemed almost completely empty with only a few signs of life, but those signs were from reversed individuals. One thing was clear though based on the atmosphere that they saw on their way there it was clear that the Reverse was mainly concentrated here...the last place where Neu was spotted.

"...What on earth happened here..." he said, as stared into the dark streets of an invaded part of New York.

Tsubasa took a moment to take in the scene in front of him...well whatever was left in front of him

"What do you think Yukino?" he asked, as he stood on the rooftop staring down at the state of Times Square.

Yugure knew something was off, because New York didn't make her sick to her stomach like it did before. That happened due to a massive influx of tourists and being generally unable to get anywhere that wasn't crowded or stunk of fast food. However, she quickly felt sick anyway feeling how devoid of life this place was. Hopping out of the plane, she and the paladins knew immediately Reverse was the only living human life here at the moment. Yet, something else felt more off than that. There were corpses below, and they emitted Reverse energy.

Poor souls died while still lost in madness.

Adjusting her new replacement jacket, she scoffed. "How disgusting this war has left New York..."

Scarred. This state was scarred with death and Reverse.

"We can do a full investigation later. I'll have other Espoir soldiers scout the area. In the meantime, you and I should go to that 'void' you recall. Let's try not to draw attention either. Chances are we're currently outnumbered."

Not like being outnumbered by Reversed drones ever meant anything to the two of them.

Tsubasa froze for a few minutes as he saw the image below, corpses of dead fighters, those who emitted reverse energy were actually murdered...

It was clear that this was not Neu's work, on one hand you saw unreversed fighters unconscious from their fight but on the other you see actual death of those who emitted the reverse energy.

"...Who would do such a thing...this is not Neu's style, this is not her doing..." he said, staring at the scene and back to the Neon Messiah card.

Upon Yukino's prompt Tsubasa nodded and shifted back his focus to finding that 'void' area that he saw in his vision, based on the location they were not far from it that much. The two descended from the roof all the way to the streets, of course they were greeted by a few reversed fighters, but they did not put up much of a fight, one thing was certain though, they were drawn by the same void that was enshrouding the area with negative energy. The two continued walking towards the area that Tsubasa could remember from his vision.

"...Do you remember the last time we all were here..back then all I was interested in was getting through the Circuit stage, it all felt so simple back then...I never imagined things would escalate the way they did or to the way they are now..." he said, as he continued walking. "..If the situation gets out of hand make sure you're safe most of all...I'm not ready to lose anymore of my friends."

It may have seemed out of place for him to say this considering the situation, but he had to get it out of his system, things have been so hectic it almost felt like he was unable to breathe and all his mind was fixated on was surviving this ordeal.

Now was the time to react because their target was right in front of them..an area in the heart of Times Square, almost like a small sphere-like zone enshrouded by the reverse energy.

"..This is it.." he said, as he stared at the sphere. "...She's in there....I can feel it, she has to be..."

"I doubt Neu did this. If the Messiah had been Reversed at any point, we'd be in far deeper trouble..."

It's true. Having someone who can transcend under the control of Star-vaders would've been game over the second it happened. Though, it was unsure if he'd feel better knowing that. Because that truly meant she was just... gone. Reverse fighters caught her attention when they started looming toward them like scattered zombies. They weren't in a large swarm, so it was simple to fight them off with Revengers, and subsequently knock a few out by hand. Liberators in a joint-effort with Ezel used by Yugure and Tsubasa helped strike out others that plotted ambushes.

Tsubasa began to speak of old times while they walked. The time of the World Circuit... not a time she really wanted to remember. Then again, it was true, everyday life was simple for Tsubasa. As far as she saw, he was never deeply involved with the chaos of everything happening to Cray. He'd give an arm trying to help her though, which was another good thing in itself.

"As a general it's my job to make sure you get out safe before I do. Besides, I have better defense if we really get into a bind", the commander responded to the man's notion of making sure she's safe above all. Comrades came first. To add onto the point of having safer defense, Blaster Dark's claymore appeared in hand. If any situation turned more ugly than desired... well.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Yugure simply gazed upon the destruction of Times Square as they got to the heart of the area. This was far beyond just hordes of Reverse fighters. No, something far worse must've caused grand devastation to this place. Was a commander here? It was doubtful Neu managed this scale of destruction willingly. Even unwillingly, it wouldn't be this bad.

Seeing the sphere gave the woman a feeling as if a rock just sank in at the pit of her stomach. Soldier's instinct knew to be ready for something worse than Reverse zombies.

"... Sticking your hand in a sphere of void energy is highly ill-advised."

If she hadn't said anything, that's probably exactly what he was about to do.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Gazing at the sphere Tsubasa could feel something familiar from it, Neu and something else, something he bonded with for a while now..but it was still unclear from the outside view. Yukino advised that they stay away from the sphere but this was the core of his vision and without it all of this would make no sense, this was his mess and he did not want her to be put into something similar to what Neu put here through before so he simply pocketted his hands and listened to his units for their input.

"..My Vanguard..are you sure you want to go through with this..." asked Ahmes and Brennius.
"..You both know what I have to do, they both have done a lot for me...I can't just leave things like this..." he thought, his thoughts reaching them with ease.

