Beach 1526871-bigthumbnail
A good place for fun under the sun.

Field Status
There's a beach volleyball game going on.
The waves are crashing along the shore, a relatively fair size.
Nice boat.

Beach Empty Re: Beach

Post by Jello Sun Nov 01, 2015 11:00 am

That dimension ordeal ended quickly. At least, the one that Haruka and Sera had ventured into with Tsubasa, Cero and some others. His mind was mostly blank for that experience, but it was nice knowing that it had been dealt with regardless. Haruka was patiently anticipating the return of the others from Hawaii. Primarily, Yukino and Seifer.

Haruka stood at the beach today. His toes dug into the sand, letting the waves hit the shore, seafoam lightly grazing his ankles before returning to its home in the sea.

Crouching down, Haruka gently ran the tips of his fingers in the water, staring up at the sky again. His little home away from home (that he is actually unable to reach because he's a human and doesn't like planes.) The clouds were peacefully settling around, but it was a majorly blue sky.

It was chilly today, but warmer than it had been recently. Before today, it had been a near winter wonderland, almost snowing a few times. Today was like spring weather. Somewhat windy, a little cold, but the flowers didn't look dead and you could still sport a hoodie or even a long sleeve shirt and be fine. Haruka just wore a T-shirt and rolled up slacks. He was used to the crazy heat that Overlord gave off so the cold stopped bothering him awhile ago. In fact, the last the last time it hit him was back at the tournament, the first time Overlord disappeared from his life.

Strange and awful, memories.

He reminisced at the beach. Sera remained quiet. It was a silent morning.

The trip in Hawaii was somewhat eventuful, Haruto understood as much as he could but most of the time he could not figure out the reason behind the actions of certain individuals, they did seem familiar though...like he had seen that behavior before...

For now Haruto chose to take a slight break, the young 16 yr old chose to go somewhere to clear his mind slightly, at least the weather was shifting from cold to warmer slightly, he had been interested in going to the beach with his brother. However, since Tsubasa was not 'available' at the moment, he decided to check the place out first.

"Much more peaceful than I anticipated...gosh when was the last time i've been to a beach" he thought as he walked along the beach shore.

The beach seemed almost empty there were only a few people sleeping in their stations, however, there was one person who was standing closer to the shore, he appeared to be enjoying some peace and quiet. It was unclear but Haruto decided to go engage this person in a conversation, he did not seem strange or anything, plus he had to make some friends if he's going to live in this area with his brother.

"Hi there, what brings you to the beach this early?" he asked the stranger, smiling as he stood next to him, it was clear that not many people come to the beach at this time of day, so aside from a conversation starter, this was just Haruto curiosity doing it's thing.

Hah... Wait. What's that?

It's a person, Sera. You know... People.

Sorry. I'm just waking up still.

"Hm? Hi there." Haruka waved with a rather nonchalant expression, going from his crouched position to a standing form. Dusting off his pant leg, he craned his neck and looked down to see the boy. He wasn't all that much younger than Haruka, maybe a few years at most. But he had an innocent aura simply radiating from him.

"Me? I'm here waiting for some friends of mine. Not that they know I'm here... Hm.. I don't know really. I've just been feeling a bit more, er, attached to the ocean I guess?"

Haruka scratched his chin nervously. It was a strange answer, but it was legitimate enough. He wasn't lying or anything.

"I could ask you the same thing." Haruka crossed his arms, expecting to know why he was here too.

"Attached to the ocean..."

That reply seemed odd to Haruto at first, but based on the stranger's expression it appeared...genuine. How could one feel connected to something like the ocean he thought...but then again what he felt connected to was even weirder.

"Oh, that's cool, you know I always thought that the ocean has no end or no limits, something everlasting...hehe though I feel connected to something else..something..more bright I suppose.." said the young man, looking up at the sky.

This reply however was even stranger on his part, but it was cool to find someone who felt connected to something as vast as the ocean, it says a lot.

"Oh you're waiting on some friends that's cool. Me? Oh i'm just checking out the beach, I plan to come here with my brother sometime, but he's usually busy so I decided to come and explore so that I can be his guide, but then again I'm new to this town so it'll be strange haha." he said lowering his head, re-establishing eye contact, placing his hand behind his head and laughing.

