Cardfight Training Area - Page 9 Empty Re: Cardfight Training Area

Fubuki was rather confused when the guards at the facility took Haruka away. His girlfriend must be really overprotective. The guards attempted to stop her too, but she explained that she was here to join the resistance and could find her way on her own. Apparently that worked. Seemed like a bit of a security flaw. Probably should report that to the boss whenever she finds them. Fubuki took this opportunity to explore a bit, and spent quite a while just wandering around the facility. It was pretty impressive, in a bad way. Someone had actually spent money on making a super-advanced building based on a game. Not just any game, but a children's card game. It was baffling. This building had living quarters, a restaurant-style cafeteria, a prison wing, a hospital wing, an interrogation roomed that had a wall missing, and a lot of broken windows, on top of all the fancy cardfighting tables. Why would anyone go to such lengths over a game? Had they been expecting Reverse or were they just plain stupid?

Eventually, Fubuki found her way up to the floor the Resistance was headquartered at. Outside of a room, she saw Haruka. Something was off about him. Approaching him, she decided to ask about it. "Hey, why are you looking so defeated, uhh... Ummm..." She forgot his name. Panic. Think of a nickname, quickly! "... Scarfy."

Yugure didn't bother getting a new jacket. She felt better knowing Haruka had her favorite and main one. Yes... her favorite jacket on her favorite boy. Wait, no. The commander shook her head, she needed to focus on killing the Clown. It seemed the researchers were still trying to get an exact read on that damn thing's location. Space distortions made it hard to keep track of either of them. The only reason they could keep on Glendios was Reverse energy concentration instead of anything else.

"... Seifer, I know how much you want to stop Glendios. I know how you feel useless and yearn to do something - anything to change that feeling. ... Even if you have to use that damned Nebula Lord."

Yugure was trying to say something, but she felt she couldn't properly convey it.

"... I would like to tell you a story, if you don't mind listening. One... I haven't shared. It's about how I knew about Link Joker before anyone else."

She thought sharing an experience might get the point across. This one wasn't a pleasant experience, however. One that's riddled with misery and despair... Even so, she's still fighting in earnest. Normally, the Chosen Sword wouldn't bother with speaking of this matter if it wasn't necessary. The last thing she would ever want is to saddle her problems onto someone else - her anguish.

However, she just wanted Seifer to know the situation she's in. And how she went about it. He himself may get an idea from it.

"Oh, it's Kaiyo. Right. Good to see you by the way. Uhm... Scarfy... The name is Haruka, I'm sure I told you..." He shrugged, still a bit too out of it for a real response.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Some stuff happened is all."

Haruka felt a death glare coming on from Yukino any minute if he didn't put her jacket back on though. Complaining you're cold then simply disregarding the answer your girlfriend gave you doesn't fly. Ever. He equipped both jackets and looked up to Kaiyo, speaking semi-softly. Not that he was being secretive, but didn't want to make things awkward by loudly conversing when other important matters were going on as well.

"I see you found your way up here. Good to know you're on the right side."

He smiled, then slumped back against the wall, still somewhat having fatigue from the earlier events. Transpiration of information was tiring for the young Haruka. He shut his eyelids, nodding to the sound of the room and its computer dials.

"Might wanna talk to Yukino... when she's less busy. She's the scary one. Also cute. But scary. Watch out." He smiled jokingly, resting for a bit. Something felt missing, however...

This was somewhat of a surprise to Seifer. He wasn't sure where the sharing was coming from, though... He didn't object to it. "You know you can tell me anything right? Whether it's about the past, the war or whatever." she did touch on him not feeling useful in the slightest, though now that he thought about it, in her own way she could be trying to prepare him? That or protect him. Something, anything was really fine. Actually, he was incredibly curious now so... Nodding he stood by the woman's side, his head tilted at an angle. "Either way, I'm all ears." simple statement, but it was true. She had his full attention at the moment. If what she said helped, then it helped. If not, new information.

"... I should probably tell Haruka this now too... Since I lied to him because of it."

If the woman was to tell this tale, that false statement she gave to her boyfriend awhile back should be rectified. Anyone who she lied to about it, basically. The fake story being that she went to Mount Fuji.

Yugure motioned Seifer to follow, and went a bit a ways down the hall to find Haruka. He didn't go get rest like she wanted, she sees. That or he came back up here after a short nap. Either way it didn't sound healthy.

... Like she was one to talk.

"Haruka? I need to talk to you about something I'm about to share with Seifer as well. I need to apologize for lying- Oh."

He was talking to... another girl.

Her guard was up and sword summoning was at the ready.

"This is?"

Fubuki sensed an immediate source of danger the moment the voice spoke out. Turning to look, she saw a woman with a battle-hardened glare. This woman kind of reminded Fubuki of her father in a way, except way way more likely to kill someone. Immediately upon seeing her, Fubuki took several steps away from Scarfy. "I'm, uh... Here to join the resistance... M-my name is... Kaiyo. Kaiyo Fubuki," she said. The sheer aura of yandere from the woman made Fubuki have her guard up. One wrong word could mean death.

