Chronicle's Eve Stage - Page 2 Empty Re: Chronicle's Eve Stage

Satoshi's head wasn't fully in the game, even as he entered into this tournament. Worse still, he was given quite the first round opponent: the strongest Seed, a man who had decided on him as a rival and happened to be someone Cherub warned him of long before, Solis Guren'ou. The Perdition user had a bone to pick, and boy, did he get to pick it.

Regalia did their best to keep Satoshi going, but even with his focus pulling up, the loss of the two Musketeers was still doing a number on him. He was forced off of Yggdrasill, his ace amongst the Regalia, onto Nyx. He couldn't keep up with Solis' newfound trigger luck, almost as if the loss of those Musketeers had drained Satoshi of his own in exchange.

A strong end put the nail in the coffin. He was out in Round 1. Something akin to the old days. It was...not a great feeling, but even then, when Solis pointed out he was able to fight him for real, and not as an element of the war...he couldn't help but be somewhat okay with it. The young man gave a strong handshake to match his own farm-raised grip. Perhaps this was the beginning of something greater than the foreboding darkness...

Satoshi 0 - 1 Solis

Lua also wasn't exactly into it, but found reason to as her game went on. It was against a fellow drone, Kachidoki, who wanted to reassure her of things that had happened. She had lost an insurmountable abundance of joy recently, and yet, her success against the ninja of true skill made her warm up just a little more. This tournament was meant to be practice and fun for this game, above all else. She even got the chance to ride her original avatar, Malchedael.

The ninja did his best to hold up, but the onslaught was just too much. Lua was headed to Round 2.

Lua 1 - 0 Kachidoki

Chris continued smiling. That drone who wasn't the strongest, but by far, the most evil never wavered, always filled with glee in this tournament. Her matchup was quite difficult, against the massive speed of Jewel Knights with being able to constantly call via Swordmy for a single counterblast, then being able to fetch the majority of grade three units in deck... Admittedly, unless Chris got lucky, Machining wouldn't be able to last the entire game. Still, while the other drones were here for business and ambition, she was here to enjoy the game. She loved Vanguard, and more importantly loved how it destroyed the hearts of men. Watching Noel play Ashlei Reverse with a smile, the opponent was a prime example of an insect Harbinger could toy with without falter. Noel didn't like bugs, the audience didn't like bugs, did they not like themselves? Chris found insects cute, homing a baby tarantula on her personage that freaked out the entire crowd. Bunch of wusses, bunch of pissants- oh. Noel says she likes ants and butterflies.

Good, because she was one.

"As long as you have that evidence of Reverse, you're just an ant like the rest of us too! I'm expecting greaaat things from you! Buh bye!"

Chris lost the game, taking her final damage, and leaving with the words "you will forever be inferior". Someone who is still Reversed... Noel is a victim - a slave to the end's coming just like every other human being. ... Chrisaline Egao was still smiling cheerfully, as if she wasn't a malicious girl.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The drones were rather excited to see their leader: Fuki fight against Seifer. They were all going to enjoy watching Seifer get mauled after going back to the heroes, however, Fuki didn't see it as that. She simply saw it as an opponent she fought once before, and had extensive knowledge of over the years. "The Strongest Drone's Fight" was not in her mind. That stoic warrior simply fought to advance the ambitions of the grim reaper. The strangling Star-vaders fought against Revengers, with the worry of how they would retire before lock in mind... Harbinger's Legion was put at ease to see Seifer attempt to rush her down, which was a good idea. Her hand and number of solid rearguards weren't designed to keep up.

So don't save Photon.

That malicious Star-vader who grew more akin to Chaos Breaker's demeanor smirked, not bothering in an attempt to lock one of his old users. Instead, he simply attacked Blaster Dark, and fended him off from Imaginary Plane. Fuki was at a disadvantage with little to no rearguards, yet, her expression didn't change. No, "falter" was not in the dictionary of the strongest drone. Instead of fretting over it, she proceeded to simply work with what's there. Locking Seifer's frontrow, even with little resources, as more than enough. Even if Seifer was one of the few who played a Break Ride in this age. No... a Crossbreakride in this era, Fuka took the brutal Phantom Stabbing without flinching, then Perfect Guarded the utterly massive Dragruler Phantom's strike. The Star-vaders were in such a bad looking spot, but with a collected mind, Fuki made use of her resources. Against a thirteen thousand power base, Fuki did not waste hand, but still tried to bet on Triggers. Imaginary Plane still continued with decent swings while in Legion, and his front row returning wasn't too much of a great hinder.

With one last Phantom Stabbing, she survived. To add salt to the wound, with two open counterblasts, Volt Line's boosted attack hit, locking Blaster Dark Revenger forever. ... As far as the game went, anyway.