Tsubasa took a few steps closer to the sphere and stopped, his back facing Yukino he started talking, "..Earlier you mentioned that as a general it's your job to make sure that I am safe...heh while I do appreciate it, I can't let that be the case right now, we're in this together you don't have to handle it all..besides...as a friend it is my desire to make sure that you make it out of this, I've told it to you many times..event though I respect you as the resistance leader..I will always look at you as my friend." he said, turning the side of his head to see her from the side and giving a light smile. "..Don't worry about me.." he said, giving a thumbs up and leaping into the sphere in an instant.

Inside the sphere felt very strange and out of this world but even though he was surrounded by the reverse energy it looked as if...the reverse energy was trying to surround something else...something that is holding back the reverse.

"...This feeling..Neu! Are you there?! Answer me!" he shouted, receiving no response in return, however he did see something flowing red in the middle of the space that the sphere created.

"...This is..." he said, getting closer to the red object. "...Ezel...this is my deck..the one I gave Neu...why would this thing be left here..." he thought as he lightly grabbed the deck...

In an instant that grab seemed to set off a time bomb in Tsubasa's mind, within seconds he was thrown into a series of flashbacks and images of Neu fighting the reverse in New York but...it ended with something tragic...Neu..vanishing..

"...NO! COME BACK!" he shouted, at the same time the deck engulfing him with a black aura. "..This feeling is..it's familiar....Neu..."

From the outside the sphere glowed and vanished, leaving Tsubasa in the middle of it, holding a deck in his right hand, his body surrounded by a black aura, and his eyes glowing with anger and the desire for revenge...

"...AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" he shouted releasing all of the remaining reverse energy from the sphere away from him and Yukino...yet it did not seem to calm him down...just what was happening...

New York - Times Square 13d1442fe3249a3f

In that instant two reverse fighters appeared a few feet away from them, but the minute they appeared was the same minute they were sent flying, unreversed and thrown aside by the impact of their fight loss.

"...YOU..WILL ALL...PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!" he shouted, the dark aura around him increasing in capacity.

Of course he would go in anyway. Yugure and the whole Sanctuary put their money on it happening. Giving an irritated sigh, the Chosen Sword leaned back on the claymore planted in the ground. As a general and his friend, she would be ready to handle anything that happened to him. "Don't worry about me", the man jumping into a sphere of void said. Ezel was in tears over such determination and bravery, cheering his vanguard on. "That's my boy", the lion sobbed. Yugure was a bit annoyed with how someone would go through such lengths for Neu, even Tsubasa of all people.

It was just a hardcore disdain she had for the messiah. After all, she obtained her godhood by ruining the war general's life. Then practically became a hero and governor of Vanguard for it. Even so, the Chosen Sword decided to keep her mouth shut. Neu was divine authority, and as a magical blacksmith soldier, what did her say even matter? That, and that woman was someone Tsubasa cherished with enough heart to go out of the country to find.

If not for her, Yugure wants to do this for him.

Suddenly, her attention was drawn to the sphere reacting to something by shining. Then, it dissipated. Tsubasa was... cloaked in a ghastly black aura. He began roaring, sending away all of the area's Reverse power. His anger was clear, he saw something horrible inside of that void. Attracted to the loud noise and discharge of energy, drone fighters appeared. Yugure could barely react as Tsubasa sent them flying, unreversed.

His roaring rampage of revenge was declared to the heavens.

"I should've known this would happen", Yugure cursed under her breath. "Tsubasa! Can you hear me?!" She picked up her sword, rushing forward. "Calm down!"

"Tch!!.." reacted Tsubasa, as he turned around and drew a card from his now returned Ezel deck, sending a shockwave to stop Yukino's assault, it seemed to have worked as he put away the cards in his pocket.

Now with the soldier halted for a few seconds he attempted to launch an attack against her with great speed...however, before he could land a hit...he froze, centimeters away from Yukino "...Y-u-k-i-n-o..get away...I don't want to hurt you" he muttered, his expression showing an image of suffering and despair as he tried to regain control of himself but to no success. The same line pulsing in his mind like a never ending chain of ripples..with her voice..

"...I give what I have left in me....it's not much....but please promise me this..protect the world of Vanguard promise me once again that you will strive to help them enjoy this game...my dear, Tsubasa."

His mind was clouded, all he could see were evil smiles and distorted expressions of the people who surrendered to the reverse, now standing on it's side in an attempt to lead the invaders to victory, unaware of the suffering they were causing to everyone around them...and now...ending Neu in front of him, in his mind, as he watched her give her last words and vanish..

"...Gaaahuh...How..can I fulfill my promise...when I could not even protect you...N-e-u.." he muttered, grasping his head and backing away from Yukino slightly. "..What can I do...I can't let myself harm Yukino or innocent people....."

Destroy Them!

"...I..."

Destroy Them, let them feel the pain of loss that you feel right now!

"....I-I..."

Destroy Them! Are you really going to allow the same tragedy that happened to you years ago to repeat itself?!