"Lying? About what?" Haruka's weak smile became a somewhat weak or semi-transparent weakened face. He looked like an injured puppy who was too busy understanding the world to figure out it was in pain itself.

"Did something happen? And chill out, she's cool. Met her in Hoshiko earlier. She's okay, promise. Won't hurt anybody-er, probably."

Haruka put his hand up and waved it frantically to get off her guard. Kaiyo was trustable more or less. After all, why would she have been hiding in Hoshiko so secretively?

Haruka was a poor judge of character in some cases.

It scared him when she became violent. But now he was desperately worried that she might be starting something violent. Also, the lying... what had she lied about? They had told each other nothing but the truth since the cheating incident, or at least, so he had come to believe.

Well it only made sense that Haruka was told anything to begin with, so again, Seifer agreed wordlessly and followed... into this current scene. Oh boy. He could feel the yandere aura in the room and actually backed up, more because he knew what a sword through the body feels like. The girl introduced herself as Kaiyo Fubuki, and she was... here to join the resistance? That might actually be a good OR bad thing, considering how this... interaction... resolved. Seifer remained quiet, if only to not actually make the tension even worse.

After the situation in Gotem City was handled, Tsubasa made his way back to the Training Facility, he was somewhat in some level of pain since he would feel a pulse through his body as the Reverse Energy was trying to break through and invade his body, thankfully his abilities have helped him keep it somewhat sealed and undetectable.

"..-pulse, grunt-....-pulse, grunt-...-pant- I need to keep it together, it's not as bad as I thought, but...-grunt-...I should be okay." he thought, as he entered the Training Facility.

Upon Entry, and some floor climbing, he saw his friends, Haruka, Seifer and Yukino. They were being escorted to a certain room by Yukino, considering that Haruka had his cuffs removed, Tsubasa assumed that this was an important situation to be a part of. He would try to help them in anyway he could.

"Hope you guys don't mind me joining you." he asked, walking up next to the group.

Before being able to respond to Fubuki, Haruka's wounded puppy expression quickly caught the commander off guard, causing a drop of nervous sweat to pour down the side of her head. "Well, er..." Now she wasn't even sure if she should tell him. The last thing she'd want is to cause more damage to his mentality by letting him know his girlfriend lied. "Um..." Fumbling a bit on how to start, her mind willingly let the inner yandere cloud her judgment for a moment.

"Kaiyo... Fubuki. I normally hear about new recruits before they're actually let into the building... It doesn't seem like you forced your way in, so I have some salary cuts to make."

Poor guards... And Yugure still eyed Fubuki suspiciously, despite her boyfriend's words.

"... I'll address that later. Haruka, I have a story to tell Seifer, and I need to tell you as well. The story about going to Mount Fuji and falling into a coma was a lie. I never went to Mount Fuji... I actually went to Cray as intended."

Yugure started off with a short summary, not minding this... new girl being here to listen. The Chosen Sword took a second to take a deep breath, and then still didn't think she was ready to speak it.

"Come with me... so I can explain this in a more private location. I don't want this story leaking to the rest of the resistance. The employees here already pity me enough, and it distracts them from work. Your... friend, can come along too."

Yugure led the party to a small meeting/planning room. Everyone was directed to have a seat, as it'd be a long story. A... very, very long story. Cameras were turned off so nobody could watch or eavesdrop. "Once upon a time, there was a weak woman named Yukino Espoir. After falling into despair, believing humans on Earth couldn't understand her misery, and seeing how much her younger sister hated her, a lion once told her that she could come to Cray. To live there, to train there. Even if was a short while. Due to being weak, she accepted just to run away from Earth."

Yukino Espoir is also Yugure Espoir, so one could tell this is another self-loathing roast.

"The plan was simply to stay there for one year, and return after calming down and training. Just because I was supposedly Exculpate the Blaster due to a synchronization with Blaster Blade back when I fought Jellal's Phantom Blaster Overlord... did not mean I was privileged to be a freeloader. I didn't intend to live as a spoiled brat in the United Sanctuary like I did back in the Espoir Manor. In addition to this, I had no contact possible with Earth without living it or speaking with Hana, which I adamantly refused to.

... Because, just as she was hurt by my being weak, I was hurt by her expectations and ridicule.

Perhaps it was simply because I was a weak minded child when drowned in failure and adversity. I couldn't be the hero or the sister she wanted. So that was another reason why I wanted to escape."

The girl folded her arms while standing to explain all of this. The reason behind her departure. She avoided the... more uncomfortable details to get to the point. Her face remained stoic, almost a little upset. Two- one year ago, Ezel did actually invite her to Cray... when they were both flung into the Rift by Neu Edelweiss. The world was simply too painful for Yukino at the time, so she wanted to flee. He let her, because he was her guardian and best friend. He still is.

"Before I continue on through time, I need to explain what significance the word 'time' has. One year ago, on April Second, I was twenty years old. A year has passed, so naturally, I would be twenty one. ... I am currently twenty two years old."