"Well played", the blonde offered. She was not condescending like the other drones, nor was she going to offer the enemy comradeship. They fought, they finished. She bowed gratefully for the game, and did not bother or jeer Seifer. While Koga had been knocked out, Fuki remained as a fear for the audience. The Star-vaders aren't as strong as they could be, so how much longer before they get worse...?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The beloved war hero: Yukino Espoir was a monster of cruelty after witnessing horrors and accepting that she was a weakling. The voice of that Aurageyser Dragon rang throughout, "you're weak". It is because of that, the sword did not bother to remember who Fubuki was. Fubuki was a person mad at her for various reasons, the order of murdering Seeds in particular. However, with the Reapers being the main problem, she didn't entirely care. The Chosen Sword has wrong this girl, don't get her wrong, and Yukino felt her self-loathing intensify. Seekers clashed with an old generation Tetra Drive Dragon deck. With Fubuki unable to reach her Break Ride, and having few decent rearguards, she was prey to the blades of Royal Paladin. Alfred XIV's Critical Three smash, taking the opponent from one to four damage in a single stroke, made clear the might of the King of Knights.

"Avenge my fallen friend", Fubuki stated. Yukino didn't know who she meant - she didn't remember Fubuki was mad for Cyan. Being the warmonger against the tyrants she was, Yukino advised to direct hatred to the Reapers. They're the reason anyone is dying right now. Though Yukino may be a monster on level with Harbinger, she would at least not let those behemoths erase the future.

Fubuki shouldn't let them either.

Yukino glanced up toward the crowd, noticing Harbinger high up.

She was grinning, even with a number of Drones getting knocked out.

The Chosen Sword gritted her teeth, snarling as her pulse quickened. Red eyes of enlightenment flashed, seeing the enemy was entirely undaunted. That busty redhead even shared a glass of wine with some others.

What a harlot.

-------------------------------------

"U-Uh..." Jessie was... at a loss. Before him was his opponent, and she was a maid. He didn't even try to deny that thought or hide it under the facade of something else. That is literally a girl dressed up and acting like a maid before him. The boy is only fourteen, but hanging around Bashiro got him used to rating girls and just picking out who was pretty and who wasn't. And she's... quite pretty. Too pretty, he wanted this to stop. Why isn't Bashiro paired against him?! Come on man, focus! The maid girl: Beatrice, noted his gawking, and didn't even mind it! No, no! He's not a sleazebag! Jessie is... moderately innocent! He's not a pervert!

Ugh.

Ancient Dragons combated Battle Sisters, and even though Beatrice held off on riding to grade two, Battle Sister, Jelly conjured up an enormous number of cards in hand from her repeated Legion skill over and over. Even with Spinodriver and his crossride: Spinocommando, they had to expend everything possible to survive with a deficit of triggers and Beatrice's never ending hand size. Miraculously, they did. The massive number of draws accumulated by Jelly didn't make up for a lack of Heal Triggers in sight. A grinding battle between Tachikaze and Oracle Think Tank, drawing cards without end, holding onto resources for eternity, until Beatrice could not stop everything for a final Break Ride turn.

Jessie pulled through, only because that woman didn't get one of her four heal triggers out of thirteen cards.

This ferocity - this vanguard was the competitive stage. A hell equal to the war for the new generation.

He loved it.

"Good game! And... thanks. Heheh." The boy couldn't help but blush when a pretty lady congratulated him. "My idiot brother, he's... well... uh..."

---------------------------------------------------------

Bashiro wants no part of this tournament. There's not enough women, the praise isn't women, the three overseers are men, this place just sucks. His opponent was even a dude... It was Neo, who was a nice guy from the looks of it, but he just really didn't want it. At least, he'd get to show off to his junior. The thug noticed immediately that Neo played Brawlers, starting with Fighting Dracokid. It seems like he didn't want Spark Kid because he wasn't at the point where all of your grade three units became necessary to fight with. This kid's got a ways to go, and at least Bashiro could have a good time showing Neo what was to come. Right off the bat, their decks were different. From starter, grade one, two, and then threes. He even had Skyblow dragon... and Bashiro's was deleted.

A sigh.

Narukami life is rough.

Bashiro decided to get straight into things when his hand had literally four grade three units. Riding one, then sliding one in for Crossride powers, Koukon and others flooded with power over the original Bigbang Knuckle Dragon. An immense series of machinegun like punches hitting all of Neo's units, then getting insane powers. The diamond breaking fists proved incredibly problematic, but so did Bashiro damage checking grade threes. He only had one use after tossing one away to Perfect Guard. Still, he bit the bullet, and continued taking gambles while keeping one more four-attack mashing in hand. But Neo wouldn't call more than two rears, and he needed to push. So... Bashiro pushed and used it to take out the two rearguards for Teiroku and Koukon to reach large powers.

That same sleazebag who couldn't win a game, now into saving the world, had evolved.

Neo survived and counterattacked with Bigbang Knuckle's original front row assault, and Bashiro took a hefty risk guarding literally everything, even Perfect Guarding for his Rearguard. Having a thirteen thousand base helped grandly, and left the thug with one last shot... and he got Bigbang Knuckle.