"......" with widened eyes Tsubasa unleashed his energy once again, as he allowed the voice of his anger and desire for revenge to consume him...so this is what power when, influenced by anger, can make you do...your emotions can be your biggest weakpoint.

"THAT...IS ALL I CAN TAKE...I WILL END THIS WAR..ANYONE WHO STANDS IN THE WAY OF THAT GOAL WILL SUFFER THE SAME WAY SHE AND MANY OTHERS SUFFERED FROM THIS ONGOING STRUGGLE!! REVENGE..BEGINS NOW!" he shouted, raising his shadow deck to draw out the pawns of the reverse, though he did not want to face Yukino but if he had to he would...currently he can't think straight, now that he has resolved to stop resisting against his the voice of anger and vengeance.

"ALL OF YOU!....FACE ME!!" he shouted, the shadow paladin units in his hand, reacting to his anger and shaking in a frenzy as a response to Tsubasa's condition.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by NoelKusanagi Thu Nov 12, 2015 5:48 pm

Unknown to present day Yukino and Tsubasa, the Noel who came from one of the gateways was observing what was happening from a rooftop at a distance. Her travels after appearing to this time ended her up in New York as well. Just being there with all the chaos that is happening felt right at home for her. Corpses, Reverse fighters, confusion, and sorrow. All of these things were normal, daily things from this version of Noel. Nothing surprised her, in fact, she already expected that various parts of the world had started to crumble down.

Link Joker must be stopped here and now... otherwise... I may lose this world as well... I'll do whatever it takes to prevent that from happening. Even if it means going to the most darkest of paths...

New York - Times Square Red-eyed-girl

Her cold, dead stare now was directed at Tsubasa, who seemed to be losing control of his own self and started going berserk. Watching the scene unfold started bringing back memories of how the end of her time began. "At this rate, his true inner flames will never come out and history would thus repeat itself. The road to his death in this time is closer than I thought... either Link Joker will be the ones or..." She paused, knowing that for the safety of all of humanity, Noel isn't afraid of killing her own friends even if they had died in her own time. The hesitation of doing things that may endanger loved ones was no longer in her. Friends come and go. In the end, a person only has themselves to rely on in a world filled of chaos and destruction. Crying for their deaths is simply a waste of time and effort for surviving. Noel has seen fighters in her own time sacrificing their own friends to save themselves from the deadly attacks of Link Joker only for them to die as well just moments after.

Observing Tsubasa also brought back memories of how he died. In a similar scenario of a city being ravaged by Link Joker's energy mixed with corpses and destroyed buildings brought out a similar, if not, exact reaction from Tsubasa. It blinded him in revenge and desire to destroy Link Joker and charged in head on without a plan. No time to prepare or think of anything, it was suicide. He quickly got surrounded and was attacked by a strange formation that the Star-vaders didn't use originally. Defending very early and suddenly two units attacked at the same time with unimaginable strength. It was something no one has ever seen before and was terrifying. Tsubasa never stood a chance, and the same energy that would normally Reverse a person was doing something else. That energy was somehow absorbing his life energy until the life in him was literally gone. It was something no one can do but watch. He was screaming loud in pain until silence. He was dead, robbed of his life force and the same life force fueled the invaders. And just like that, one by one, everyone not knowing how to stop the invaders fell...

Noel took out and stared at her strongest unit, the unit that eradicated Link Joker from Earth. Phantom Blaster Diablo... I was robbed of my hope and heart yet you still kept me alive.... I should of died a long time ago yet you insist in keeping me alive. Father's will, you really are the devil... Reversed fighters somehow spotted her and surrounded her on the rooftop. "And the devil I will become..." She turned around to see the Reverse fighters gathered like a zombie horde. Another mass of infected life that needs to be exterminated. There is no point in sparing those who were weak enough to fall under the Reverse's spell. Noel lifted Phantom Blaster Diablo in which a dark cloud consumed them, killing the fighters. When the cloud subsided, their lifeless bodies stood in front of her. Paying no mind to the corpses, she turns around and continues to watch Tsubasa, expecting what she had lived through already; the end of the world

Yugure's words seemed to have fallen on deaf ears, as Tsubasa released a shockwave to hinder her advancement. Quickly getting her footing back, the berserk hero charged in retaliation. She took a defensive stance, but saw him stop. Perhaps her words actually broke through? A cringe, his mind was distorted with whatever he saw within the void. He was consumed by a wrathful desire for vengeance, even armed with the Revengers.

He wanted to end the war and make those who oppose him suffer like Neu and others did.

That was fine.

Flashbacks of how the United Sanctuary suffered... Yugure was significantly driven by a hateful thirst for vengeance. That's why she tore Nebula Lord apart.

This was different. Tsubasa was in a blind fit of rage because of it.

Liberators came up in arms, ready to stop him before he caused any damage. All of his friends were ready.