"Why is that?" Marron asked for the Liberators in the dark. "We never learned about that ourselves, actually. All we knew is that you were a year older than you were supposed to be..."

"I was on Cray for two years."

"Huh?" Gancelot asked. "Wait, how?"

"First, for a full year on Cray, I spent my life with the Sanctuary. It was all too easy to feel right at home - to feel like I was with a family. Perhaps they all treated me well because they pitied my situation? I didn't deserve it, but even if it was because everyone felt sorry for me, I felt happy. I, initially, was an awful fighter. I had about as much ability as disabled and inept cadet. Even so, I kept working. I even kept shouting 'I'm the Chosen Sword, so I'll get it!'. Simply a way to encourage myself, even if I knew my destiny with that title didn't mean anything about getting better. Yet... to put emphasis on how much I wanted to do it..."

A memory reformed in her mind. A long haired Yukino with her golden red eyes gazed up at the moon excitedly with her three avatars. Their exact words weren't heard, but the flashback showed Ezel teasing everyone and laughing. The girl hit him, and Ahmes laughed, motioning for them to stop. Yunos gave his usual "tch", and they must have started making fun of him too, because he reacted defensively when they turned to him. It seemed like a request was made after that mess, and Ahmes handed Ezel Blaster Blade.

"... I cut my hair out of symbolism."

Ezel personally cut the large, unnecessary portion of her hair off. The lion let it go, and the team watched it fly way into the winds of the night. A sign that the girl would change, becoming strong enough to be a knight. To become someone who earned the right to be the Chosen Sword. Someone... that Hana, Haruka, and others could look at without disgust or discomfort in heart again.

"I really mean it!" Yukino shouted again just to be sure.

"We heard you the first eight times!" Ezel jeered.

To further on the cliche, the avatars wanted to make some kind of mark to get stronger with her. To remember they were all here on top of the palace. The four of them decided to engrave their names into a part of the castle walls inside a drawing of a large sword. A promise was made to return here when they felt like they've made a massive leap of progress compared to today. Getting in a circle, putting their hands together, Yunos called it idiotic... and still put his hand in like the tsundere he is.

"I'm not a tsundere!"

"You know, Yunos, that's something a tsundere would say." Ahmes joked.

"Oh, alright, I see. You wanna go, then?"

"Times were peaceful. Well, more peaceful than now for Cray. There were still battles and the like, but nothing utterly massive like this. So nothing hindered our evolution as warriors. Due to my position, I was actually allowed to have a hand in creating Liberators and Revengers. Along with getting Jewel Knights an expansion on their faction. I met Mordred and learned his true name. I met the newcomers of Ezel's personal squad. I shook hands and had drinks with the rookies of Liberators, and learned assassination techniques from the black knights.

In more battles, I assisted in a fight against a Raging Form that tested the might of the new Shadow Paladin before having him join us. I befriended the thickheaded- ... airheaded- ... innocent Ashlei with Salome. I watched Gancelot through his troubles, and while he did not become Gancelot Zenith, he treasured his friends more, despite insecurities."

Flashes of those times came to mind as Yugure reached for pocket of her coat donned on Haruka. Out of it came a picture filled with knights, King Alfred, and Yukino with Ezel at the front.

"This was the last happy moment of my life at the time. We all achieved our goals, fortified defenses, and even improved relationships with Dragon Empire just because of the longstanding rivalry between our nations. Yes... if something were to happen, we would all have something to fight for to protect. Seifer, you had Rosalia for your something to protect. You two must've been the happiest in the world before any of this.

I know I was with Haruka before the civil war escalated between Royal and Shadow."

This long build up had a point.

"For an entire year that I didn't contact Earth, all seemed well. I was even looking forward to meeting my friends and family there again after growing so much. I wasn't as jaded as I was now, nor war-torn. I was more like my old, naive self.

Then the nightmare began."

A vast explosion of void.

Dark Brand Dragon and Freeze Ray Dragon appeared, along with a scene transition to Nebula Lord arising in the Dragon Empire.

"Link Joker came. Naturally, we had no means of even knowing a single this about this enemy. 'Unprepared'... would barely describe the state we were in when everything started. Early into the next year, I stayed behind to assist in the effort in thwarting the Star-vaders - the forerunners of Void. As a knight and a magical blacksmith with the powers of 'Blaster Meister', I proved to be a valuable asset. That didn't mean a thing, however. Lock destroyed our efforts instantaneously. Unlike how it's portrayed in the game, locks were not nearly as short as they are as cards. No, we watched our comrades sealed and put into deep sleeps. Like the ones Schwarzschild Dragon used on the three heroes.

It was only when we started getting locked is when we could identify the enemy. We still had no actual means of defeating it. Ezel could not reach the future Tsubasa created so easily, and in fact, couldn't reach it at all. The state of the United Sanctuary was already dire early on, and we barely knew about the other nations at the time... When we finally got information... Dark Zone was the first hit, and already almost entirely under Reverse's control... The Dragon Empire was immediately thrown into chaos with Nebula Lord reversing Vowing Sword Dragon.