This was beyond innocence. The guy must have been really attached to his brother through familial bonds. His brother... Haruka never actually had siblings and it took awhile to sink in that everyone seemed to have family they were looking after or people to keep an eye on. Haruka had something akin to that with his distant relatives but his only actual family sort of vanished with the fire.

His nonchalant expression turned to a warm smile. He nodded.

"Mmm!" Looking at the sky, where the boy had pointed, Haruka found solace there. It was a beautiful, wide array of blue going farther than even the eye can see. The idea that existence was this expansive and then some was ludicrous to anyone, but Haruka had been to those far places. Crossing dimensional borders. He was no stranger to otherworldly experiences.

Pocketing his hands, he turned his attention back to the waves. They crashed and quieted before receding and repeating. The ebb and flow of the water was calming but it was also wondrous, it was marvelous.

It filled Haruka with determination. A slight grin rose from his smile.

"Connected to the ocean. Something like that." His head turned back to the boy. Oh, where were his manners!

"By the way, I'm Haruka. Haruka Nakahara. Nice to meet ya." He outstretched his arm to the boy, hand for a shake. The usual greeting. It never changed. But it was a timeless little greeting. Handshake with a smile.

"I wonder if I will get to see that light again..." was the thought that flickered within Haruto's mind as he stared at the sky once again.

Though he could not help but notice the slight change in expression at the mention of his brother, it was not clear but relatives always were an interesting topic for each person. Nevertheless Haruto felt comfortable with this person, not many people give off a friendly and calming aura in the first meet.

At the gesture of greeting Haruto smiled and shaked Haruka's hand, "Pleasure is all mine Haruka, name's Haruto, Haruto Hayato." He did not realize that he copied his brother's way of saying his name but then again he was used to saying it like that.

"Ha-ya-to... Hmm..."

Ding. The lightbulb in Haruka's head went off when the name matched with the face. They even shared semi-similar faces. The fact it took him this long to realize it was Tsubasa's brother made Sera cringe a bit. Another cringe-worthy thing that Sera saw but Haruka didn't, was that Haruto had actually been pointing at the bright thing in the sky, not the actual sky.

Haruka finally picked up that the sun was what the boy had pointed out. He looked up, only to be nearly immediately blinded.

You... You probably shouldn't stare directly at the sun, you dolt.

Meh.

"So, Haruto, you must be Tsubasa's younger brother. I'm a friend of his. Er, sort of. We talk a bit. If you ever catch up to him, make sure you tell him hi for me?" Haruka smiled, straightening his back out. He stared back out over the waves, breathing in time with sound of the sea.

"Hey Haruto, have you met any of the locals around here? Some of Tsubasa's friends maybe?" Haruka put his hands behind his head, netting them.

After the two let go of their handshake Haruto was more than surprised by what came out of Haruka's mouth afterwards. It turned out that he was a friend of his brother, which immediately brought a large smile on Haruto's face.

"OH, you know my brother, that's amazing I'm really glad I got to meet another one of his friends, and don't worry I'll let him know you said hi." he said, unable to contain the smile on his face.

"Gee...I wonder what he mean't by sort of his friend..well it does not matter right now, he seems like a cool person." thought Haruto.

Upon Haruka's question Haruto replied, "I've met a few of them, see I went to a trip in Hawaii with a bunch of Aniki's friends...hmmm let's see, Seifer, Yukino, Rose, Noel, Darren and Xat those were the few that stood out for me on that trip, they were nice to be around, though I wish I got to know them better."

"I still hope to meet more people though, if I'm going to live here I need to make the most out of it you know?" he said, pocketing his hands.

"So you've met a lot of people already? That's nice. You must think really highly of your brother if you're so willing to go and meet his friends..."

Wait. He was. In.

"... You went to Hawaii too, huh?" Haruka was genuinely much less surprised than he usually would be. In fact, he seemed solemn, and generally calm. His entirely skittish and airheaded nature started to fade away with the weather. The breeze of the morning transferred into a slow calm of the afternoon. The clouds overhead were also dissipating, leaving only the sun to shine down on the beach. The sand warmed up.

Haruka looked at Haruto, leaning towards him slightly. Now Haruka was radiating a warmth, but it wasn't a fire. It was like a calming sensation. Something parents give to their young, or the attitude you share to those who were hurt in the past but you only want to help. This was neither of those situations.