Post by BluishOver Thu Nov 12, 2015 9:48 pm

"I WILL END THIS...but first...I'll deal with you..." announced Tsubasa, as he took Yukino's challenge and prepared his starting vanguard.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQUsnto_3pw

The battle waged on between the two fighters, each driven by a different reason to beat the other. Tsubasa took the offensive at first pushing Yukino back with consecutive attacks, but she was anything but prepared, countering with blaster blade and pushing ahead. With both players on a grade 3 Vanguard, Tsubasa was immediately bent on striding into a G unit but for some reason, his hands would not let him drop the grade 3, forcing him to rely on breakriding for an advantage.

"WHY WON'T YOU LET ME DO IT!" he shouted, angered by his own weakness.

"...I can't hurt her..." he would think, as he instead brokrode his card.

Even with Tsubasa holding himself back from striding the fight was still being pushed far, triggers were definitely on his side. However, something appeared out of nowhere, despite Yukino's condition she chose to stride, but the stride she used...was definitely an interesting one. A cold hearted dragon that stomped on it's allies regardless of how Yukino pleaded for him to stop, he would still crush those around him for power...in some ways Tsubasa liked the card..but at the same time he had mixed feelings about it.

Yukino was looking terrible after her first stride, just by attacking with Aurageyser she began to cough blood from the strain that he put on her. What disturbed Tsubasa even more was the fact that he called her weak, and that she knew it...

"...She's not weak, she's one of the strongest people I know!" he thought.

"IT DOES NOT MATTER TO ME, NOW I STRI-" again halted by his inner desire to not harm her, he instead resorted to breakride, this time into Diablo's unit, Dragruler Phantom.

Watching Yukino suffer because of him tore him inside, he could not bare to believe that he was the reason his friends were suffering.

"GET OUT OF MY WAY! PHANATIC ILLUS- WHAT'S HAPPENING...-one eyes returns to normal-..Yu-ki-no...I can't hold him back much longer...you have to finish this now!" he said, as Tsubasa declared the end of his turn before Dragruler could strike her in her weakened state.

With a stride once again to Aurageyser Yukino was put into a difficult situation, Tsubasa could tell, if she attacked with that unit then it could possibly mean a tragic result. She called Blaster Blade Liberator and attacked Dragruler, Aurageyser still mocking both of them for resisting true power.

"...You have no idea how strong she is Dragon! I've been reminded today that self-strength is not what will help us end this war...not if we endanger those we are about...now you remember this, i'm not losing to you and I want give you the chance to torture Yukino Anymore!" he shouted. "No Guard!- NO STOP THIS YOU CAN'T AHHHHH"

A fitting strike to awaken Tsubasa and end the struggle between his two Vanguards, Blaster Blade Liberator ended a fight that brought pain and suffering to the two. As the dark Aura exited Tsubasa, he slowly walked to Yukino's side, helping her to stand and walk as he felt extremely ashamed for letting her end up like this.

"..Just as you won't let me fall that far, I will help you stand up, like everyone around you will, because you are my friend Yukino." he said, as he put her arm around his back and helped her stand upright so that they may return to the jet to get her help.

"...I never want to lose myself like that again..."

Post by Cipher Thu Nov 12, 2015 10:19 pm

The sound of echoing footsteps rang out up and down the streets, the source coming from an alleyway that was nearby. From the darkness stepped... Seifer? By all accounts the male before them looked exactly identical, save blue eyes and slightly shorter hair. His eyes though, they looked dead... Dark. Alone. With his hand tucked into his pocket, the Seifer look alike swept his gaze across the street, and upon Tsubasa and Yukino. "So this is where it was coming from." his voice was cold, heartless sounding. With his gaze still on the pair, the man walked out into the middle of the street, his hand coming out of his pocket. "Tell me, why can I smell my enemy's energy on you?" the question was... Odd to say the least, but was directed at both Tsubasa and Yukino. Slowly, almost agonizingly so, the male before them started taking steps towards them. "Maybe I should just eliminate the both of you right here instead. Would save me the trouble later." with this, the pressure the male gave off started becoming almost suffocating.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by Best Girl Thu Nov 12, 2015 10:31 pm

"You're weak."

Ignoring the taunting, Yugure fought against the deranged Tsubasa who wanted to want a solitary path. Gancelot didn't want him to walk down the same horrible route he went, so there was a personal sake for his friend. Along with Ezel, the Liberators charged quickly. An early critical, Exerado hitting, and Blaster Blade with Balan striking. The strain between Tsubasa's heart and his clouded mind was obvious, as they kept trying to do something after Gancelot Zenith and Mordred stared each other down. He couldn't do what it was, so he break rode instead.

The Chosen Sword's next turn came. The Gold Paladin clan was suddenly begging her not to attempt Stride. They knew her body could barely handle such a beast of transcendence, but she didn't care. Her life was worth nothing if it could not save the people in front of her.

'You're weak."

Supremacy Black Dragon, Aurageyser Dragon appeared. A G Unit belonging to Shadow Paladin that Yunos himself couldn't understand. How did this creature exist in any future? The sheer power of its presence was already killing its user, forcing blood out of her mouth. The unit's skill activated on its own, having the dragon knight centaur stomp on Napgal and Balan to retire. Two cards were revealed, both grade zero. For this, the demon gained even more power, towering at 46000. Had a Critical came, Tsubasa would've lost then. No, Aurageyser would've even stomped on him too.