"We're drinking buddies." Bashiro and the Thunder Dragon smirked and said to one another, not hearing the other. These feelings definitely reached each other, and the sentiment blasted into Neo for a finale. Bashiro was glad to show off, but then remembered... now he's stuck going further into this tournament. With a sleazy grin, he saluted his fellow in Narukami off, asking for him to point out any pretty women he might meet.

-------------------------------------------------

Aoi and Sakuya, the companions of China and Korea respectively commenced a white-hot battle between Tsukuyomi and Ripples with god-like speed. Unlike the rest of the competition, this was the prowess of those victors of other countries. Drawn out games? Maybe. But boring games? Not in the slightest. They struck each other hard and fast, especially with their grade two turns. The entire time, the hyperactive Aoi bounced about, synchronizing with Ripples, just rubbing off on them. Since her cards floated, she got her body moving. With the consecutive waves of the incessant command, the China girl began kicking rapidly in the air as her image was attacking Oracle Think Tank with Aqua Force in succession. Just like her master, Aoi prioritized speed against Sakuya's true deck. At first, they fought with her playing Battle Sisters. Now, with Tsukuyomi and Izanagi, Aoi could not waste time if she wanted to prevent Sakuya from reaching a stack of an ungodly amount of triggers. Had it dragged out, she would have in no way been able to survive.

But Militiades and Genovious would have none of it.

The game ended with strikes of swiftness, and Aoi saluted with Genovious.

"We will carry on your spirit through the tournament!" The two of them said proudly, Aoi filled with more cheer. Facing off against Sakuya again was extremely fun, even if her foe had gotten unlucky. Just facing each other in the big leagues was a rush like no other Aoi wanted to experience over and over again. With her rival champion... this Chinese dominance... Aoi realized how much she loved Vanguard, and tossed a gumball to Sakuya.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"Lua... where have you been?" Kachidoki was surprised to see his fellow drone finally return after some sort of unannounced leave. Showing concern, she seemed... much more depressed. Like there was simply no way out, and her dreams had been crushed. This... This right here is what Solis and Kachidoki fought to end. This samurai is a man of nihilism, believing in peace through nothingness. Why? Because the future holds despair and sorrow, and they didn't want their comrades to feel miserable in the end. Murakumo and Angel Feather crashed into one another, and it didn't seem like Lua was into things at all. Such as natural, given her mood. As a loyal warrior to his men, the swordsman simply wanted her to feel better, and spoke his mind even if he didn't know what the problems truly were.

He even offered her money, that's the one thing men don't do before the relationship according to Bashiro.

Magatsu and his Shadow Clones struck at the Angel Feathers with the swiftness. Even having a Limit Break enabler for his Legion Mate to further his advance. While triggers were scarce, his numbers and hand were large. He fought against the two Celestial Legions in order to convey his point - he's here for her. It only ended when he had a surplus of Grade Three units, and the power of the Holy Edge Celestial with friends was too great for his three grade three units in hand.

But Lua came here to have fun, if nothing else. And she did. Kachidoki was pleased, sheathing his sword, "my pleasure".

-------------------------------------------------

Solis and Satoshi.

"Let's fight like warriors", the sun hero declared, grinning. Though he was the strongest drone next to Koga and Fuki, he was not there to simply antagonize people. There was the mission, but there was also settling his petty grudge. Winning or losing mattered not, so long as he could truly show his scorching hot prowess to his foe. Yes... today, they are not Resistance and Drone. They are not hero and villain. Today... they are men in combat. Having learned his lesson a new styled-Perdition deck faced off against Regalia once again. Solis opened by trying to set a mood a bit, inquiring about how his fellow has been since the lake meeting. It sounded like Satoshi found himself, and all was well. Yes, very, very well. No tears today, only sweat.

Solis struck fast and true, not withholding his forces to decimate and tear at Satoshi's. He'd still have to pray against Yggdrasil, but his power would be known this time. Yes, with Overlord the Great and Barbara in surplus, Solis stopped the massive Yggdrasil assault and still had only 2 damage after healing so. He was excited, grinning as his duel with Regalia's vanguard continued with sparks flying - the air charged with ferocity. Satoshi's hand whittled quickly and Kagero tore out his rearguards as much as possible, especially with Overlord the Great getting more when he had a front row. Satoshi could have lessened his offensive game and not given Great targets, but Solis was pleased with this. Satoshi was a man of no fear from Solis' belief, and he wanted more opponents like that.

Midnight Regalia, Nyx appeared to do what Yggdrasil could not, and that's store advantage of some sort. Overlord the Great still didn't let up for a single instant, Solis constantly having at least one column to throw up to four triggers on, and getting a rearguard Overlord to further it. A quintet wall took him off guard, but it still had him hyped.

"Let's fight like warriors", he said. And like warriors, they did.

Overlord the Great scored a Critical Trigger on his first twin drive, then ended it all with even more draw triggers in the second.

Hands joined, the crowd cheering.

Solis advanced against a rival, not an enemy. With a smirk, he had gotten his revenge on Satoshi.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah, he's the one who taught me everything", Jessie Hakaisha spoke to Beatrice. "There he is now." He added, watching Bashiro approached as the brothers knew full and well they were up next.