We were lucky to survive as long as we did, as people from these crumbling nations still came to help us. We naturally sent help in turn, mind you, but I didn't go personally. It was around this time I learned of the Clown. ... However, when I learned about him, he ruined Zoo and Star Gate, along with hitting Magallanica in a couple of months. It took all of the major commanders just to bring down Daiyusha, which brought Cray enough time to...

... to survive."

The way she spoke and turned her back confirmed the situation constantly looked hopeless. Their backs were always to the wall, and even moments of relief simply felt more like delaying the inevitable. Cray was tenacious, though. They learned more and more about the commanders, more about the enemy. They gained information and learned the nature of these cyberoids. Chaos Breaker Dragon was practically his own faction, as no other Star-vaders really cared to be around him. Nebula Lord was apparently "merciful" while leading with overwhelming tactics. Infinite Zero was honorable. While he utilized lock like others, the dragon still wished for a fair fight with the strongest, like Raging Form.

In fact...

"Raging Form killing Infinite Zero was our first sign of hope. As was Aqua Force coming to our aid in just calming Vowing Sabre down."

Yes, those were tough enough times where nations that barely liked each other had to cooperate.

"Everything was started to turn around... or so we thought."

Of course there was a twist.

"A massive eldritch abomination descended upon Magallanica's shores when I had went out to help in an alliance with Aqua Force. No one had ever seen it before, and even nearby Star-vaders experienced something we thought machines couldn't.

... Fear.

The incomprehensible beast suddenly took a deep breath, inhaling void. ... Then thrust it forth from the mouth, or what looked like a mouth, and it... hit Nightmist, who had been speaking of Cocytus' Reverse nearby. ... Nightmist was obliterated. There wasn't a single trace of him left. There was no smoldering ash on the ground, nor smoke coming from where he stood.

He was simply erased.

We came to call these horrorfiends "Reapers". They were death itself, annihilating the very existence of whatever they pleased. Even the Star-vaders were at their mercy, but they seemed aligned.

I can remember getting a headache just looking at them..."

A large, clawed and centipede bodied monster landed on a mountain of Dragon Empire. A glowing tail wrapped around the structure, while it's other... tendrils wiggled about menacingly, aimed at Eradicators and Seal Dragons. The skullfaced terror opened its mouth, and it hissed. Minds couldn't even understand what it said, so it simply came out in a sort of robotic fashion. A single roar of some heinous sort decimated a number of Ancient Dragons on sight. The Shura Stealth Dragon divisions were rendered useless, as these demons reacted as if they had omniscience. Every kind of ambush, entrapment, and strategy failed. They always knew everything, even toyed with them by letting their plans "work".

"We didn't stand a chance against the Reapers and the Star-vaders. As much information as we gathered, it meant virtually nothing. I couldn't even learn the situation on Earth. Nobody could make a connection for me to go back. ... And I knew how strong connections between the two worlds were. ... I knew Link Joker probably reached Earth, my loved ones, and I couldn't do a thing. I could only accept that everyone was more than likely dead."

Yugure swallowed, thinking about what came next.

"... Then, it was simply our turn to die."

Chaos Breaker finally made it to the Sanctuary. Ashlei, naturally, was Reversed. As was Ramiel. They seemed to be specific targets. Thinking back, some people probably would have rather died normally or at least have been Reversed or locked... when the Reapers were right behind the cackling clown. Shots of heroic bravery in Yugure's memory played as people made sacrifices for others to simply escape. However, one sacrifice sent them into utter distraught. Alfred himself stood before the eldritch outer gods... and was erased all the same, despite thinking he could have put up a fight.

"There wasn't anything we could do."

Reversed Dragons marched with Link Joker. Worst of all, over the horizon of a falling sun, Dragonic Overlord had awakened from the a long, long coma. ... With a black ring on his back. Yes, the very same that is now terrorizing them in this timeline. Overlord the Rebirth joined in the annihilation of Cray.

"Zenon, however, didn't give up like the rest of us... Except he gave up on this timeline."

The Palace, the Oracle Think Tank and Genesis Megacorps, the massive hospitals, everything was falling.

"He told me, Ahmes, Yunos, Ezel, and Raging Form Dragon to go back in time. Our only hope to stop Link Joker was if we all returned before the war began, and if I got the Zenon of another time to send me to Earth before the connection was broken.

... That's when I saw her."

Yugure clenched her fist, digging her nails into her palm to the point of making it bleed.

A Yugure on Cray had her eyes widen as a Reaper as large as the one that destroyed Dragon Empire appeared. It was more metallic, sounding more appropriate with the robot voice they translated its words with. In front of it was... a woman. A woman she knew. A vile creature from Earth that the Chosen Sword recognized. This human being among cosmic horrors... smiled. A demon - no, a devil's grin. In fact, far worse than that. The only assumption Yugure had was that she was the ringleader of the Reapers, and the one who had everything annihilated. Her cruelty was even above possibility, as the giant centipede monster behind her stuck its claw in Chaos Breaker, as a way of conveying that the Clown outlived his usefulness.