Thankfully, it vanished.

The girl, however, was in an awful state. Her whole world was on fire, and it was hard to not see only blurs.

She was weak.

Yugure kept telling Tsubasa to continue holding himself back to give her an opening, to prevent his berserk self from Striding. He managed to succeed, but then Crossbreakrode Dragruler Phantom. The "ally" she looked at with disgust. It was standing at a tall power height, and Blaster Dark called by Mordred made matters look even worse. Still, she wasn't giving in to fear of being hit by them. It was fear of not being able to save Tsubasa.

"You're weak."

Yugure didn't bother to retort the voice of what was likely Aurageyser.

Tsubasa held off his berserk self from even attacking. She took her turn, but the dragon centaur told her to move aside. The transcendence was forced, causing even more pain to reverberate throughout the girl's body. Still... she... accepted it. Gritting her teeth, the woman endured it just because it was the power she needed. Armed with Blaster Blade, she wound up attacking first in a blind flurry to deal the sixth damage. ... Not knowing Aurageyser would retire her next when his attack came.

It was up against Crossride numbers. Was there even a way to take it down without Aurageyser?

There was.

Tsubasa didn't let himself guard.

"You will regret this." The black dragon warned, leaving as the fight ended.

Yugure knew... what he said about her was right. She was weak, and couldn't do much about it except survive and see humanity's will brought to fruition. That was a soldier's duty, and that was a friend's duty to do it for her other companions.

"I'm... fine... I'm not acting tough... I think... But thank you."

"She is strong", Alfred spoke. "No weak person could act as a tool or humanity's token for so long, and keep the resolve to do so just to see everyone live. Even if it is not healthy... it's admirable. How she fights on with self-loathing... The poor girl can't ever forgive herself for any shortcomings, and still marches forward to do what she can..."

"... Alfred?" Ezel questioned what his point was.

"I need to go find resolve like that myself. As this war has gone on, I feel I've done next to nothing. No... I feel I cannot do anything. She thought the same after seeing the invasion, yet, still fought back. Yugure felt she could do nothing, and still fought right alongside Tsubasa thinking this.

As a king, I have failed you. I believed I couldn't do anything, and did nothing by sitting here giving commands and praying for your safety.

I did not try to search out the Messiah to learn unlock as Ezel did. I did not try to overcome my shortcomings and believe my own preaching of bravery and justice as Gancelot did..."

"Your majesty, you-" Ahmes was cut off.

"Do not bother. I have accepted my grave mistake, and lives have been lost due to my hesitation and anxiety. However, that will be no more. I must... go off to do something very important to change myself. ... And I wish to do that with her and you, Ahmes."

Yugure couldn't believe what she heard him say. Walking with Tsubasa's aid, she could only begin to wonder what the king had in mind.

"We're not... losing anyone else." The Chosen Sword said to Gold Paladin's returned vanguard.

The injured commander saw someone come out and inquired about the "energy" he "smells". ... Wait, who was this person?

"Seifer...?"

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by BluishOver Thu Nov 12, 2015 11:02 pm

Hearing the King give his speech put a slight smile on Tsubasa's face, It restored hope in him that there is still a chance to save this war without the path of solitude, now that the King understands that as well. Hopefully Yukino does as well, that dragon seems to have done more than just physical injury.

"..Then please stop trying to do everything on your own, you're not alone in the end-" his words were interrupted by a figure approaching them.

The figure looked somewhat like Seifer, though something was odd, he spoke nothing like the real Seifer, he threatened to eliminate them, his bloodthirst was clear in his tone. Tsubasa remembered his meeting with the different dimension Noel and also the fact that a Seifer look-alike emerged from the gate the day those 'other dimension' individuals appeared.

"...He's not Seifer...he can't be...the real Seifer would not threaten his comrades like that..." he said, staring at the figure who was threatening them.

Tsubasa set Yukino down on a nearby bench for her to recover a bit, she was in no condition to face this person, especially if he is the other dimension Seifer.

"You're enemy's energy is not in us at all....<...what is he sensing exactly?...>...but if you try to harm either of us then I will personally take you down...<..can I really do this...>...I have to..for everyone..and Yukino." said Tsubasa, his body still recovering from the outburst he went through, though it was a blessing that he did not exert it that far during the cardfight.

Tsubasa's Liberator deck began to glow a faint blue, as his aura started to take the dark blue color slightly.

"...What's happening.." he thought.

"You're close..."

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Real? What even was real. As far as anything was concerned, everything was real.