"Oh, hello hot momma. Jessie, when were you gonna introduce me?" Bashiro greeted, immediately complimenting the maid while talking to his brother, who groaned irritably.

"I was hoping never."

"The fuck man? Oh, I get it. You're hitting that stage in your life, eh? So you wanna take girls from your old man, is that it?"

"What the hell are you on about?! No, man! And don't talk like you're my dad!!"

Bashiro laughed as Jessie freaked out, petting the little white haired tyke. They decided on their game being held off for tomorrow. The brothers hadn't fought one another in awhile, and Jessie was scared of monsters like his brother and the Big Bang Busters. Still... after fighting Beatrice, he felt as if he was closer to standing with the heroes and legends of competition, not war.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Round one had been fully completed by all the participants that made it to the main stage. Though the tournament didn't have to wait for all matches of a round to be completed, Daisuke Oshiro still congratulated every man and woman who succeeded into the second rounds, and consolation ribbons were handed out to those defeated in the shape of a clock. Round two games had already commenced, flames, sparks everywhere, wind blasting, light shining, darkness eating. Admittedly, Yukino said there was a good taste in the air. This Chronicle's Eve was for the competition, on top of stopping Harbinger's ambitions. For the drones, it was about reaching the possible end while still enjoying the lasting of their lives. The blonde king spoke with a booming voice as fights raged on and were completed, "Time itself weeps joyously as Vanguard today is not dictated by good nor evil. But simply as human beings - as men, women, children. I am proud of this nation and others that traveled across the globe for this spectacle. We of the Cardfight Association are even more proud to govern over this event of peace with you all, and wish gloria unto these holy lands."

Chronos frowned, watching the games. Harbinger grinned, laughing no matter the result of her drones' battles.

The victor of this tournament will take the trophy, and within its cup, Chronojet Dragon shall pour Stride into it. If they can win... Chronos mulled over.

If any drone makes it to the finale, Chronojet will descend, not seeing it was one of my own that won. When he does, I'll eat him whole, and nothing stops me from destroying the Akashic Record. Harbinger giggled, folding her arms, and kicking back her feet.

Chronojet sat within a throne of a black void with a white light shining down on him in wait.

He's coming soon.

"Thank you very much! Mr. Haruka, I'm looting for you in this tournament so please win. You'd be extremely famous, like Aoi or Cero if you win such a large tournament. Hopefully we'll meet again then, please don't forget to pass the message to Yukino. Thanks!" Mitsuki joyfully cheers for Haruka as she walked away with a mature smile. Several games have passed which she missed due to the conversation but what caught her dear attention was a couple sitting on a chair. Worried, Mitsuki approached the sleeping pinkette and asked Seifer if she was alright. She appeared to be crying, in pain or not she'll never know, but maybe medical attention was needed and Mitsuki does have some knowledge in that field. Miss, are you okay? Do you need to go to the infirmary or do you need a glass of water? she asked as she croutched down in front of the pinkette's chair, realizing she was in the tournament. Her game against Mirai was spectacular but she did not realize Rosalia lost to Cero until Mitsuki looked up at the screen. "Oh, maybe you just need moral support..uh..oh... Mitsuki apologized to her as she realized her health was most likely perfect with her loss bringing her mood down. She felt embarassed due to her insensitivity and begged pardon several times. "Sorry again, I really didn't realize you were down because of that. Your game against Mirai was superb, I thought you were really great then." she continued as she stared at Seifer, full of guilt. Maybe she shouldn't have interrupted after all.

After losing to Haruka, Okuri had taken to observing the fights of those he knew. Carlos and Jessie in particular stood out as fights he wanted to see. Carlos was against a Kagero player and despite an amazing offensive was stopped and beaten. Jessie had a bit of an interesting time against a strange woman yet he had pushed through and won the fight. This put him through to fight his brother in the next round which was definitely a fight to watch.

He went over to congratulate the brothers and noticed they had begun speaking with the woman Jessie had fought. "Congratulations you two, made it farther than I did." he said happily as he approached. He made a motion acknowledging Beatrice and his illusion followed suit for her to see. "Seems we were both on the less fortunate side of things miss." he commented.

Oh, that's... Surprising? And startling. This girl who Seifer had yet to meet interjected herself into the couple's conversation, seeming to wrongly assume Rosalia was injured. Was she... As air headed as Aoi was?... If not more so? ...Sei, buddy that's mean. Be nice. "S-she's fine. Just a run of bad luck." he nudged the pinkette lightly, telling her to at least say hi. "I don't believe we've met though..." he trailed off, fishing for a name that he did not know. The prospect of checking for new cards though did appeal to him, at least so that the pinkette at this side could get something new.

"Ah, sorry I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Mitsuki Kisaragi. Nice to meet you. If I'm not mistaken you're Rosalia and Seifer from the tournament, right? Mitsuki apologized as she introduced herself, not realizing both of them are her future comrades. She stood up, pinched on her skirt and bowed down to the two for intruding. Overhearing a conversation about buying new cards, she questioned herself if Seifer was still in the tournament and thought of apologizing to Rosalia by buying her a card.