"Not everyone is a good person. And sometimes I'm not that great of a person either."

Haruka clasped his hand on Haruto's shoulder, maintaining eye-contact.

"One day I might not be such a great guy. You have to understand that things will change. Everything changes and sometimes its too fast for you to catch up."

Haruka pointed out towards the sea, just as a gust of wind began to blow in that direction. Their hair rustled in the beginning of the gale.

"Even the patterns of the waves change. So be ready, okay? Until then, make friends, develop bonds. Those are your comrades. Your mates, so to speak."

Haruka released his slight grip, sighing out some relief. Haruka's smile became a nonchalant sleepy expression. He stretched, walking up the sand dune, taking a seat and resuming his sea-watching.

That was... unlike you.

I'm not very like me, as of today. If you haven't noticed.

Fair enough.

"Aniki is all I have, he may seem strange sometimes or maybe too reserved but he was not like that when he was younger, ever since...that incident...he changed a lot, for my sake, but I noticed that he was gradually returning to his old-self ever since he came here.." replied Haruto, before Haruka began telling him something...interesting.

After Haruka's words were absorbed by Haruto the young man's face changed from extremely happy to something along the lines of neutral, as he processed all that Haruka was telling him.

"I see..." said Haruto. "Well you're right, change could happen out of nowhere and we may not be ready for it, but at the same time, we have a choice to make on what kind of people we choose to be, just like how you have a choice as well Haruka, but don't worry i'm sure you won't be alone as well if something like that happens." he said, his back facing Haruka, but his voice showing a hint of seriousness.

Turning around he smiled, "I should be going now, I'll take a quick look around then I'll be off, you should come visit us sometime, Aniki just got us a house -insert address-, visitors are always welcome, anyway see you later Haruka, it was nice meeting you." he said, as he waved goodbye and left.

"We all have a choice..." he thought.

Post by Best Girl Fri Nov 06, 2015 2:34 am

Cyan ran to the beach and wasn't really sure how or why she ended up here. In fact, it was in a different place than it should've been compared to her world. "Aaaah..." a soft cry of relief came out from the girl. The woman was unsure of what to do now. These people could Stride, meaning the advantage the time travelers had is going to be gone. "Oh noooo..." She cried out again. As comical or cute her whining might've been to others, Cyan was genuinely upset by this. If she didn't have the power to be over the people of this timeline, what could they do? Rely on raw skill? Raw skill couldn't kill a reaper, and it couldn't stop the Star-vaders either. A deep sigh, following by cozily retreating further behind her sweater collar was the action taken.

That Fubuki girl was nice, making this even worse. Cyan had to do something to save her own people, and there was no peaceful way to go about it. But that person believed in another way... and used Tetra Drive...

Silence.

An upset mewl.

Maelstrom's original form was held up in front of the moonlight. A sort of quiet prayer, asking for guidance again from her dead mentor.

Finally back at the beach, Satoshi had gotten used to Cyan on his shoulders. She really wasn't that heavy at all, and it was nice that someone was actually willing to spend some time with him, even if it was likely to not end well at all when it came right down to it. If what Queen Yukino had told him aligned with this girl at all, his timeline was at risk in a similar fashion.

Meditation had made Satoshi want to find another way, even with the knowledge that things would likely end up the same. It was worth a shot, and it at least helped him understand what was going on with other people.

Cyan went about this oddly. Along the way, she tended to point out a bunch of sights that were probably normal things for average residents here. It was just surprising to her how this timeline made use of the space for a mall on water, among other things such as grandiose snack stands, and even new aged technology filled arcades. The last time she went to an arcade, she actually blew out her entire wallet. Video games are crazy man.

She also picked at his hair for some reason.

Like a monkey.

They eventually got to the beach, and she got down, thanking him. "Are you okay though?" The girl asked, concerned for his back.

"I'm alright, I think---" CRACK. Leaning back for a second, Satoshi's back caught up with him. Lifting things onto him had been something he used to do about a year and a half ago, so seeing as it had been a while, it was bound to happen that he had become unused to this feeling. He fell over for a second, as if he was an old man.

"Sort of..." He would probably be fine, though this would likely worry her.

She wasn't really that heavy, was she?! That loud crack was incredibly alarming. The pale ghost-girl panicked and whined, concerned for the well being of her new pal. Oh no, this was her fault if he couldn't walk properly again. She is too heavy... she has to lay off the sweets...