"He and I are the same. He's just... Luckier." this comment would potentially ring in their heads for a long time to come. "You're nothing like him. Ezel, appear now... Join your blade with my desires." during the fight, the male attempted to confuse, or even make Tsubasa submit... And the mastery over Ezel was apparent. As the Lion appeared, he glanced first at Yukino, then Tsubasa, standing at the Seeds side. It was clear this invader had a deep bond with the Lion, much akin to their own. But even the Lion seemed like he was dead, like there wasn't anything left for them to live for. The fight that the two males held was akin to that of siblings fighting, so it seemed. The male seemed almost reluctant to attack several times... But after Tsbuasa showed off his own stride... It was no longer an option. Though the game seemed uneven, in Tsubasa's favor, the invader chose to remain silent, impassive. Almost judging the other Gold Paladin user. Even with the lack of triggers and the damage difference, the Gilded Lion continued to fight back until, after both fighters had exhausted their stride use, and seemed like they were at their end... "Ezel, Transcend your limits. Silence this child. He... ...Irritates me." nodding in response, the Salvation Lion's limit break became active. With an extra critical and over thirty-thousand power Tsubasa wasn't able to guard. The blade of the lion pierced Gancelot Zenith's armor, piercing through the elf's body. While the strike was aimed at his Vanguard, Tsubasa would be affected as well. He wouldn't die, probably... But the pain would be apparent.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by Best Girl Fri Nov 13, 2015 1:05 am

Yugure could barely focus on the situation at hand with what seemed to be the parallel of Seifer. Tsubasa sat her down on a bench, and she spent what felt like an eternity trying to get all of her senses back. Damn girl wouldn't just rest like everyone on both planets wanted her to. "I'll rest when I'm dead" is the kind of mentality the Chosen Sword had. When the fight began, the first thing unblurred vision came upon was Ezel. The lion hero from another timeline. While it caught her off guard, she noticed it was radically different from Tsubasa's and her own Ezel. It looked... close.

Close as in she understood him almost.

Understanding what despair and having nothing left felt like.

Yugure was beginning to notice a "pattern" in these time travelers. Each of them had one definitive factor that made them supreme of their world. However, judging by the info they have from how they acted... these people were more than flawed. They were either despair ridden, or murderous. Queen Yukino and Sakuya were more bloodthirsty with separate intentions of ruling the world and purging evil. This man and the other Noel seemed to be riddled with sadness, as if there was no hope left until coming here.

It was amazing her very ill mind came to a conclusion.

That train of thought vanished when Gancelot Zenith was stabbed by Ezel Scissors. Worst off, that attack went through reality, attacking Tsubasa spiritually as well.

"Gancelot!" Alfred screamed.

"Tsubasa!" The wounded Yugure shouted.

She tried to get up, but immediately fell on the ground due to having no strength in her body. Even so, the tenacious soldier grunted, beginning to crawl toward her friend. It mirrored Alfred rushing forward on Cray to check on the elven knight, praying to every Guardian Dragon in the Sanctuary they were both alive.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by BluishOver Fri Nov 13, 2015 2:28 am

"He's just luckier..."

The meaning behind this was soon understood by Tsubasa as the fight went on and the despair in the fighter's eyes and their units would become more apparent. Something was definitely odd, how could this person come into the possession of Ezel, Seifer in this dimension never showed such prowess with the golden warriors, just what kind of distorted universe are these 'people' from?

"Liberate the souls of our comrades, and descend in the hidden power, transcend in flames the true glory, Generation Stride! Bluish Flame True Liberator, Holy Flame!" declared Tsubasa, as he unleashed his newly obtained stride, the power that he almost grabbed with Brennius that day in Psy Shophas fully manifested itself in Stride form.

However the fight ended up taking a strange turn...Holy Flame did keep Tsubasa in the game with multiple superior calls and power ups but for some reason Tsubasa never got a hold of perfect guards or enough shields, even striking the 6th damage proved futile as the look-alike revealed a heal trigger, prompting the newly evolved Ezel Scissors to end the game with a Limit Break. The loss was bad enough...but the strike felt even worse...literally..

As Ezel strike pierced Gancelot, Tsubasa instinctively grabbed the Zenith card as he was flung a few centimeters back landing on his back and giving a gasp of pain. As Yukino tried to go to his aid, the pierced fighter tried to signal her to not push herself, as she was unable to walk. Tsubasa almost fell unconscious at that point the strike felt like a real blade pierced his body, though there was no visible blood, in truth his soul was bleeding, the blade just giving it a more direct form.

"...This pain...it won't go away..." he said, as his aura was slowly turning to black once again. "..No not again...I can't let this happen all over again!"

Just then a figure of light descended in his imagination and placed her hand on his chest and on the zenith card where the pain was felt the most.

"..Who...are you?" he asked.
"Shhh try to calm down my dear." said the figure.
"...Neu...is that you?" he said, though in front of others it looked like he was staring into space as he slowly became surrounded by his black aura. "I don't wanna lose control again...what is happening to me?"
"When you regained your ezel deck, I had left all my remaining power within it, unfortunately Neon Messiah's message did not reach you quickly enough before the reverse fighters can attempt to take the deck and destroy Ezel, so I had to use most of that power to protect the deck from anyone but you...but because I put my power in it..that also included my memories...now you've seen everything, the surge of power that entered your body was too much for you to handle so it only based itself from your emotions...or something like that." she said
"....Exactly...how much power did you put in me.." he asked
"..Not a lot...in order to keep the deck safe my power was being wasted, so if anything you got a very low amount, yet it was still a lot for a regular person." she said, as she began to fade away.
"Don't go please..without your light to keep pure i'll lose control again..." he said.
"...Unfortunately..that's not possible...but I believe in you...you've done so much for me and for this world, I know you can handle it, just calm down, relax, let your feelings rest...and don't worry I will always be here with you..." she said, as she completely faded away.
"...I see...so that's why I could not release all of Holy Flame's power...I was not ready...out of control...-breathes-...forgive me...my comrades..Liberators..-deck glows-...Revengers...-deck glows-...and Ezel...-deck glows-..." he said, as his aura slowly changed from black do dark blue and the pain slowly dissapated, stil leaving it's mark but thankfully Tsubasa's Aura was slowly healing Gancelot and himself, nevertheless only one thing would fully heal them...defeating this person.