"A traitor. But there was nothing I could do about it. I hurried back to Zenon, and leaped through time with my companions. ... When we appeared, we must have replaced those of us that existed in this timeline. That is when our minds all snapped."

Yugure's golden eyes lost their color, draining to a light, but empty blue.

"Our timeline had been completely eradicated. That's all that could have happened. There wasn't any miracle like the other time travelers. We lost the war and we lost our entire timeline. ... Because of this, I, personally, no longer have a future. Zenon called me a 'Singularity Point', who could no longer be affected by time. I know not about the others, as Zenon didn't seem to think they were the same.

In a way, I don't have a past either, beyond my own memories."

The woman turned.

"Even so, I rushed back to Earth with a mindset of having already experienced hopelessness. Because I still love all of you and wanted you all to survive. I wanted your Vanguards to be nurtured, and your futures to be bright. Even if I have nothing left", Yugure placed her hands on the table, leaning forward, looking directly at her little brother. Eyes filled with courage Ahmes wielded, and determination Yunos thundered forth into war with... The gaze of the Chosen Sword was one who was practically dead, yet still alive for the sake of a future she did not have.

"Seifer, I wanted to tell you all of this personally as a tale of losing purpose. Losing a reason to live and feeling utterly, and miserably useless.

That doesn't mean your personal battlefield to find motive is cleared. It does not mean your fight is over.

Friends, family, memories, and everything that lies before us in the present can and will be changed in a single step in the future. If you feel like you cannot do anything, then find it in yourself to reject the voice that tells you such drivel. Scream back at it with a will to simply be alive with what you can save. If you do that, you will find purpose true to yourself once more. Not only that, but you will take back everything that is yours. That is the kind of drive that keeps me moving, even if I've nearly committed suicide once before, and lost my entire timeline to these abominations. Knowing that I'll still have everything I love back in my hands, and that I'll preserve the future of every human being on Earth, and every person alive on Cray."

The Sanctuary stood at a loss for words, having never heard this story before. Even the Genuine King, Monarch Alfred did not know of such a tale. A Vanguard that stood for both planets, even after watching one be destroyed, and knowing another fell... Knowing she lost everything once before, and there was no guarantee she wouldn't lose it again, the soldier still rose. The misery of such a being was put aside for the joy of every other being. ... Inspiration...? Yes, some of them felt that. If this woman who was emotionally scarred across two timelines could still find it in herself to fight back, they certainly could.

"Haruka, if you want to fix what you believe is your fault, right the sins of your time, and stop Sera then we'll simply get all of that done. Tsubasa, if you wish to protect Haruto from disaster, along with fight for the Gold Paladin united forces that chose and love you, along with get proper vengeance for Neu, simply do it. Seifer, if you wish to find yourself a purpose, even if you can't use Kagero again, even if Rosalia isn't with you, simply find it."

No, she wasn't promoting reckless behavior. She was telling them all to understand their hopelessness, and bite back. Bite back and simply counterattack. That's all they had to do, and that's all they'll ever have to do.

They still weren't met with the impossible enemy known as the reapers. By then, their drive may falter, honestly. However, Ahmes smiled. He smiled knowing a Vanguard for Cray was in fact, emotionally the strongest woman in the world.

Cardfight Training Area - Page 9 Empty Re: Cardfight Training Area

When ushered to, Seifer followed without question. When Yukino started speaking, explaining... there was a lot... Far more than a typical person could. But Seifer listened. He tried to understand. Tried to fathom what she was talking about. The Reapers. He could sense... No.. FEEL the fear as she spoke coming from the curse of a deck at his hip. Pulling it out for all to see, he stared at Nebula Lord Dragon. "You're scared huh? They're that bad?..." he'd heard it all from Yukino. The reapers were impossible sounding enemies, almost invincible sounding. He believed her, but the sheer terror emanating off the deck he held... That made Seifer shudder. Then she spoke to him. Spoke to him about loss, about finding his own reason to fight again. All of the insecurities had... With just a few simple lines, they felt... gone almost. All of his doubts seemed misplaced. He had no access to Kagero, just Link Joker. And yet... "...Yukino. Nee-san..." he called her by both names as he gripped the dark deck in his hand, looking up at her. "...Alright. Thank you. ...I'm going to work to make this power mine, and help to defend the people I care about. ...I'm sorry it's come to me using the enemy's power. ...But maybe, just maybe there's a reason this happened. Thank you for helping me see past my problems."

"That is the kind of drive that keeps me moving, even if I've nearly committed suicide once before, and lost my entire timeline to these abominations. Knowing that I'll still have everything I love back in my hands, and that I'll preserve the future of every human being on Earth, and every person alive on Cray."

The above stuck in Tsubasa's head, as he listened to her tell her story of despair and revival, he would remember the feeling of hopelessness that the invaders made him experience when they tried to Reverse him, the feeling of watching your loved ones die in front of you, the temptation..to save them...the cost...the result...everything.