Post by Rosalia Izanami Thu Apr 14, 2016 10:40 am

Well that was... new. Someone actually came up to ask if she was alright? Rosalia had been spacing out for a minute, nearly falling asleep like usually. The pinkette straightened up when Mitsuki introduced herself though (and when Seifer nudged her). "O-oh... I'm sorry... I um.. Thank you for asking, but I'll be okay. Just a little down about the fight," she admitted, scratching her cheek. Not like she had much else to say about the fight versus Cero, and the insults that came along with it. She was a sensitive heart.. "It's nice to meet you, Mitsuki. And yeah, we were in the tournament. We both lost though, so we're just waiting now to see what'll happen in the end with our friends and their fights.... Thank you though. I'm glad someone thought my first round fight was good. I was shaking the entire time, because this was my first tournament..." No harm in telling the truth. Rosalia's fight against Mirai was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences she's ever dealt with.

Xat watched the battles proceed and was cheering her friends on,. However she soon felt something dark comming from the arena and it called out to her to find it. SHe begain to look around seeing all her allies that have won and got defeated but none of them had the dark aura she was sencing. She was about to go back to the stands when she saw her wolf glow and she was transported to the murakumo place where Shirayuki stood in the wait.

"I fear that this darkness we are sencing is comming from our friend who uses Gold Paladin. I was on my way to see percival to talk to him but I couldn't get near due to the amount of negitive feelings there." SHe told her giving Xat an idea who it was comming from.

With that in mind she opened her eyes and was back at the stadium, she then began to run quickly knowing that she need to find Haruto. She soon came across him sitting n the stands and went over to him feeling the darkness around him. "Haruto....can you hear me?" She asked him

Beatrice mentally sighed but kept her composure as she smiled. "You have an amazing brother here. His skills in Vanguard shows you taught him well. Although I wonder if Vanguard is the only thing you taught him." First thing first was to get a better understanding of these two relationship before driving the nail into the coffin. She blinked as she gave a nod at the person that came to congratulate the brothers. "Not less fortunate. It was merely lack of skills, something that can be improved for another moment."

Trinity watched the tournament by Harbinger's side, frowning. The Resistance were better than she anticipated. Perhaps she should have joined. But it didn't matter. Victory or defeat, she knew in the end her Lord would have what she wanted. And the cybernetic drone would be ready as well with her army.

"Ah, how unfortunate. Its absolutely fine though, my silly brother was also in the tournament and he lost to Cero just like you but in the first round. I was also cheering for him, what a fail hahaha" she jokingly comforted Rosalia who seemed to feel a bit relieved after mentioning her fight. After the casual conversation an announcement was made saying round 1 was finished which alerted everyone in the area. Should she return or should she stay with the two, a hard decision was forged but nonetheless her bright mind combined the two options into one: to invite the two to spectate the leftover rounds. "The second round must be starting shortly since the first round has officially finished. Do you want to watch the remaining games? They're extremely fun, like this guy called Haruka, I'm really looting for him. Too bad he'll have to go up against Yukino soon." Mitsuki blurted out not realizing the two were particularly close to the contestant mentioned due to their relation in the Resistance. Not to mention Seifer was in fact Yukino's brother.

Well, that makes sense. To get to Round Two, Cero had to beat somebody. Who would have guessed it was this girl's brother? Glancing upwhen all of Round One officially finished, Rosalia finally released her hold on the brunette's arm, settling for holding hands instead. She felt a bit better now, and talking to Mitsuki helped. "Hm?.. Well, yeah, I guess that's the plan. Just stick around to watch the remaining matches. I was gonna go adventure probably and see about finding a card-shop here at the stadium though..." Though the mention of Yukino and Haruka caused the pinkette to look at the brackets again. Yukino versus Haruka? Oh gosh, that will be.. terrible? She wasn't sure quite honestly, though Rosalia would have hated it if she had to fight Seifer in the tournament. It didn't seem fair. "I-i'm sure Yukino and Haruka will both do their bests. They're both super strong, so we'll just have to see. I guess if I had to pick one..." She paused to think, tapping her chin lightly as she looked up at the brackets again. "I'd root foooor... Oneesama~ O-oh uh, Yukino. Sorry~" Whoops. It's alright if she called Yukino by the title of "sister", right? It was kinda true, given the fact that they were sister-in-laws (or would be, come official wedding dates).

The brunette just listened in quietly to the conversation, entwining his and Rosalia's fingers as she shifted. Things seemed to be looking better at the very least. He didn't really speak much though, focusing more on the matches that were still on going, and looking up at the board. He was being... unusually quiet. Oh well.