Satoshi managed to push himself up into a sitting position, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, don't worry about it. S'been a while since I did any sort of real liftin'. Not that you're heavy. It's all in the stance and I forgot about it. No worries."

He looked up at her and gave a slight smile, patting the sand next to him. "Have a seat. The beach's fine." This would be a good opportunity, if any, to start getting some more details about the timeline Cyan was from. Especially since she seemed so excited about random things on their way over.

"O-Oh..."

Cyan was honestly just glad his back wasn't broken. Never mind technique or anything of the sort. As long as he could still walk normally, her heart would be at ease. ... Well, that, and if there were no future spine issues because of her. Maybe she shouldn't have made that literal jump back at the mall, maybe she shouldn't have gotten on his back... The pale girl's expression was still panicking, and slowly easing into doubt.

"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaangh..."

A deep, deep sigh was given, not even hearing or seeing his notions to sit down on the sand.

Satoshi noticed that this whole thing was causing her stress. "Hey, hey, it's fine, I swear. Don't worry about it." He decided the better solution would be to stand up to show he was fine. Pushing off the stand, his spine snapped back into place, which hurt a little admittedly, but he was fine.

Petting her head again, he sighed. "Though, if something's really bothering you...I know we've just met, but you can tell me. I swear I won't say a word."

"It's not you keeping it a secret that's the problem..."

Well, the fact that she was going to drain all life from this timeline getting released to the public might cause some issues. Can't be nearly as bad as Queen Yukino's unholy conquest or Sakuya's divine purging. As far as the time travelers went, those two nutcases were probably the worst. ... Thought the pale ghost girl spending her time enjoying snacks and the beach instead of getting to work.

"You... don't have to worry about it."

It's best if he never knew what she was up to. Not until she had to kill him like everyone else.

For the sake of himself in her time.

Satoshi sighed. Well, he tried.

"S'what Queen Yukino explained. That she---and I'm gusesing others---are here to wipe everything out for the sake of taking over. As though we're not people that are managing ourselves well enough." He held up his marked hand for Cyan to see. "All because of stuff like this happenin'."

He stared off in the direction of the ocean. "I dunno what to think or do, really. I can't say I'm a huge fan of people just tearin' everything down like it's going to change anything about their world. Because you can act like you're doin' a bunch of people a huge favor, but in the end, you just traded lives for...well, pretty much nothin' at all." He blinked. "No matter how much you could say you're gettin' back for it...it isn't gonna make anything better because it's tit for tat."

Satoshi sighed again. "Maybe that's what people think the world is like, but when people are simply mortal...why hang on to somethin' that isn't permanent?" He turned back to Cyan. "It's somethin' I learned meditatin'. If you really want to love others, you can't let 'em...well, root you. Because if you get too overly invested in somethin', you're gonna get hurt." He shook his head. "And that's basically what I've been tellin' myself for years, but didn't know how to express it. Everyone around me started sufferin' because they couldn't find a way to just let go and find a way to love each other as friends in a way that isn't so...rooted, I guess."

He stared at his marking again, biting his lip. "So stuff like this happens, and it sucks."

"... Are you serious?"

Cyan, one of the few times in her life, felt absolutely livid. "Do you know..." Her voice was shaky, she was visibly trembling. Flashbacks of the reapers flooding in, killing everyone in sight, including her master, and Tetra Drive Dragon simply being wiped from existence. "Do you know what it's like to see everything die in front of you, and then know there is literally no hope of an entire planet healing?"

It wasn't his fault. He didn't know how these "Seeds" were from doomed timelines. Worlds without hope for a future, places destined to end. He especially didn't know Cyan's situation. Still, hearing such made her breathe uneasily. If she let go of the hope of her timeline being restored - of people in it coming back to life, what was life? Staying in this timeline? Remembering that she was powerless to save what died because of her?

"It's not trading lives for nothing!" The pale ghost girl shouted. "We're mortal, but to be slaughtered... then knowing your entire planet Earth is simply going to die because of... because of..."

The Reapers were basically unspeakable horrors.

"... them." Was all that could be muttered.

"You don't have to worry about it... Your timeline is still the prime timeline... It's safe... and it's unfair. Because you're not wrong in thinking that. From your point of view, you're right on people being better off not keeping themselves down on one thing... but..."