Pulling himself together Tsubasa stood up..severely tired and out of breath but still standing..he still had to help Yukino back to the Jet and he could not allow this man to harm anymore people...it was already clear now...who was responsible for the dead corpses here. His Aura blazed blue and his units lent him their hands.

"We are here for you-"
"Our-"
"Vanguard."

"...You...won't...harm...anymore..people..." was said in unison, as Tsubasa rose with the help of his comrades, Ahmes, Yunos and Ezel, gripping his chest and struggling to stand, if not for his will to not allow anyone else to get hurt and the obvious help from his units, he would be unconscious right now. At the same time Tsubasa walked over to Yukino and with the help of his units helped her rise to her feet as they both stood with their avatars facing the person in front of them.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Everything that was happening was... Well, within expectations. Save for Tsubasa and Gancelot being healed, but still within expectations. Ezel, the one that came with this... Person, removed the blade from Gancelot and returned to the invader's side, not disappearing. Actually the fact that he hadn't left yet was quite odd. "I find it hard that either of you could really try to stop me in your conditions." a sigh escaped his lips. "I thought maybe coming here would really help me achieve what I wanted. And maybe there's still hope. And while I expected there to be people who looked like me... Like us..." the way he spoke didn't seem to point towards the other invaders. "I didn't expect to get to see them again in you all. ...Really... You're all so lucky. It makes me envious." the alternate Ezel placed a hand on the male's shoulder but he didn't seem to really stop. "You should all count your blessings. Whatever petty little problems you have... There are others who have worse. ...And the me of this world..." he stopped. Why was someone like him speaking like this? He seemed both curious and caring... But also envious and angry. "What's he like." he asked, staring at the pair.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by Best Girl Fri Nov 13, 2015 3:25 am

Yugure couldn't find the strength to get up and walk, which is part of why Tsubasa warned her to stay back. Honestly, the stubborn soldier didn't care. If she could still move, that would be all she needed. Not resting, not listening to warning when at her limits, not ceasing forward movement even against despair - that's what made her different from the timelines that seemed to have fallen apart and the people of this timeline.

The Chosen Sword was a miserable girl, and never did she lay down in defeat after returning.

Clenching her teeth, she continued crawling. Seeing Tsubasa miraculously stand and get healed wasn't something she didn't expect. No, it was a natural result. That's why she didn't stop moving. The avatar trio appeared to help him rise, and they all with Tsubasa came over to the girl. Each of them assisted in helping her back on feet.

Unlike Queen Yukino or Sakuya, this person was jealous of their time. Naturally so, if his left him and the alternative Ezel with grief and sorrow.

"Our problems... aren't petty..." She began in response. "The you of this world... is naturally reckless like me... He's kind of... straightforward... and usually knows his drive and way... Even if he lost it at some point..."

Her spiritual younger brother came into the fight solely to protect Rosalia and his sister. The world itself more than likely came second. Even so, the boy took some... dangerous steps after she got to know him better. Hell, he let himself get stabbed by Blaster Dark. Even so, after Rosalia disappeared, and he forgot what he was fighting for... Yugure knew he didn't simply stop after she told him.

He'll find motive if he hasn't already.

So long as he keeps moving.

New York - Times Square Empty Re: New York - Times Square

Post by Cipher Fri Nov 13, 2015 3:49 am

"So then you think highly of him." That was what the figure before them asked of the ivory haired woman, his and his Ezel's eyes seemingly boring into her. "Then let me ask this. What would happen if you saw him, tortured... Constantly pleading... Crying in agony. Begging you to help, and all you can do is stand there and watch as his life is drained from him. Or turned into the enemy in the same manner? Someone who leaned upon you for support, admired you..." the invader's eyes went down to the ground for a moment before coming back up. "In my time, everyone I ever cared about were tortured... Killed right before my eyes. ...All because of my arrogance. My lust for destroying the invaders. First came my comrades. ...In my time, I was a Royal Paladin. Not Ahmes, as... You seem to be." he shut his eyes. "My comrades... My clan, they were taken from me, tortured and turned before my eyes... Then locked away. How I managed to escape reverse... I'll never know." opening his eyes again, his stared bored straight into Yukino, almost as if he were peering into her soul.