It seemed Rosalia knew Yukino very well, which triggered Mitsuki's previous goal of joining the Resistance for assistance in recovering her brother's memory. How coincidental was it to encounter yet another person who was related to Yukino in someway, hopefully this will make their meeting much more legible. "Oh...ah, you seem to know Yukino quite
well from the looks of it. I really want to meet her someday. She's like my inspiration, my brother used to tell me lots of stories about her heroic actions. She's simply one of the reasons I'm playing Vanguard, and possibly the only way to help my brother.."
Mitsuki faded off as she realized any normal person would laugh at her story about her brother's partial amnesia. Though this was a good start to meeting Yukino, maybe its too soon for it, you shouldn't reach for something too far from your grasp or you'll fall, she thought as she decided it was probably better to watch Yukino through the screens rather than face to face. Mitsuki returned her attention to Seifer who was staring at the current match then traced her eyes across to the screen displaying it.

Rosalia scratched her cheek as Mitsuki went off on the tangent about Yukino. So this girl admired Yukino and wants to meet her? Then again, just who was her brother that she kept mentioning? With both Mitsuki and Seifer looking at the current fight on screen, the pinkette looked for the previous brackets. Finding Cero's name wasn't too hard, and the name of the guy he fought first round was... Jellal Kisaragi? She knew that name, but where.... Oh, he was the guy she met briefly in the park after first returning from Deletion. He really didn't have any memories at the time, but if was in the tournament, he must be feeling a bit better? Hopefully, anyways, but if Yukino could help with Jellal's memory...

In any case, Rosalia did mention she wanted to get some cards, so she got up from the seat and dipped her head to the other female. "I'm sure you can meet Yukino-oneesama one day, and your brother will recover soon, hopefully.. I think we're gonna go find that shop after all though. There should be one in the stadium somewhere, right?.. It was nice meeting you, Mitsuki~" Well, Rosalia really wasn't expecting the other female to follow them to the shop, though pulling Seifer by the hand meant he was coming with by default. Never say no to the fiancé!

Watching the start o the Round 2 matches from the stands, Neo had decided to keep to himself. He was thinking of looking for his other friends in the tournament to see if they wanted to hang out but he wasnt feeling up to it. Neo hadnt looked at his deck since his loss to Bashiro. To Neo the loss hurt more then anything but what hurt him more was that Bashiro reminded Neo of his former self. Neo was the happy go lucky passionate fighter Bashiro is now before going through all the suffering and life threatening cardfights. The only thing Neo saw that was important was winning.. Considering everything he has gone through there hasnt been much time for fun.

In the meantime Neo went to get some drinks and food and went back to his seat to watch the rest of the tournament.

Haruto's eyes were utterly blank for the most part, he sat there watching the fights happen but showed no emotion based on the results. His mind was completely overtaken by his thoughts, his anger, his hatred, his rage and above all the fact that even after everything he has done, Sera was allowed to live but Tsubasa was not...

He was then approached by two familiar faces, Xat and Carlos, but even though they tried to start a conversation Haruto was not himself at the moment, he could not reply like he usually would, it was as if he had locked any happy/fun-loving/cheerful aspect about him somewhere deep within. Afterall, on his mind right now were only a few things...

"...Not now." he said directing his response to Xat and Carlos as he got up and walked away from the two, his aura still a black coat over his being.

He walked towards the edge of the arena to continue watching until his turn came, no matter what he only had one goal in mind, ".....When will this tournament end.....I can't make my move with all these people watching." as he thought that his dark aura seemed to maximize as his eyes remained lifeless and fixated on two things, Sera and the matches.

"....ugghhhh....i'm not feeling so hot...aaaggghhh" said aglovale grasping at his head and dropping to his knees.
"Aglovale!" shouted Percival as he ran to the side of the tired knight. "He's reacting to Haruto...he can feel his pain like all of us except...for him it's much more difficult to bear...oh Haruto."
"...We can't leave him like this..."

Chronicle's Eve Stage - Page 2 Empty Re: Chronicle's Eve Stage

Post by Best Girl Thu Apr 14, 2016 6:03 pm

"Clash! Overlord!" A commentator shouted excitedly, referencing a very important highlight in Vanguard history years and years ago as Solis and Karin were matched against each other. More than anything, the sun warrior wanted this match. Yes... that woman who made his partner suffer, even after being deleted, and wouldn't even fight back initially... Now, she would fight with her Overlord. Kagero and Kagero faced each other, and the mates of Dragonic Overlord slammed into one another with ferocious flames. Everyone noted their use of "the", their same starters, same grade one ride, similar draws, and more. Some children and other fanatics of cheesy novels mistook them for twins as the match proceeded with the Great versus Sharyu. Immediate legions when possible, retires all over the place. Sharyu was based more on chance than the Great, but was more offensive with the ability to attack the Vanguard twice. The Great was a perfect balance of offense and defense, having to attack a rearguard first, but still creating terrifying pressure through four drive checks while breaking even in advantage without draw triggers. It was long and furious, keeping the audience on their toes. Solis' defenses were dropping due to a lack of triggers and heals, even cowering out of giving Karin an open counterblast to work with. ... He was disgusted to not have attacked with his rearguard, but it was a tactical decision.