Good food, both planets still intact, happy people, and hope to stop the invasion without one specific person getting power beyond anyone else's control... A world without menaces like Queen Yukino, or black and white justice killers like Sakuya, or people who slaughtered Link Joker after losing everything like Noel and Seyer...

"It's not fair..." Cyan cried. "It's not fair how your world gets to have hope... and think like that... and be right..."

Strange that it took talking specifically about that to actually get Cyan to say what he wanted to hear out of her. So she was from a different timeline. A timeline that was basically doomed. But if that timeline was doomed...

Satoshi looked into her eyes. "If where you're from is decidedly doomed, how does doing that to this world improve anything?" He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I can see the incredible amount of pain you've been feeling from all of this. I can't say that I've felt that level exactly. I've felt true loss, if only for a fleeting moment, because I lost my dearest friend, but for my entire existence to be doomed is different. But even so..."

He shook his head. "You've seen what it's like here. Maybe this is your chance to start somethin' new. If you're so sure this world has hope, and so many things you've seen and done have made you happy for just a moment...then doesn't it make sense to wanna try and find that here?" He bit his lip. "I know it's not bringin' anyone back, but I'm telling you that if you're so sure you're doomed, then eliminatin' us isn't going to change anything. From the sounds of it, that might be what all of 'em need to hear, at least the ones that ain't truly killers."

In his mind, Satoshi was still shaking his head. There was a fairly good chance Cyan still wasn't going to listen. Her care for her own world was completely justified, and in a way, she sort of misunderstood what he said. Trading bodies for bodies changed nothing, and that was an irrefutable fact. Even if there was some way that eliminating people here brought people back, if Cyan had started, in any way, feeling some sort of attachment to this world, even in the midst of her sorrows, it would come back to bite her time and time again. Such was the problem with attachment and intimacy in general.

If anything, starting over was the best option that she and many of the other timelines had, in this world they were sure was not doomed. But from the sounds of it, that wasn't going to be the case. At least for most of them. For every one like Cyan, there were going to be ones like Queen Yukino. Those were unforgivable in a way, and they had to deal with them. But people like this pale girl...

His marked hand started to glow again, and a familiar voice echoed through his mind.

"You're starting to realize your higher purpose, partner. Good on you."

"Start over?! It's not that simple to just live in a new world while leaving behind your own! One you could save! One you could change from being doomed!"

The very notion of starting over in this new timeline was ridiculous. All because it meant discarding everything. Her world's only hope was sucking life dry from this one to change their fate and bring back a future of some sort. The people of this timeline didn't even begin to understand the suffering of the words: "You have no future". Despite the ongoing invasion, it doesn't look like the Reapers hit this place. It was easy for this man to try and make peace in an attempt to change her mind, but until he understood, she was never going to listen.

"I don't want to hear any of this!"

Cyan threw hands on her ears, screaming in agony. The despair of even faltering slightly in her mission was suffocating. She's already heinously jealous of this world, and she's already cried over how it isn't even remotely fair. Meanwhile, people like Queen Yukino and Sakuya have barely faltered in the slightest. How could the Aqua Force girl hope to revive her people if all she did was shout and stomp like a brat?

Especially when spoiled brats like Queen Yukino were putting in the effort to succeed. When people like Sakuya did their self-given "duty". When people like Seyer and Noel were still fighting through their sorrow because they had to.

The seas began to stir in response to the powerful emotions of Cyan, acting as a sort of call for her G Unit. Being her guardian, Admiral Maelstrom started to rise from the depths of Cray's oceans in Magallanica. Assuming those around were bringing her harm, the Blue Storm Marshal roared. Its godly, booming voice caused tremors at nearby shores, even on Earth.

"A-Aaaaah..."

She didn't mean to make Maelstrom think she was being attacked or bullied.

Satoshi shook his head. "From everything you said, nothing would change. You can't rewrite the past." The mark on his hand glowed brighter. "If any of us could...do you really think we'd let anyone in our own world suffer?"

Forming behind him was the faint image of a goddess of sorts. It wasn't necessarily determinable who it was or why she was there. The farmboy was still failing to notice the effects his mark was having. He was focused on explaining the nature of this peace to Cyan. There was no way someone could actually be this thick-headed about the notion of peace. Even Yugure wasn't this stubborn.