"After losing my clan, the Joker came for me, having savored every moment he could of my despair, he decided it was time to win me over. And yet... My best friend, the person who entrusted me with this deck came to my aid... Only to be eviscerated by the Joker. With his dying breath, Ezel passed to me." a pause, looking up at the figure at his side. "I didn't know how to use Gold Paladin... As I struggled to gain some modicum of ability, the people around me left and right died. Killed by my enemy. ...There weren't many of us left to begin with... And you..." his gaze turned back to the woman. "The you of my time lead the resistance against them. ...And yet it wasn't enough. Both of my sisters... Taken from me. Their corpses displayed upon wires, like some kind of trophy, for all to see." the invader's Ezel glanced down at the male who seemed rather tiny in comparison. "Leading them came to me. I wasn't ready. I was foolish, overcome with grief. Losing everyone, everyone taken away from me. Having their lives stolen before my very eyes... And I was still to weak to accomplish anything."

Taking a breath, and shaking his head, the male continued his speech a moment later. "Soon, there was only myself left. All of my friends, family... Corpses... Ghosts, haunting me for my failures. ...That drove me to what I am now. A murderer. A monster. ...For all the pain they gave me, I gave back." a twisted grin came over his face for a moment before fading rather quickly, a neutral look now. "Limb from limb I tore them apart, slowly... Exacting every ounce of anguish I had... Savoring their screams... ...Maybe it was that sin of mine that caused my world to remain lost. ...I'm the only non-reverse left."

Post by BluishOver Fri Nov 13, 2015 4:49 pm

"...I see now....there was no mistaking it..this person is responsible for the massacre that is apparent here." he thought, still being helped by his comrades.

Tsubasa may have appeared to be healed but in reality if he was not being helped he would have just fainted, of course the situation in front of them calls for a focused mind to an extent. What struck Tsubasa as strange was this friend this person spoke of, there was really no way to know who it is, since in each dimension there is a specific case, like the dimension he visited where his father was the only one who survived that night. Why would he not reveal this person though...

"...For a long time I thought about that day in my past when my whole life was ruined over a stupid accident...looking back I stood there and watched...as my family...those closest to my soul...burned in front of me..." he said, a tear appearing in one of his eyes.

"...Looking back..if not for a certain friend..I would have jumped in that flame to save them...even though I was helpless and young I would have thrown my life...for their sake..." he said, wiping the tear in his eyes, showing weakness to an enemy was not part of Tsubasa's agenda...but this person...Tsubasa could somewhat relate to his suffering, that and the resemblance to his friend really hit hard.

"My friends helped me escape the despair that I felt for so long that day...............now I see....so that's why...you think that Seifer is luckier..." he said, his eyes widening slightly and returning to normal in an instant after the realization.

Most of the puzzle was clear now but sadly not everything. It was now a matter of what would happen next.

"..It really has to do with how you take it...I lost myself to power in this circumstance once..but...she helped me...unfortunately you were not so...lucky...even though this friend entrusted his feelings to you...through those cards...every strike that hit me I felt it..." he said, he did really feel something warm rather than cold hearted in each strike, despair was evident, but so was...friendship. "..Regardless of my state...I will face you again...if it means stopping this path that you are in..." he said, feeling more tired and dizzy by the minute.

...

Yugure was finally understanding these time travelers. ... Along with understanding why she hated them in full. This man shared an experience... similar to her own almost. He was basically the sole survivor of his timeline with Ezel as the only one for Cray.

"Tsubasa..." She wheezed after her friend finished speaking.

"We need to leave... He'll kill us both if we try something again... There's nothing left here as it stands..."

Hearing the request from his tire friend Tsubasa mustered every last bit of strength that he had left in him, for one last move, he did not believe that he could go through this person or just walk past him without being stabbed or taken down in some form. Slowly he channeled all his remaining ability and made a leap from building to building almost tripping as he jumped but ahmes and the others would help make up for his fatigue based faults. The two finally arrived on a rooftop where they would have a chance to get a move on without coming into direct contact with this person.

"You think you'll be okay, I can do the jumping-ah for the most part.." he said, grasping his ankle.

"Try to hang on I'll get you the help you need, Can we send a message to the jet to come pick us up just to make it easier?" he asked, showing concern for his friend.

Sending the signal to the jet, Tsubasa was astounded at how it arrived at their location with great speed, almost instantly. At that moment Tsubasa carried Yukino and jumped into the plan and asked the pilot to step on it, restating the importance of getting help for Yukino.

Post by NoelKusanagi Fri Nov 13, 2015 10:33 pm

The future Noel watched everything unfold, seeing how the city was deemed by her as lost, she opted in not getting in the middle of anything. "There is no point in interfering now, this city has fallen and nothing can be done... father, your words are even more clear. Weakness is a sin, and the people of this city were weak to allow themselves to be thrown in chaos and despair. Saving and protecting the other cities are worth more than rescuing this one. May their sacrifice save mankind from this tragedy."

Noel had decided to leave this city to its destruction and for the murderous version of Seifer to finish off any survivors that his killing intent would enjoy in doing. A fallen city is of no worth to humanity and saving it would mean wasting precious time protecting one that hasn't faced it's end. Survival of the fittest, and the city of New York failed. Now she set her sights back to Japan, black wings similar to Phantom Blaster Dragon appeared on her back, eye glowing a stronger and sadder red as she took flight and leaves New York alone with a murderer.