At some point, Solis had a massive ten triggers left in his deck, and could Legion after Karin's turn. If he did, his chances would have been utterly enormous. He would have drawn a trigger, but with returning at least three of them to deck, that was twelve out of around fifteen. At the end game, nearly every last check would have been catastrophic. Fuki and Solis were nightmares of this tournament, being the strongest drones of the Reapers. Not just for show. Despite all of this, Solis' hand had no shields above five thousand, and Karin Legioned again herself right after him. These two mirrors clashed, and everything came down to Karin getting a single Critical, and Solis scoring a heal out of fifteen cards.

"Heh", Solis smirked. With a declaration to Karin, demanding she use her roar to set him ablaze, she struck with that Critical Trigger. Without hesitation, Solis damage checked. One Critical, Double Critical. No Heal. The sun warrior began laughing, incredibly content. A mate of Overlord in this timeline, she was moderately worthy. He meant truly worthy, but didn't want to say it. He didn't want to admit it. Shy? Pride? Either way, the Great scoffed, knowing he didn't mean moderately. Solis was immensely pleased, and gave Karin a rather... forward statement.

"I like you, Karin Ouriel."

A number of spectators gasped softly with hands over their mouths.

He wasn't even blushing, he didn't even know what everyone was thinking.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

"Don't worry man, I'll be joining you guys soon", Bashiro said, grinning. Jessie knew he was going to have an actual hell of a time against the Big Bang Busters, but he still smiled. His older brother expected him to win and didn't want to put anyone down. Bashiro didn't even want to be there in the first place, yet... You know, this booty lusting sleazebag wasn't always an asshole. He was just honest with himself, Jessie guessed. Maybe that's why Jessie liked being around him, even if he was the worst influence known to man. "You, me, Jessie, and Carlos are all goin' out for drinks after this shit, you hear me?" The thug spoke to Okuri, keeping a good air about him.

"... I'm ready, bro", Jessie stated. Bashiro turned, looking at him with his uncovered eye.

"... Alright."

Brawlers and Ancient Dragons, the showdown of brothers. Bashiro would've liked to avoid this, but Jessie didn't. In this world of Vanguard filled with behemoths and titans, he wanted a taste. A feel. Experience against giants. His brother wasn't even an ace or a hero like others, and he was still one of them at the same time. Yet, Jessie just watched him shrug and hold back. The boy wanted to mention how insulting that was, but simply realized that Bashiro's deck could tear his a new asshole. While Tyrannobite and others revived against Carlos' Narukami, the difference against his brother was the Big Bang Busters costing next to nothing to hit more than half of the entire board. No way in hell they were going to be able to revive and have so many counterblasts to spare. Jessie had an obvious advantage the first few turns from his foe not going at him with full force. Bashiro even performed Legion, and didn't do much with rearguards to support Knuckle Buster.

Spinodriver and Spinocommando - new aged "Crossride" against a Legion Crossride. Jessie... knew. With these two grade threes, he would draw so, so many units. Yet, the second Bashiro would use his Vanguard's skill, and finally call Slash Buster, Teiroku, and others, it would be decimated.

"You're gonna go places, kid." Bashiro smirked.

Jessie wanted to go "places" in a future beyond the reaper invasion. And watched as the moment the Brawlers fully gathered, he survived with a hand of complete zero, no rearguards, and no counterblasts. He didn't even have any soul to spare anymore. The difference between rank and file from preliminaries... it was now the difference between veterans and naturally gifted versus the young and average. ... There was nothing to do but swing and end his turn.

"And the game is decided!!" Was announced as Bashiro won the game.

I believe it, Jessie mentally admitted. I believe people like me will go places, because there's idiots like you to look up to. People like Okuri, who aren't as dumb as you. People like Beatrice, who isn't even supernatural, but still made it up here. With monsters like the boss lady or Cero, even... even... Tears dripped down onto Spinodriver's card. He was genuinely happy in upset. He didn't make it very far at all, and still had high hopes for the future.

The new generation is already looking promising.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Yukino gazed at her matchups despairingly. Lovely, she thought. All she wanted to do was exterminate drones from the earth. Yet, now she's fighting her boyfriend again, then if she wins, she gets a face full of Narukami no matter what. The Chosen Sword didn't want to deal with Cero, and especially wanted nothing to do with the most annoying yet physically strongest twit in the army.

Good thing she's fighting Haruka first at least. He always put her mind at ease... or set it on fire with thoughts that wouldn't be smiled upon on the public stage. And... it was a friendly game with her fiancee. Now, if only Harbinger and Chronos weren't watching her from a distance, she could relax a little bit.

A little bit.

The slightest shade of red flushed over Karin's cheeks at Solis' comment, but she shook it off quickly. Their battle had been an intense one, with the two overlords of Past and Present crossing swords and striking at eachother with all of their might. And in the end... Sharyu won. The Great, the mirror image of Karin's past self, her form that had been deleted in the past, welcomed the final attack with No Guard. And flipping up from the top of Karin's deck was the critical trigger that sealed the game, ending Solis with his last two damage.