"...We all should take her words to heart...I can understand full well where she is coming from...though my experience was somewhat-pulse, grunt-...different.." said Tsubasa, that pulse almost revealed his situation bu thankfully he kept it under control.

"...I can somewhat relate to what you went through Yukino...I may not be as strong as most..but I will help lead us, all of us <..You too my paladins..> to a better future, we all will." he said, grasping his Liberator deck and smiling at his friends.

"...Hang in there my friend.." he thought, looking at Seifer.

"I despise Link Joker, but I believe you can truly make Nebula Lord your own weapon with enough reason. I believe in you." The commander spoke to her younger brother in response to her story getting to him. A peace of mind for him and personal resolve toward a future of any kind was hopefully what he needed.

However, Tsubasa must've taken Yugure for a fool. Her trained, war-worn eyes could see very clearly something was wrong. Something to talk to him about in private soon enough. Even so, his personal resolution still lightened up the day for both of them, wishfully.

Remembering Satoshi sent her a text message, she turned to the side, quickly texting him back with the cell phone coming out of her pocket.

"I'm in HQ, the training area ran by Cero. Where have you been? I've been worried about you and Haruka, and Haruka's right here in front of me. So you can imagine I'm twice as worried about you when you don't pop up."

Cardfight Training Area - Page 9 Empty Re: Cardfight Training Area

Post by Jello Mon Nov 16, 2015 9:30 am

He sat. He listened. He understood. He feared. He shuddered at the sounds and images flowing through his head. Yet through all of it he felt a weight in the bottom of his chest that was expanding and contracting rapidly. He felt like a self-sufficient balloon that was on its way to bursting. The story Yukino told them... It wasn't for the faint of heart, and not something he was particularly glad to hear.

For several reasons.

Despite wanting to understand everything, he felt as though he was pulled underwater and water pressure was thumping against his ear drums. He struggled to listen to the words Yukino was telling them because he didn't want to know.

He didn't care why she was gone. Her disappearance at all mortified him, the addition that this is, in theory, a whole different Yukino...

Everything was changing. Its not like Yukino met two different Haruka's, he was the same one since Day 1, as far as everyone is concerned. But the girl he fell in love with, was different. Or rather, came from a different existence of the same universe.

Hearing the sounds of lock and death and destruction only further scarred him on top of his own war flashbacks from earlier in the evening.

He gulped as her final few lines came out.

To right his own sins.

He blinked, listening to the inspired Tsubasa and iron-willed Seifer sing words of praise. Haruka would have joined had he not been having several levels of revelations layered on one another. Haruka sat silent. His hands tapped the desk very lightly.

Before he promptly used them to lift his body to a standing position. He could only look down and shake his head in.... What?

Anger? Disappointment? Fear? Disapproval?

He had no way to convey the emotions from this tale of absolute destruction and how void of life it was. To know so many died and something of the same, lest they befit a miracle to save the world, would happen here....

Lifting his head, Haruka glanced slowly up at Yukino, shooting an icy glare. He shook his head once more.

The guilt and ferocity he built up over the past weeks for what he had done all dissipated in an instant as the drowning feeling disappeared. His lungs filled with fire.

"Understood."

With that he exited the room in a hurry, off to bury his sins once and for all. A deal with the devil himself; Glendios.

He'd find him before anyone else, he knew Glendios the best anyways. Besides, they shared a body and reverse energy. They had a connection strong enough to track each other's movements down to the step. If he stopped Glendios before everyone had to fight him, well, it might not delay whoever these Reapers are, but it buys time for the Resistance to prepare.

He simply dropped his jackets on the table, tied his hair up and left the room. No looks. No more words than the solemn, "Understood."

When did Haruka become such a di-

Unfortunately...

Haruka never did forgive Yukino for lying to him, before he left the room.

Yukino seemed to have caught on to something, a trained eye is always a strong asset but even she had limits, she could not know what was happening in Tsubasa's soul at this very minute and he did not want to worry her either, he was only fixated on dealing with the enemies that stand before them. Whether they are these Reapers or the invaders or even those 'seeds' she referred to, once they are dealt with surely the energy within Tsubasa will disappear and he will be back to normal.

As Haruka left the room, with very few words, Tsubasa could understand where his general destination would be, without Sera it was obvious. Nevertheless, Tsubasa had something he wanted to talk to him about...maybe this was also his way of judging which side Haruka stood by at the moment...he did not want to believe that he would have to fight against a good friend again..

"I'll be taking my leave for now as well." he said, as he walked out of the room and began to run at top speed almost disappearing from the sights of anyone who lay eyes on him when he left the room, his target, obvious.

As Haruka was exiting the building Tsubasa appeared in front of him, jumping above his head and landing straight in front of him, grabbed his arms and jumped to the sides of the Training Facility building, making his way to the roof of the building at quick speed, Diablo had left his mark.