Karin's orange eye glowed softly. She ran a hand through her hair and put her other hand to her hip, smirking at the sun warrior. "Now that I can see more clearly... I can say the same thing. I like you too, Solis Guren'ou."

Another gasp from the spectators.

Karin knew exactly what they were thinking, but that wasn't anywhere close. She had genuine respect for this man. He had forsaken the world to the Reapers, accepting their absolute end... But the fiery spirit that dwelt within him burned no less brighter. Karin could see that clearly, even through the orange haze of Harbinger's control.

Seifer was being pulled along by his fiance, as the fight between Karin and Solis concluded. Even with them being on the other side, he couldn't help but smile. He couldn't reach them right now but... He held a lot of respect for them. Why? He didn't know. "H-Hey slow down! You're going to wrench my arm out of the socket!" he called after his pinkette of a lover, who was still dragging him along. Though, in reality, he didn't mind. He was the one usually leading the way... So this was a pleasant change.

Beatrice corrected Okuri stating they weren't less fortunate but less skillful which was something they could work at and fix. Perhaps she was right. Despite being a bit strange and making Jessie rather uncomfortable during their fight she seemed like a nice enough woman. He might have replied but Bashiro asserting that along with Carlos and Jessie they'd be going out for drinks after the tournament was over. He agreed, adding that they'd have to drink responsibly this time but he knew it wouldn't do anything to stop Bashiro.

The brothers went ahead and began their fight. Jessie put up a good initial offensive but Bashiro eventually overwhelmed him. Okuri hadn't exactly expected Jessie to be able to beat Bashiro. They seemed to be having a good time of things. The game was over and Jessie seemed to be crying a bit but didn't seem overly sad. Okuri merely sat on the sidelines nearby waiting for them to come over. He was simply taking in the moment, happy to have made the friends here he had. He wasn't even particularly focused on the dragon from the posters at the moment.

Rosalia stopped once she heard Seifer calling, tilting her head at the brunette with an almost confused look. She wasn't pulling that hard, was she?... "S-sorry... I wanna go find some new cards... Not a whole lot, but I feel like I know what I want, without really know what the exact cards are... D-does that make sense?..." The pinkette lowered her head as she probably sounded crazy. Then again, with everything the Resistance has gone through, crazy was normal around here. Still, she felt bad for sort of dragging her fiancé along after everything he's done for her. "Forgive me?.."

"I'm not mad you dope." he gave a gentle sigh, walking next to his fiance, finally slowing down. He really wasn't mad at her. "Just be careful. I may be durable, but I'm still human. ...I think?" No you're an elf man with a dragon spirit inside of you shut up. "In any case, yeah... Looking at new cards sounds fun. Besides, maybe I'll find something for me as well." he smiled walking along with the pinkette.

Off in the wings, still watching the tournament was Aedan. Really, why didn't he participate in it to begin with?

Rosalia smiled in return, kissing the male's cheek lightly before continuing their walk. Given that this place was a stadium for Cardfight, it would make sense if there was a shop that was open during events, right? Gotta love merchandising and souvenirs and all that jazz. So when the pair finally did find at shop, the pinkette let go of Seifer's hand and adventured on her own for just a few moments. Quite honestly, it didn't take very long, looking over the walls and cabinets of single cards for sale. Something was calling to her, and it was easy to distinguish the blue wings of Celestial-based Angel Feather from most other card arts. In the end, she had picked out a total of only six different cards, though had a few copies of at least half of them, and walked over to Seifer's side. "These ones~" Rosalia mused, holding them so that the cards were unknown as to what they were exactly.

Oh? She'd already picked them out. But... He wasn't allowed to see. That's okay. Smiling he himself started browsing... A few cards seeming to, pop out at him? Well then... That was different... but, grabbing a pile of them himself, he went to pay for his... and Rosalia's new cards. Because that's how things go for no reason. Children's card games sucks up your wallet. "Happy with what you got?" he asked the pinkette, putting his cards away from view and turning his attention to his fiance.

The pinkette was happier than a child on Christmas morning when her cards were paid for, and immediately walked over to the closest table to organize her deck. She wasted no time in spreading out her entire deck, switching out current cards to make room for the new ones. She figured there was no point in hiding what the cards were for long, but a girl had to keep her secrets~ She changed out the cards in her deck as quick as she could, keeping the new cards face down. From the looks of it though, the cards were mostly Grade Ones, but there was also a new Grade Three being thrown into the mix. When finished, Rosalia put her deck safely back into her deck box, as well as the cards she took out of her deck so they wouldn't get lost. "Perfect~"

Looking at her deck, the same light returned. It was brighter than before, but still in that same "so close, yet so far away" situation. Whatever it was, the warm, safe feeling washed over her. She shut her eyes for a bit, taking a deep breath, then nodded to herself. She put the deck box in her dress pocket and stepped up to Seifer's side, entwining her fingers with his once more. "Mhm~ I'm happy. Thank you~" A quick kiss, and the female was as happy as could be.