"..You already know so I have nothing to hide, but I have a few things that I have to ask you Haruka, I had to take us up here so there would be no interference.." he said, as he locked the door that leads to the roof from inside the building, he did not want to be interrupted by anyone, or trouble anyone for that matter.

"I brought you here because I want to discuss The Clown." he said, turning around to face Haruka.

Despite making his escape from the room and to his intended destination, it was delayed by a curious, or rather interrogative Tsubasa. Turns out it really was Diablo.

The cold winter's bite was putting an edge as the wind was forcing intense frostburn on the skin of the boys now entering the roof.

"What about him? Do you have a plan for him? If not I request you allow me to go soon." Haruka was cold.

No not literally.

His demeanor was frigid, despite talking to a comrade. His mood went from sucky, to cruel, to awful, and now thin-line dead. He felt nothing other than he had to help fix the problem he created. If he couldn't do at least that, then there was no hope for humanity to stop the Reapers.

Satoshi stepped into the training facility. The last time he was here, he had managed to will himself out of the influence of Nebula Lord long enough to provide the researchers with data regarding Reverse and the power behind it, known as Void. The research proved fruitful, at least from what he understood with the visit of the Resistance to his estate in Hawaii.

Today, however, it was finally time for him to act with the movement with information he could report. About the time travelers, the fact that he was able to Stride thanks to some conversion of Void...these things were going to prove to be important in the long run for them. They needed to band together with the talent and abilities that they had to move forward sooner rather than later.

Satoshi took a seat in the lobby and whipped out his phone.

I've been...gathering information, to say the least. I'm here at the HQ, in the lobby. Can we get a chance to talk? Preferably privately? It's about what's happened recently. I'd like to share it with everyone else, too, but I need to talk to you specifically first.

Pressing send, he pocketed his phone to wait. In the meantime, he pulled out the blank card that was once Nebula Lord Dragon once again to look it over. Still as empty as ever. Yet...there was something compelling about the blankness of this card. It was as though the card was responding to his will and determination to keep the peace. Having it out made his rings glow a shade of gold.

He pocketed the card. This would be something to talk to Yugure about as well. As the Blacksmith of Cray, maybe she'd have some insight.

---

Meanwhile, on the roof of HQ, Heero was silently observing a confrontation between two figures, concealing himself well.

"The power...I can feel it. It's in this building, for sure," he muttered to himself quietly.

As expected Haruka was colder than usual, or rather more serious, it was understandable after the story he had just heard from Yukino it would make sense for him to want to do something, regardless of what that something may be.

"I've Unreversed several individuals throughout this whole ordeal, and most of them are either fighting with us or in the hospital recovering, except one person, a friend of yours I believe, Shiki." he said.

It may have looked like Tsubasa was interrogating his friend but regardless he mostly wanted to protect his comrades he did feel concern for Shiki, he still wanted to spend some time reading some Manga and just talking if possible, but beyond that he cared for his friends.

"..I could not place my finger on it before, how he was not one to cardfight that much, but after I unreversed him I payed a visit to the hospital he was in and was told that he was discharged, but no matter how hard I searched or where I went there was no trace or records of him...I'm aware that you're acquainted with The Clown, now tell me the man behind that mask, is it him or not?" he asked. "I won't keep you here for long all I want to know is who he is, maybe then I can help him get out of whatever he is caught up in."

Shiki? Haruka was sure Shiki had something to do with the war going on but... Yeah he hadn't seen him either. Not very much since the camping trip actually.

Haruka sighed depressed. He wasn't going to argue the obvious. Shiki must be the one who is behind the Clown... It could be anyone really, however despite that, behind the "mask" Haruka could feel his presence there.

"Shiki... The Clown. You want to help him?" Haruka sat on the edge of the roof, dangling his legs over lightly. The sky was slowly turning to morning, the sun just barely cracking over the surface. He was exhausted. The wind was less freezing, however despite that he still felt frostburn grace the tips of his nose and fingers.

"I see. So you want to help him then... To be honest there aren't many I can think of. To break through that sort of lock; well, he seemed willing. As if he gave himself over go the lock."

Haruka tapped the heels of his feet to the wall of the building.

"Maybe bring him some manga... Talk to him. Cardfight him. For fun. He doesn't like serious fights. Never really has." He turned his head back halfway.

"Anything else?"

"I appreciate the help, i'll see what I can do then...and no...I have nothing else to say." he said, as he took Haruka by his arm and carried him on his back as he leapt from the building to an area a bit far from the building entrance. "It's only fair that you get the ride both ways I suppose..."

Tsubasa started to walk away from Haruka, he had to go check up on Haruto and make sure that he was okay. It had been a long time since he last saw him, but before he could have gone a long way he turned around and said, "You better come back...I still have a lot to settle."

This may have seemed like a cold thing to say but, Tsubasa was still trying to come to terms with what exactly Haruka mean't to him, beyond a friend, he saved him during the fight with Diablo and Sera...if he was an enemy why would he do that? Hopefully once this ordeal is over things will return to normal like during that Camping Trip when Haruka and Tsubasa would hang out and cardfight, and obsessing over restanding.

A smile appeared on Tsubasa, as he continued to walk, and remembered those times with such clarity.

Yugure watched Haruka leave the room quietly. As did she when Tsubasa left. As she feared, lying to Haruka and revealing the truth of the lie most likely had a negative effect. Reality would not change what she had done, and it never will. Nevertheless, what he thought of her came second. What was important was that he was alive, stayed that way, and didn't do anything reckless or stupid. Unfortunately, the third is exactly what she expects him to do.

In a way, however, this worked out for what they needed regardless.

The tired solider responded to Satoshi's text.

"We can talk outside."

The woman took her jacket left behind by Haruka, and adjusted it after putting it back on. One of the employees caught her, handing her the report on Chaos Breaker's location, along with a sort of radar for Glendios' high concentration of Reverse. Yugure made the declaration that she would not be returning to the building until this is all over. That, or not until the Clown was dead. Doors opening, a couple researchers protesting against such an extreme notion, the Chosen Sword walked out into the open.

Seifer wasn't sure if he was really understanding the current situation now, but after the explanation... Everything just seemed to kind of... Fall apart. So it seemed. That wasn't good but, whatever. Sighing the male walked out of the room finally, wandering the halls once more and clutching the new deck to the center of his chest. Why he was so fond of the deck now was a mystery but maybe... Maybe it was a symbol of hope, of rebirth for him. Only time would tell at this point.

Satoshi stepped outside the building, as per Yugure's request. He placed a hand on her shoulder from behind.

"Hey. Sorry I've been so out of touch with you. A lot of...stuff happened, to say the least." He pat her shoulder. "I take it we're about to head on the warpath?"

Yugure turned around. She wanted to be happy to see her best friend, but she was honestly just relieved he was alive more than anything.

"Once the Clown is dealt with, I'm sending all of our forces to Glendios - to Sera. Long story short, yes. We're about to head on a warpath. You mentioned some things you wanted to talk about, so now is probably the last chance we can talk calmly."

After all, it wasn't just a warpath for the Chosen Sword. The woman was sure she would leave a trail of cyber death in her wake before this was over.

Satoshi sighed, then nodded. "Alright, then." He pulled his arm back and crossed it along with his other. "Here goes."

"I was headed over to meet you guys several times over following our light show a while ago. But along the way, I ran into two of our...let's call them 'guests.' One of them was the one you beat up. The version of you that beat Jellal, Queen Yukino." He smirked. "If there's anything I can give you regarding you not wanting to be associated with being Yukino, I wouldn't want to be associated with someone like her." He then shrugged. "I did get a chance to talk to her, though. You might say that following Glendios, dealing with her and the others like her are the next thing on our agenda, because they're planning on messing our timeline up.

"Which brings me to Cyan." Satoshi bit his lip. "Cute girl, really, and very understanding and appreciative of this world. But she's the one that proved to me that this is going to be something we have to deal with. They're still going to fight to save their own worlds by destroying ours. I tried reasoning with her, telling her that if her world's future was so ruined as it was, then there was a chance to start over with our timeline. Didn't work. We fought."

He raised his marked hand. "My mark started reacting to both of them, though, and when I was fighting Cyan, I was able to do something crazy. I managed to copy something she did, and coincidentally, you did." He held up his hands in a different style of shrug. "I was able to Stride by sheer willpower. It was crazy. I got your messages about getting fitted for a Reality Bangle, but it looks like I don't actually need it after all." He sighed. "It took a lot out of me, though, and I ended up at the hospital for a little bit. Some bleeding in my brain, they said."

Satoshi gave a weak smile. "Before you say anything, don't worry about it. Apparently I healed myself overnight." He held up his marked hand again, looking it over himself. "Though, that makes me wonder what I'm able to do. Since you severed Nebula Lord from me, it's been like Void never left me but...became some sort of different power. I don't know how to describe it, but it's been a lot more helpful than expected, so, whatever it is you did, thanks, I guess?"

He paused for a moment, then reached into his pocket and pulled out the blank card. "Also, there's this. I wanted to show you this when I first came back from Hawaii, but stuff came up, as we've gone over. This...used to be Nebula Lord." He flipped the card over in his fingers repeatedly. "Now it's a blank slate with nothing on it. But it didn't fade from existence like most things. In fact, if I concentrate a bit..."

Satoshi stared at the blank card briefly, and not long afterwards, his mark began to glow golden, as it did before. He nodded to it. "That happens. I don't know why, or what it's supposed to mean. I figured I'd ask you about it, since you're supposed to be the Blacksmith of Cray or something, right? Forging stuff is your thing, but it feels like every time I stare at this card, I'm about to change it into something. I'm just...unsure what."

He pocketed the card and resumed crossing his arms. "That's everything that's been going on with me. The only other thing is...about the dinner we had a long time ago. When you said something about Mount Fuji. Later, you said something to me about a coma, but you didn't go into any details about it. Is there something you've been holding off telling me about?"
